These are very good results. Congratulations to you. Of all the options, I like the third one. I wish you every success in its implementation.

If i were, Bitcoin give a big part. I think it makes sense to keep more than half in Bitcoin.
You can go to Altcoin with the rest and you can do trade.

I decided to just hold my bitcoins... Alts are nice to play when btc does not take off. Nowadays many altcoins will not reach the ATH anymore.
I'm even surprised how different the user advice does not give, how to deal with 12 Bitcoin. First of all you need to be convinced that Bitcoin will always be at the level of 20,000 dollars, Although its price is always unstable and will rise and fall, but 20,000 dollars will come back. Therefore, in this plan, it is not necessary to panic.

No one on this forum could do better than you did, you have made 12 Bitcoins in just 6 months, starting with next to nothing. So, everyone here can give you advice, but probably you know perfectly well what to do. With these 12 Bitcoins you could now make 144 Bitcoins in next 6 months. In just 1 year you would be a millionaire instead of a school drop out.

Hodl that and see what happens, people are too quickly to jump ship. With every drop, there is a significant increase in the foreseeable months as people invest when there is a drop.

I would have scattered the investment portfolio into several baskets (top 10 crypto-currencies), then the falling ones were updated to new ones and so on

Just hold onto them and see how far they can go!

If it is just an investment you are sitting on and don't need the money, then why jump to sell them?

You should hold bitcoin much longer. Or you can also change some bitcoin into altcoins and invest there. That is a great way to invest in bitcoin. But still you have to be patient and not in a hurry to sell bitcoin.

Well, if I would have been you then I would have invest 40% and invested the rest 60% in altcoins .
Holding BTC is actually profitable in some cases when you buy a crypto which is not having any increase in its value .if the rate of increase of the alt which you have buyer if at least 75% of the rate of increase in BTC then I would consider it as a good investment but if the rate is like < 75% then holding BTC could have been more profitable at that situation.

I am so envious to you sir. You are one lucky guy for believing and taking that risks about bitcoin. You have a Midas Touch. I strongly suggest sir, that you hold 75% and invest the 25% to some ICO's. There were so many new ICO's that were showing good possibilities. Try the 4NEW ICO ( it is the world's first eco-friendly, tangible, waste to energy blockchain ). Good team. You wont regret it.

A suggestion would be to withdraw  1-2 BTC and use those to invest in Altcoins and trade also.
This way you can try and make some profit and in time you will learn more about trading too.

You can earn 1 bitcoin per week, even if you only trade daily.
Or you could be a real millionaire one day holding everything in your hands for many years Wink

Edit: I have now invested 50% into Skycoin, 20% into Raiblocks, 30% into Bitcoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

If I were you, I will choose number 1 Hold the bitcoins, you know why? Bitcoin price varies in just a an hour what if we hold it for a year or more than a year? What will be the price of bitcoin? Do you see yourself 10 years from now? I guess you will become rich after 10 years.
