Is it common when trying to do the signature on blockchain for the skript to stall and be unresponsive?
Wanted to try this out but keep getting "unresponsive skript".  Huh
Maybe because of this:

We Will Be Back Shortly

Blockchain.info is currently down for maintenance. For status updates please see Twitter. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Might have been building up to that. Was not like that at the time I was trying to achieve a signature. Go figure the day I decide to finally do it. Grin

I think blockchain.info in available now, and you can go and sign a message Smiley

you can't sign using xapo wallet. that is, unless something have changed and is not yet included on OP.

You are correct, you cannot. There is no such feature. Realised this today when I was asked to sign a transaction after I gave out one of my Xapo addresses. Had to pluck an address from Electrum instead and sign that one.

The wallet of Xapo is actually very featureless. You cannot even store contacts or anything like that and you also cannot see your old addresses once they have been used.

Really wish they will put some work into their wallet as I use it quite often for the day to day stuff and sometimes it gets a bit frustrating using it as you are forever copying and pasting.

I never had that problem, but I also dont use blockchain very often. Its probably best to contact their support about this. Might just be an server load issue.

In online wallets we can sign a message very simple way

https://blockchain.info/

Step 1 - Go to Receive money tab
Step 2 - Click on action on Right side of address and Find sign a message
Step 3 - Just click and Enter text you want to Fill it

but what about xapo wallets ?

I have contacted jackjack and also I am looking for the developer of coinig.

Thanks.

 -snip-

It seems like the developer has gone awol[1] and the website will expire next month. So its better to wait till we get another website.

windpath the dev behind Chainquery is very responsive though[1]. Im very positive they will get it fixed soon. The site might be a bit overwhelming, but I planed to add the major clients anyway. This will be a good motivation to do so.

Edit: Its fixed now, I added a link and will make the pictures soon.

just want to check can greenbits sign a message?
if yes, how Huh

You can't.

Correct, this is true for all multi sig addresses or services that use multi sig. The problem is that there is no standard how a signature would be done with more than one key[1].

so...is it better to change an wallet with sign message funtion?
as I may want to sell the account in the future.

You dont have to use the same wallet for signing as you use for spending. You can create a wallet just for signing messages.

Brainwallet is now Closed Permanently[1,2] and thus there is currently no way to verify a signed message with having a client or using a service that requires a login. At least to my knowledge. If you know about a site that is able to verify signatures please let me know. For more about why the site is down see these[3] defcon slides or wait for the speech to be available as video. The tl;dr is: brainwallets are bad if done wrong and most do it wrong. My assumption currently is that this is the reason the site is down, which sadly also takes down the features that can be used without risk.

As Im currently not at home it will take some time till more verify guides are available.

http://coinig.com/.

Awesome, will add it ASAP.

Yeah! It uses jackjack's signing/verifying tool - jasvet.

http://coinig.com/. seems to work well, you just need to enter the info in 3 fields rather than in a block with headers.

You can do the same in Brainwallet.org too!

Do you know how to contact the devs? Its jackjack's lib, but there seems to be something wrong. This is what happened when I tried to make the picture just now.

I vote for this to be stickied here and in the lending section.

It was denied[1] in the past. The unofficial rules now have a link here, maybe you can contact someone that made a sticky in the lending section to add a link as well. Too many stickies are not good, a reference should be enough.
