He left a problematic team to go to another problematic team.

It's true. If my memory serves me right both team have never been above the middle of the table but in my believe  Union Berlin has the potential to break in two years through the middling-team-barrier and Steffen Baumgart will help them to do so. After all, his experience suggests this. Now, the pace of developments depends on  team and its new couch will    find the common ground.

Steffen Baumgart confirmed as new Union Berlin coach

he's back . steffen baumgart is the new coach at union berlin . baumgart last coached hamburger sv . but was sacked there a few weeks ago .
now he's supposed to lead the team from the east of berlin back up in the bundesliga . i'm curious to see if he can celebrate more successes with
union berlin than with hamburger sv

source: https://bulinews.com/baumgart-confirmed-new-union-berlin-coach
For me, the reason for contracting a coach that was sacked by his former employer is something that's quite challenging and requires a lot of explanations to the fans because if the coach was as good as anticipated then he wouldn't have been sacked by his former employers in the first instance, but it's left for the coach to prove his worth to his new team as well as his new employers because the art of coaching is quite tedious and sometimes requires a great deal of luck to succeed too. So I wish the new coach of Union Berlin all the best of luck in all his endeavours and I also hope that what happened to him at Hamburger SV doesn't repeat at Union Berlin.

It's nothing new that a coach gets released and hired instantly by another team like 1-3 weeks later, that's the business. Past accomplishments or misfortunes don't count when you start at a new team. You bring a whole different philosophy and playing style, hoping to change the current situation for the better.
Sometimes in basketball coaches get released and only 3 days later get hired somewhere else, that's because of their good reputation. Having a string of bad games and getting released doesn't me the person can't coach, it just mean the bond between the team and the coach is basically cut and impossible to fix.

He left a problematic team to go to another problematic team. Last year, Hamburger SV had 4 coaches, and Steffen Baumgart was the only one who lasted the most days as coach, he stayed for 278 days. This means that Steffen Baumgart was unable to bring good results to convince the Hamburger SV board and now he will go to another problematic team that last year had 2 coaches and is currently in a bad situation in the Bundesliga. I see him being fired before the end of this year.
I wonder what the club's hierarchy saw in him that made them signed him up to manage the team knowing how he struggled with his former club. The coach in question also made a mistake by accepting this offer because this new club that gave him this job are also struggling and if he fails to stabilise them then it is possible that he might get fired again which is going to portray a negative picture on his coaching career. He should have just taken a break from coaching and clear his head until he finds a better offer. Right now he will be facing double of the challenge he had in the previous team because his new employers club are already struggling.

the hsv had 4 coaches in 2024 ? so i think that's wrong. january and february 2024 tim wlter was still coach, then in february 2024 steffen baumgart came and in november 2024 merlin polzin came and is still coach at hamburger sv today . merlin polzin was already coach for a few days before that. but normally there are only 3 coaches .

Agreed, even if he had some blunders for which he was fired, the latter  should only make him wise and temper his spirit. Thus, he will be stronger while coaching Union Berlin  team. Regarding Steffen Baumgart skills, there is no doubt for me that both  he and Union Berlin   will benefit from working together. Should their work positively influence the team's stand in Bundesliga table  club's fans will appreciate it.

Though I wasn't implying that Steffen Baumgart does not have an impressive past records that makes him deserve rehiring ASAP by another club, I am only curious of what wrong he was doing that made his former club fired him and he in no time got hired by another. Perhaps he wasn't giving the desired outcomes as expected from the  management. And also all of these does very much depends on the calibre and standard of the team who fired and who is also hiring. For instance, a coach getting fired by an elite team can quickly get a new coaching job from a lower level team but the reverse is very rare.

Hmm, I think you got one fact wrong in your post. He doesn't have to lead Union back up in the Bundesliga, because they are in the Bundesliga. hahaha  Cheesy Or maybe you just chose a strange wording.  Tongue
Anyway, signing him was not a big secret since he was the top target for them actually, saw several news about it before it actually happened. I think he played for Union like 20 years ago or something, so maybe he still knows some people.
Hopefully he can help them to jump further away from the danger zone. 17 points out of 15 games so far is not what they were hoping for I guess.

this is a big surprise for me now . hannover 96 has sacked its coach Stefan Leitl . hannover 96 is in 7th place in the 2nd bundesliga with 27 points .
one place behind the relegation places. and...hannover has already presented the new coach:
the new coach will be André Breitenreiter. breitenreiter has already coached the team from hannover once > > 2017 ...and he promoted hannover to the first bundesliga

german: https://www.n-tv.de/sport/fussball/Fussball-Zweitligist-Hannover-96-trennt-sich-von-Cheftrainer-Stefan-Leitl-article25457606.html
engl :https://onefootball.com/en/news/leitl-sacked-as-hannover-96-coach-40493816
The sacking of Stefan Leitl is justified by the fact that Hannover 96 have dropped form seriously. If we compare how they started the season and now, you will know that all is not going perfectly well with the team. So the sack of Stefan is not a bad decision because something has to be done before the team slide into the relegation zone.

André Breitenreiter is a perfect replacement because he has the culture of the team already and have managed the club when they were going through a time like now. I believe he will do very well for the team.
