it depends on how much you want to risk in your investment.
if you chose to invest in something like Etherium then you are probably safe as the ether block-chain is not going to go anywhere soon, however because it is safe you will more then likely not 10-100x your investment but rather 2-3x.
if you feel like throwing your investment in something more risky then there is of-course a chance you could 10-50x etc.

If you haven't already I would recommend you have a look at Nexus (NXS) a very promising project with a lot of great stuff (hopefully) released this year.

what i have in porfolio is something best for me but i dont think its best for your choice if your going to research your own coin.but maybe i can share some of mine.try to have ZAP ,UTT and TIO they are one of the best ico that just comes out early this year but very promising and highly potentially alts that i cant resist to own.thats why im sharing with you i just want to invest my BTC with a good Altcoin for longterm investment,, with proof of stake system

i suggest you can buy some big marketcap coin such as xrp
litecoin eth and so on , because their price will finally come back the highest price

aside from BTC you can also choose Litecoin, Ripple, Dodgecoin among those coins that can be watch over this year 2018. I heard choosing one of this is a good longterm investment. But you still have to do your own research on choosing the right altcoins for your longterm investment, just be careful on investing your money. Be wise and always look for a potential and trusted altcoins in the market before investing. i just want to invest my BTC with a good Altcoin for longterm investment,, with proof of stake system

I think litecoin is altcoin and the ethereum right for future investment. In addition to the coins, it does potentially too but not as good as a second altcoin here.
I think doge, eth, and waves will be good to invest in a long time. because the price now may still be very cheap compared to the price to come
For a long term investing POS coin I suggest NAV and XSPEC. Both have a low marketcap and have the potential to move up the charts. NAV is at $193 788 906 and XSPEC at $58 416 361. I think NAV has 4% and XSPEC 5% staking.
For long-term investment i think siacoin, stellar lummens, xspec, posw coin are oppurtunities with huge of potential. H

Personally I think that Waves have great potential to become really successful, I have good faith in the team behind waves and they are working really hard, my longterm portfolio members are, waves, iota, tezos,via and neo.
for the next two to three years, I think the ethereum is one of the coins that are worth to be defended and certainly more promising for future investment.
I'm surprised so many people advicing to hold, hold, hold and hide.
