So what do we have for today in GAW land:

Zenminer seems to be accepting registrations as promised. Some minor glitches (WiFi etc), nothing out of ordinary it seems. I was a bit surprised they donn't support Zeus hardware even though they have it listed on their site. Maybe the zen guy misspoke.

PCI-E connectors on the miners are shorting PSUs - that's a nasty one, could be terminal if you have a cheap PSU without short circuit protection.

Reactor and waldohoover were bribed / lawyered / beaten into conformance Smiley .

I can see that some people have issues with GAW but some of that is due to the hyperfast world of crypto where you expect everything NOW, NOW, NOW! I'm the same way so I get it. In the end they do make everything right and I can say they've gone above and beyond for me. I have hosted miners that are working right now so they are not a scam. I have miners delivered to me that are working now so they are not a scam. I want Josh's car but I don't think he'll give it to me Sad

I can't speak for others but my main issue with GAW is not how fast or slow they do things or how well they fix issues as they arise. My issue has been and still is the constant stream of LIES even on the mundane things like how USPS/DHL/whoever are conspiring against GAW to not "update" tracking when the truth is they didn't hand the packages to the carrier. If they just said that 500 or 5000 packages cannot be shipped in one day and it will take 3 days to move it all out, that would be the end of it. Instead it is always "we're perfect/awesome/infallible, but Gridseed/USPS/DHL/Zenminer/competitor/electricity/reactor are causing all the problems and we should be praised and never criticized". I've dealt with many hardware vendors on and off these boards and while nobody is perfect GAW is by far the most extreme in creating this absurd image.

you could be correct but  I can tell you from years of ebay sales that the post office only scans the item in if you stand on line and hand them the item.    most post offices want you to have less then prepaid  5 items for one  by one individual scanning...  So if I go to the post office with 20 prepaid items they want me to have a  scan sheet.  they scan the sheet that you created when you prepaid the  20 items in your office.  these prepaid scan sheets make lots of mistakes.

I can also tell from the time an item gets to me since they are in Mass and I am in New Jersey  that many times the item did not get scanned correctly by the post office.  but that it came so fast they had to have shipped it when then said they did.

The only way perfect scanning will occur is if they send many workers with small amounts of packages and get a manual scan done.

That said I still believe that sometimes it is them and not the post office.  BTW both zoomhash and GAw miners do this. As i type I am waiting on a rma advance shipment from zoom hash and it is in the gray zone  of  "the seller purchased this label electronically and has yet to drop it off".

I will know which is true by the following if fri is shows up at my house .  this can only happen if they sent it on time and the post office did a shit scan job.

If I get this on MON it means zoom hash fucked around.  if it come on sat   I stay in mystery land.      Past deliveries from them have shown me any of the three can happen, but that most of the time the fastest shipping happens.  Which means they were okay.

Is anybody's G-Blade still down?  I know there was an e-mail sent out saying they are having issues but I was wondering if I was the only one still down.

Mine is up and running strong.

I don't under why mine is still down.  Opened a ticket and now going into 7 hours downtime and no reply still.

Can't talk for them but when the Blades were initially released it created some power configuration issues and they had to move things around a bit.  My blade may be in a place were all the new hardware aren't whereas your's may be in closer proximity to the new stuff.  But then again I can't really say, just an assumption on my part.

Have you emailed support or hostedsupport?  I think they ask customers to write [email protected] for hosted issues.  You might also want to try and PM Josh or Rami, it usually speeds up resolution.

Yeah I emailed hostedsupport and right after an info e-mail came out saying they had some issues 7 hours ago and was fixing it but I'm hitting into the 7.5hr downtime mark.  I e-mailed again and cc'd Joe so will see how long it will take.  I'm really just looking for a least an update if it is a major issue they are having but doesn't seem like all G-Blades are affected which is driving me crazy.

Because they are busy coming up with more promos and ways to get peoples money instead of helping their current customers.

The GAWlympics continue!

We're holding 2 contests simultaneously!

To enter each contest, please submit an image for each theme:

1. A funny picture with your brand new miner! Grin

2. Show your miner some love! <3  Kiss

The contests will end Friday night and we will have 2 winners!

