I'm afraid to mine ltc with my falcon and psu. If I mine 4000% -no exaggeration- less diff coins and I'm already at 1000watts(DC) @ 328clock OR I mine 8000% less diff and i'm at 875watts(DC) @ 290clock, I think ltc would fry my psu. I'm very interested in your test results.


Afterthought: If the difference of the clock speeds is only reason for the difference in power, then ltc mining would be fine, but then that raises the question about why is there a range of power usage? I will have to run 1 more test to see. I won't announce which coin I'm testing or when until I'm done.

OKAY I have  a volunteer to send me one! 

 I will test the fury post photos using it with the stock brick the plat psu's i have.

  I will run it head to head against a  gridseed blade.

 i can mail the psu and a trick switch to keep it powered and a  kill-a-watt  ……. 1 blade does   5.3mh and pulls 85-90 watts running ltc.

Yeah that's what I meant - a War Machine.

I just find it curious nobody got one for Week 1 (except only hosted) ??... they appear to have sold out *(for week 1) when I checked a few days before they were rolled out and site had them removed as they were no longer available (for week 1)... sooo.. somebody gotta have order one non-hosted, somebody upload some photos of there War Machine PLS ??

One pci-e carries more than 150W for a falcon with only four connectors. 1 per board. 4 boards. 900 Watts....  Thats 225W!

If the Fury/Blizzard pulls 40-50W that would make it 240-300W on one PCI-Express cable. This exceeds specifications, which is 150W max. To be fair these specifications are very conservative and it won't catch fire at 240W, but make sure that all connections are solid, wires are at least AWG 16-18, and cooling is adequate. Better yet, get a PSU with more PCI-E cables (most 750W+ PSUs have 4 or more) and run 3 on each.

Don't worry as power reports will filter out and people  will learn what the zeus/gaw miners really get.

 I will jump at least 15-20   percent.  so  my 16-17 watts per mh will become 19-21 watts per mh

I have both and have tested them both.

The little bricks are worse 20-25 percent more.

my point is I think the fury may run at 40 watts or maybe 38 watts with a plat psu    and you may be doing 1.3 mh

 this gets you to 29 -30 watts  an mh .  still not as good as a gridseed blade.   we need more fair tests of gaw/zeus gear.

I can show ltc tests for gridseeds     and I will post photos here of the exact setup on monday..


you can then hope for some real photos and proof of gaw-zeus miners to make a fair comparsion.

here are 2 gridseed blades and 1 five chip gridseed pulling about 10.48mh hashrate

 these use about 170 watts on a k-watt meter  ltc only on cex.io  that is  only the gridseed and comes to 16.23 watts an mh

  

Well, here's my unofficial results. I say unofficial because I screwed up my test on smartcoin. i forgot to up the ltcclk back to 328. But for half hour at 290 mining smartcoin with diff byte size between 45-100k, I was using 550 from the wall for 30 min. that's 1100 -10%=1000 - 125 mobo. 875 Watts. problem is, i'm solving blocks solomining, but not getting credit for them. I'll possibly cause a fork or 51% if I stayed on it. Seems to me, we are forced to use 900+ Watts.
EDIT: This was conducted at 290. So to use manufacturer setting at 328 will cause more power, more HW, and uncredited blocks. so basically its pointless to mine low diff or net hashrate coins, in order to obtain the manufacturers power range.

Now the difficulty is at 9 after its been less than 1.... I can't get real test done. Back to mining real coins.

I don't need to back anything up just told you what I was told when I asked your question - different coins mine with different power consumption, and the PSU you're using can also change it.

You made the claim/statement that higher difficulty means higher power consumption and failed to back it up, who am I supposed to ask then? And you are still making shit up about how you think I'm acting or not acting. My story with GAW orders is well documented in this thread and elsewhere, no need for you to tell me that. I think you should just get the refund mate. Seriously. You are lucky if you been offered refund. Im not saying you shouldnt complain receiving something you werent sold. But if they are willing to refund it - why not?  Testing item for 2 days and hashing with it seems reasonable. Not like they had it for 2 months. Has with it for 2 days to get your hashing time back you lost. Then return it for refund.

1. You buy a product
2. You don't like it
3. You contact the seller to ask for RMA
4. You give back the gear and get your money

Here's how a dumb person acts:

1. Buys a product
2. Gives negative feedback before even receiving an item
3. Gets it and decides he doesn't like it
4. Calls seller a fraud, and punches the keyboard all day in anger
4. Never really gives back the item cause he likes both the product and playing a victim

I'm still waiting to test low diff coins to see what the exact deal is. Starcoin - downloaded all 800k blocks, just to find out invalid checkpoint. on to smartcoin....

No - i dont believe there are any pictures available of a War Machine. I dont believe War Machines exist
