That's... not well at all, sir. I bet if you check, it's plateaued and re-targeted for around 600MHz. If you step the voltage up (top button) and restart cgminer it'll draw more power but you'll see a more frequency-appropriate hashrate.

The formula for these guys is basically six times the NewPac formula. MHz * 12 * 0.114 so 700MHz should see about 960GH if it's running full steam.

let me check it this morning

it had tuned to freq 612.5

so I restarted it with  volts higher

is now

can you  do a volt chart for us.

I will see if this setting bold type gets me to freq 700.

Misc Stats : If you're keeping it as a Lottery Machine:

Bitcoin
1st Prize : 12.5BTC, Daily Odds 1:421088 (750GH/s - 5/1)

vs.

PowerBall
3rd Prize : $50K, Odds 1:913130

And at say 2.4 kwatts and 20 cent power cost is 50 cents a day.

Also it mines BCH AND it would be easier to hit one of them.

seems like nice gear  will play with it some more  before I do a review.

I got it to work on a win 7 build   I then clone all info to a usb stick and moved it back to a win 10 build.

this is an overkill pc to use  as it is an amd 2700 with an ssd and 32gb ram.

I will play with it on solo ck and mine with the cpu and the gpu mining xmr on nicehash

 after I test it with just the r606 and 3 newpacs.

I want to see what mining with nicehash does to the cgminer numbers

I am about 930gh with three sticks and the r606

@philipma1957

awesome.

@kingofhammers

Rolling in the official support into the NewPac thread.   All notes that apply to NewPac can be recyclable for R606 and the reverse should be mostly be true.    Feel free to continue to post in this thread as well.

Updated thread title to reflect "stock" settings and that the miner is now actively shipping, no longer a pre-order.

Zadig -> WinUSB, would be the correct choice.

thanks  I got it running now on freq 700  along with 3 newpacs at 200

here I am shooting for big money

first off

do I load zadig and do winusb driver

some thing is wrong with what I did.

I loaded the winusb driver

I do see a r606 with 12+ chips and a really low hash rate.

Second at rockmoney is this a prototype or an actual production model?

I am moving the gear to a second pc and starting over so do I use zadig?

ZADIG says stock driver is FTDIBUS

cgminer says that is wrong

to I change to win usb driver?

when I did this on first pc I got really bad numbers on my unit  well under 10gb

I will wait for some info.

btw this is a win 7 pc

last was a win 10 pc.

I downloaded this cgminer

@vh

Just looking around, I don't see an "official support thread" for the R606 yet.

If its not too entirely much to ask....would you mind starting that? Asking for a friend.

Yep. The eval units went out before I had the R606-specific serial script set up so they're flashed as a 12-chip NewPac. It works because this was built off NewPac base design for IO and the like, and because VH always builds the driver to be really versatile and detect the number of chips rather than assuming based on product string, which let me tell you is really handy for testing.

All pods are tested to operate at 550MHz (750GH) at volt setting 4 (OXX) for 24 hours before being shipped out. So you should be able to get at least that much speed out of it.

So my gear came. I have it running but too slow.

Can someone show a working bat file for this?

Using the latest gekko/vh cgminer build, my .bat file looks like this:

Code:
cgminer.exe --gekko-serial "GS-1000xxx2" -o stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333 -u xXxXx.R606 -p x --gekko-r606-freq 600

My guess is that you are using

Code:
--gekko-newpac-freq

but should be like this

Code:
--gekko-r606-freq

Visit this post: Latest R606 Code & Notes.

Grab from : April 30 @ 0d524aa

Kick off the test_mining.bat file that's included.

If it takes you above 500GH/s, you can edit the .bat and replace the options to fit your need.

adjust in this order or all at once:

--gekko-r606-freq 900
--suggest-diff 700
then adjust -o and -u
--gekko-noboost (if seeing all rejected shares from pool)

@minefarmbuy

Those instructions are okay for the prototype and will not work for the shipped ones.

We are not retail.
Code:
mode con: cols=120 lines=40
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u yourBTCadddress.606 -p x --gekko-newpac-freq 900 --suggest-diff 10000

Probably, but a) the miner's barrel jack is rated for 8A and b) I'd be wary of the efficiency and reliability of a 120W power brick for $12 retail
