I think ETH, Wave, XEM because there platform is fundamentally strong and is being used by other altcoins.
I'd say GRS as:
- Old coin (2014, so you can trust the devs) and very tech-centric coin
- Everything BTC/LTC wish to be: instant transaction, zero fees (more precisely almost zero: sending 10,000 GRS will cost you 0.000045 GRS), private transactions, mobile/desktop wallet, payments available via SMS
- Devs were primarily focused on tech before launching marketing campaign, contrary to most coins these days...
- Will focus on being added to many more exchanges
- Current price way below its ATH ($1.6 vs $2.7)
Pretty sure it is quite a safe bet for the long term.

I voted for Stratis and XVG. These are two altcoin that I am very expensive with advanced technical background, professional management team, the community grow very strong. This altcoin is always stable value and always tend to go up soonest in the market after the strong rebounds. I think the two altcoin will pump very well in the coming time.
I would say :
Ether : one of the most used Crypto Currency. I think the price will double during the year 2018.
Litecoin : I still don't understand why its value is not 100$ at least, it will happen soon IMO.
Ripple : the new anonymous and secured Currency, I put a lot of hope in this coin, I'm sure it will reach 10$ next year.

I think BCH is more suitable when used in an investment in the long run because if it views the increase each year is very high. is well suited for those who want to invest about one to two years ahead.
altcoin best for long-term investment could possibly be allocated to ethereum. with a period of about a year maybe ethereum will soar from the current price and will give you a big profit.
Ripple and Stellar the price is still very cheap certainly a good long-term investment.

In my opinion the best altcoin which i like the most is Etherum and litecoin these are best according to me and you are saying that 1 to 2 years it is much time for these coins to make you profitable as it is the suggestion of mine for my friend as well. The people who can't afford bitcoin to buy then this is good for them to invest in this. For long term investment we should choose the coin which has a graph of upward movements and the price is affordable and with in limit So you must take a decision to invest in altcoin as soon as possible.
It seems to me that the most important thing is to have a good start-up capital initially. And only then lose weight on the trade exchange and watch the Rating of promising coins. It is the first five with a good price fluctuation, has all the possibilities for sufficient quality of earnings.
For a long-term investment, it seems to me that BurstCoin will be interesting.
I would put some investment into privacy coins. They have less hype, but they have very clear use cases, as privacy is the key to many crypto holders, not for ilegal reasons, but just because not everybody wants to be in a public rich list.
The fact is that it is very difficult to trust this or that information, because some resources spread beautiful words, only to raise the rating or another project. I think that in any case it is illegal manipulation of the confidence of each participant who participates in a particular project.
What I know now is eth, this is just the only altcoin which next to BTC.So envesting here really a good chance and a great decision to be made.
For me the best altcoins for long term is ethereum and also litecoin because of its slowly but surely rise to get big profit in the near future.