The Rules:
  • Up to 1 image entry per contest
  • No adult content - family friendly!
  • Include the contest # (1 or 2) with your submission

Let's have some good, clean fun with lots of laughs!
How about some love for us hosted customers. You know, your bread and butter customers.

hmmmmm, thats a good point...

My issue got sent to Luke and once he picked it up it was resolved right away. Josh followed up as well and offered compensation for the down time. Luke, Josh and the team are great. Definitely changing the crypto market.

I have spent thousands  at zoomhash and at gawminers.

Both make a lot of mistakes.  Both make an effort to fix their mistakes.

It the world of btc/ltc / yada yada yada coins….

most companies don't make an effort to fix the mistakes.

read my posts carefully you will see me complain to them on their threads  .  and in a few hours you will see me say they fixed the problem.

It this ideal no.   But in the world of crypto coins   it is better then most.

That's true. I'm doing what's in my power to get these companies to minimize or eliminate issues to begin with. Greed blinds them and quality leaves with it.

that is crazy...  I think this is why my friend said I shouldn't get into hardware.  too late now, stuff looks too neat not to play with!

thanks for the help guys, ill keep poking around on here and read some more

did anybody find out if they really have been hashing with customer hardware?  like the new stuff they are shipping now?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6647371

That means nothing. You make a million dollar out of pocket payment to said company. Then raise "pre-order" money for new product. The "pre-order" money never leaves your bank but only because the payment was already made. Pre-order money is just balancing your books.

You could very well be re-paying your investment with customer's money. not sure which is worse.

If you are a month away from shipping you have to have a working prototype. If its being developed in house how could you not? Otherwise there is no proof of concept and you could be funding garbage.

Yes, we have units already in house and hashing away

i just ordered bitmain s1s to start btc hashing and hope they aren't used, read people are getting used gridseed stuff direct from factory too.  been reading horror stories like this stuff all over this forum

why can't you trust these people? sucks being new and feeling like I have to get scammed somehow Sad

I got my tracking # and should have my Black Widow tomorrow.  Luke helped me out and straightened out my tracking # issues in minutes.

Awesome, happy to hear you are getting hardware soon!

Have they given any info in regards to power supply requirements?  I mean, it looks basically like a G-Blade if I am seeing the pictures right (two halves, two power supplies?), with two connections on either side, but I can't see well enough to tell quite how the connection works.

I will post pics tomorrow along with a readout on my kill a watt.  For comparison's sake i will have my Zeusminer Cyclone tomorrow as well.

Glad you're all set but...

Yet again praise for fixing mistakes.  Roll Eyes

There was a typo in my tracking #.  My device did ship when they said it would.  I'll call this one a minor snafu.

To balance out the negative tone of this thread I feel obligated to post this nicely composed GAW press release Grin

New user, first post here.

Boxes have started arriving in the mail, and I just wanted to give some major kudos to GAW and Josh in particular. We took a gamble on you for this pre-order business but I'm starting to breathe much easier now. GAW has delivered on absolutely everything they've promised, and much, much more.
- store credit to compensate for Gridseed price drop
- next day, free shipping on product launch
- non-stop engagement on this forum by Josh, keeping us informed and answering questions and concerns
- excellent response to customer service inquiries
- free zenminer controllers

Oh. My. GAW.

Seriously. I just keep getting more than I ever expected.

And I'm sure I'm missing some. This level of customer service (especially in this particular business) is unprecedented, and I have to believe that this product launch is a loss-leader when everything is tallied. BUT... GAW has made a loyal customer here, and probably many more.

Whatever the mining future holds, I can't wait to see GAW play a major role in it.  Keep up the great work.

Looks like calling them out on GPL breach worked:

Linked is the source, some config examples, and binaries for Windows and Raspberry Pi.

Thread-puller extraordinaire
Did anyone ever see a response from GAW about my enquiry regarding the temperatures their chips run at?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6894368

I got the feeling they quickly doused that question with the spray of a thousand fawning fan-boy accounts gushing about how super-duper GAW is.
