Coin prices can give you big profits in the short term. However, I also quite agree with you buying bitcoin and eth. But I think now is not a good time to buy bitcoin
why are you looking only at top altcoins? I think it would be much profitable to invest in the coins with small cap. There are more chances to do x3-4 then holding top alts

I would definitely consider playkey. It is now in ico phase but it looks good in my eyes. Targeting game industry. Also from coins, Omisego is nice investment for short term gains.

I agree with you. I think, the both of ethereum and bitcoin are the kings of the cryptocoins, and the altcoins are too risky to trade.
If you are planning to invest long run Go ahead and Put money in BTC & ETH & DCT but if you are planning to play with your cash and make some extra cash there are multiple coins to play with,

right now i would put all in at neo at a 0.0060 buy price and exit at 0.006-0.007 for some ez and fast profits during weekend btc drop

Kind of funny you mention that, because Bitcoin has doubled a few times over the last few months.Although I do agree that shouldn't be an expectation.

You should choose altcoin cheap and have a stable market. My advice is to invest in Doge, XVG, RDD, because these are very low altcoin but are a lot of investors interested in the recent time, chances are x2 at any time

Considering that five hundred is not that much, I would most likely invest them into some ICO's, you have the highest chances of return by investing in ICO's, from the other side though, the coins you listed, especially ETH, are much more safer and can kinda provide you with a steady income/inflow. My suggestion would be that if you don't want to take any risk at all, invest in the coins you already stated (especially ETH/should have the biggest holding of that) and if you would like some more returns and take some more risk as well, you can invest in ICO's. If you want a middle way, the you can invest 250 in these coins, and the rest 250 in various ICO's, so you'll be well diversified.
