@shorena i just checked my coinbase account and it seems that i can not sign a multi line message? Is that problem only to me or to all?
-snip-

Works for me, might be a browser issue? I tested it with chrome latest and it worked.

Really appreciate the quick responses and the detailed thread, this really should be sticky for us newbies.

Glad you like it. Its linked in the unofficial rules sticky, I try to bump it on a regular basis and a few other member have the link here bookmarked. Should be enough Wink

I will not use anymore the coinig to verify the signed messages, the new website blocktrail seems a good platform.

Is this right?

Finally figured out that firefox was not allowing me to do this and tried Safari.

I just tried to verifiy in coinig and it seems that i does not verify it

I will try now in brainwallet offline.
Edit: It works when i checked in brainwallet web archive and here it is
Message verified to be from 12QykYQirkC6pwDfZuHv1CwR7qrJZ42t46

Coinig is bugged, see the OP. It does not verify multi line signatures and should not be used because the devs are unable to contact can not be reached and we dont know what other errors there might be.

Blocktrail -> https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC?verifysignedmessage=1
and core (below) verify it just fine.

Added signing with Bither 1.3.7.1. I did the screenshots on an Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop system, the look and feel might be slightly different on other system, but the buttons should be at the same spots.

I added several wallets to the list of those that can not be used to a sign a message. You might notice that they are all for iOS 7.1.2 which is the latest available iOS version for an iPhone4. I have access to such a phone over the weekend. If you have any wallets that do not require iOS 8 (e.g. Mycelium does) you want me to look at let me know here or via PM. I have some more on my own list (Hive, YardWallet, Zebpay, Coins)[1], but the Wireless for the phone seems a bit unstable. My personal priority here is Hive as its the only wallet I know about that at least in some versions allow you to sign a message[2].

[1] some of these might not actually be wallets, but they turned up when I searched the store for "Bitcoin Wallet" and did a bulk install.
[2] https://github.com/hivewallet/hive-mac/issues/278

I think that you should include also that you can not sign a message from coinbase android app, there is no option for it.

Done, thanks.

Great, after i saw the last post i checked on my phone if it is available to sign a message or not, then came here to tell Smiley, it is really limited-access on the phone, you can not do everything like in website.
