so... how did the hacker find said link? where did he get it from?

That is a million $ question, which still seems to be unanswered.

My assumptions, also, as seen from the second thread of this incident.
hacker was someone Klee knew personally. I read it was a short brunette in her 30s.
So, it seems that the person, or a group of persons, knew what klee held, and in a personal meet, planted a trojan on Klee's system.

If all this is true, than that is a SEVERE breach of trust. pathetic.

So it was internal and someone klee knew
That explains their worry about detection
Keep munching popcorn

If this is true it also highlights another lesson for everyone.
You should always keep quiet about what you've got in life, because the "have nots" will always want what the "haves" have got.
Obviously this isn't always possible, such as the house you live in or the car you drive. But you get where I'm going.

Nobody knows how many bitcoins I have. NOBODY. There's no reason for them to know.

Possible. As part of the "deal" I would have requested how to hack took place. Although, if it was physical access, that would have probably narrowed down the list of suspect by quite a large margin.

I expect after this bitaddress.org is one of kLee's favorite sites.

Thats an interesting site. But, i am not comfortable with others generating BTC addresses for me.

That is the prime paper wallet site for bitcoin. Take the html page. Save it, put it on an offline computer. Everything is done on your computer, in javascript, offline.

I've read above it was not a matter of OP downloading malware, a trojan, virus or similar, but doing a mistake as simple as putting a dropbox link with your wallet and password in txt form.. but I don't get it. Where did you post this link at? I assume you didn't post it here in public or something super dumb, so... how did the hacker find said link? where did he get it from?

zolace and leex1528, good job, you got your primedice posts for today.  Excellent work.

Sorry BurtW, Stunna only counts constructive posts, seeing as my post was not constructive, it will not count.  I was just letting Klee know I feel for him, again, this post is not constructive either...so it won't count.

Grow up man, there are actually genuinely nice people out there not trying to just make money.

Sorry for small thread derail....Would still like to hear what happens

why would anybody use an honest mixer that disclosed information ?
why does some one that have nothing to hide even need to use a mixer ?
some of you have been banging of for page after page about some legit mixer, what for ?
why not start your own mixer that you need to give ID to and see how many customers you get.
No one ever ever said people had to use an ID to use this type of mixer. More bs and making up shit that NO ONE SAID.

As you keep trying to put people off discussion in this thread, do you have some vested interest in the hacker getting away with it or bitmixer's business?

my two satoshi:

the first moment this hacker had and idea to try take OP coins was the moment where all feelings should be put on a side. and hard punishment should be given.
OP was working hard (I hope ) to have this ammount of btc.

what kind of message this thread will send to others wannabe hackers? what if OP again will become a victim because he was try to be better than hacker?

track him down, name it, shame it and take it to the court.

get what's yours OP and don't show them you scared to give punishment.  If this is someone who is known to you....ohh brother, I woukd know what to do then.

This is one big chunk I found.

I noticed that it constantly moves through this server in Germany.

Seems like a P2Pool node or something.

Money laundering is never a crime. They made it a "crime" because they are too bad at catching people for real crimes such as theft.
OK, I will change my stance to:  money laundering is currently a crime in many/most countries however bitcoin mixing is not money laundering.  Good enough?

Almost, but not quite.  How about "money laundering has been declared a crime by the scribbles of politicians in many/most countries".  The distinction matters, because what a man who thinks he has the authority to define right/wrong says versus actual reality is very different.  In some countries chewing gum has been declared a crime by politicians.  Has morality changed?  Is chewing gum somehow now an immoral activity worthy of punishment?

Money "laundering" in and of itself is not a crime; however laundering stolen money is, and knowingly aiding and abetting someone who is trying to launder stolen money should be punished.

Money laundering is never a crime. They made it a "crime" because they are too bad at catching people for real crimes such as theft.

The law defines what's "crime".  Money laundering is a crime in most countries. You can argue all you want "you made it crime because you are not good at catching people" in the court, all you want, but that kind of defense won't stand a chance.

The "law" is comprised of arbitrary scribbles of men who think they have the right to tell YOU what is right and what is wrong.  Don't fall into the trap of accepting what politicians say as absolute truth.  Their "law" is flawed.  If you're not hurting anyone, you're not committing a crime.

Offtopic : In most countries, governments are voted in by the people, and the majority keep them there. They then make the laws, based on what the majority want. If you are in the minority, and you did not vote for them, you simply outnumbered and they will tell you what to do.

Let's just forget about all this politics, and concentrate on what is right and what is wrong.

1. It was wrong, when the hacker entered his private dropbox. {Did he give him permission?}
2. It was wrong to monitor his actions and to time his attack {Invasion of privacy} ---> The very thing, you guys are saying mixer services are protecting. {your privacy}
3. It was wrong when the "coins" was taken from his wallet, with a stolen password. {That is theft}
4. It was wrong when a legit service was used to mix coins, in a attempt to "clean" them.
5. It was wrong to rub in the salt, into a open wound. {Emails to the victim, keeping him hostage, to get his own property back}

Yes Klee made mistakes and we learn through our mistakes. {Nobody is perfect} A Ethical {White hat} hacker would exploit vulnrabilities and inform the entity without claiming "bounty".

This is obviously not a white hat hacker, you dealing with.

Klee if I were you, try to establish contact with this person, and negotiate a return of your money, with a offer for a reward. {Paying for the lesson, you have learned}

This thread and the other thread is just harming your cause. {Screaming / negative comments from people not involved / threats will have negative consequences in my opinion}

Pay a team of legitimate hackers and forensic experts to track him/her down and deal with this in the courts or settle out of court, to save you even more stress.

And get some sleep. {You need a clear head, to make the right decisions}

Good luck, we will stand behind, what is right in this world.

i don't understand the premise of an "honest" mixer. what qualifies them to decide whose coins are whose?

They exist because people want them, whether or not you understand the premise. And why does anyone have to be qualified to start a mixer, and who would do the qualifying?

Okay, so reading from where i left of the other day.

1. If you have a "new idea", please start a new thread, perhaps under "Project Development" or "General Discussions", there is a reason we have such sections..
2. If you are using the thread to make the posts count for your signature, CONGRATULATIONS.
3. Still no comments from KLEE, after the lead of twitter messages, is he still gone for the day? with almost $700K stolen from him? and not to forget the community funds of 10Mil NXT, which did not belong to him in entirety?
