if you are looking for trading options (since this is the trading board) all of these can be very profitable for a trader. bitcoin market is much more predictable and even if you make a mistake you can make up for it because the price will ALWAYS rise in long term.

if I would have 500 usd, I split them between ETH, BTC 30/30 and the rest between some coins from тoп 10, for example neo, xem
I chose the bottom coin that my market was smooth and still live because they are more foldable in the future.
Right now if I have $ 500 left. I will use all this money and buy ETH. Current ETH price is $ 400. I will buy 1.2 ETH and keep until the end of 2018. ETH's 2018 goal will reach 1500 or even higher. Long term investment with $ 500 and expect to get x2 balance at the end of the year 
Yes, investment in the air is unquestionably a good investment in the long term until the end of 2018, but there are now over 1600 crypts in the market and a chance to earn much higher if you divide your $ 500 by 5 * 100 and invest in 5 more interesting coins that can yield a lot of X, and not x3 I would highly recommend bitcoin. But if you think it is too much expensive you could go with altcoins.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
I was asking myself what to do when cryptocurrency goes down and found out that the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.
The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.
I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

May be the best two options 1 ethereum and 2 neo.Also i will choose invest in cheap altcoins who has an potential to grow in future depending on the news attached with as with $500 you can expect huge profits in quick time and you need to move ahead slowly and steadily.
both coin are good reference to invest in cryptocurrency. I also like to coin Ethereum and Neo, but I have Ethereum then Neo. because Ethereum is more stable in price, and can be used in all markets.

I would buy NEO, Qash, Qtum and some private coins like Zcoin / Zen. Throw in some Komodo as a future project as well.

If you are new to crypto, it is better to purchase an etherium. Bitcoin with such an investment will not be logical. If you have some experience in this business then I would, if I were in your place, invest some money in iso.

sometimes i see as if the market is not rational, when bull market arrives, fundamentals get thrown out the window. Strong coins like bitcoin will likely last longer because they are tried and tested, however you can only go so far with profit in bitcon. Find a great alt that can explode, then take your profits into bitcoin eventually
