You can't use betarigs automatic failover with the hosted service at the moment as it doesn't support failover targets, it only does round-robin, so you'd have to manually change the pool when you rented your rig out and back when the lease came to an end.

The feature has been requested on their community forums though and they are working to have support for failover pools added very soon.

Mining rig depreciate very fast. How long will they take to implement this feature?

Sorry I don't know, you're best off asking GAW directly on their support forums.

In the mean time you can mine everywhere else just fine, so you are not losing much profit.

Betarig usually have 30-50% premium over mining litecoin and multipool/clevermining. I won't call this not losing much profit.

Just an fyi looks like at least one Fury has had the power supply melt causing a potential fire hazard and seems to be poor soldering on the barrel connector as it detached from that particular persons Fury. I should've saved the pictures...

This was on the Gawminers community forum however that thread has since been deleted.
Poor soldering is a production fault, some wires can also detach in shipment. This doesn't amaze me at all, people have such issues all the time, just look at any mining hardware thread. I remember when mass produced USB Asics came out at least 1/50 was faulty or completely dead. That's what RMA is for.

Then why did you delete the thread instead of explaining it just like that?
Why do you ask me I'm not a moderator Smiley But I guess the guy was immediately offered a refund and deleted it himself as it was no longer an issue.

I have seen a lot of similar connectors melt on cheap USB 10 port hubs when fed off a 5Amp power supply. I suspect that they might not be making good contact for the current. Make sure the connector is not loose in the socket, else it can arc and heat up.

The connectors have a 5A rating

My Fury arrived quickly and works great, no complaints. I ended up recompiling the cgminer 3.3.1 source they provided, so I had curses support.

Ordered a Fury Cheesy
But now im a bit worried. I want to lease my entire rig out on leaserig, so i would have to get both the fury and my gpus under 1 instance of cgminer.

Can someone compile a version that works for both? The source code id available, I tried to compile but failed miserably Sad.

Fancy seeing you here byt. Smiley

Anyway, you can run two separate instances of cgminer and point it to the same worker name so that it appears as one rig pool side. So run cgminer 3.1.1 for the Fury, and sgminer or whatever your favorite is for the GPUs. I'm renting out a rig on betarigs and doing exactly this, works just fine.

Their hosting service seems to have trouble to switch to betarigs.

Anyone using with hosting find a way around this issue?

Hey Guys,

Would you guys take these questions to the GAW Community? We would love to help you there!

I'm waiting for the power reducing patch that you promised before I decide to return the falcon or not and before I do anything else. Problem I do foresee: I'm going to be waiting for the patch until after the 14 day return period expires. So do I keep my falcon based on a patch promised twice by the CEO and Zeus and risk not being able to return it? Or do I return it to get my money back on my credit card? idk... rock and a hard place.

So, until then, I do nothing, and I stay right here at home in the welcoming arms of this awesome, helpful community called BTCtalk.

Look I like GAW miners they sold me a lot of good gear and fixed every problem I had.  No exceptions.   It is one reason I am really trying to do some good clean fair tests.

I also want to test the patch when it comes out.  When gridseeds came out there were issues with script   and 256 running and a lot of early grid seeds burned up..  this was fixed.

So maybe gaw mining gear can drop power use down enough to be good gear.     I want to be like Fox news 'fair and balanced'

I don't want to toss them under the bus.   I know reactor for about a year on this site.

He has had his share of getting f'd around buying gear.   Like many of us long term members .

Me I try to follow some rules and trust me I have still been burned more then once.

I will get my hands on  a fury by weeks end and try to run it on cpuminer or cg miner or something.   I will post only ltc on wemineltc and cex.io
 i will use the

$5.95 brick the $39 usd power supply sold by  gawminers  and a plat psu .

If an update comes along I will do it and see what it does power wise.  until then peace out.

I've already roasted a 1000W PSU with the Falcon, so I'm not clear on how an 850W can even be a minimum requirement?

Quote
My Black Widow is drawing 500w so I'm not sure how a 350w would even begin to work with it.

Quote
The Black Widow needs a 600W PSU MINIMUM not RECOMMENDED. It'll fry a 350W PSU in minutes.

Yes we can see it in the link, no need to quote again. If you don't agree with them you're welcome to leave a comment.

It's just a matter of time.....

No that's quite alright. I'm not too concerned with 3% or ~40 Watt difference in efficiency. But thanks Wink

edit. i have a killawatt meter.
