Game of luck, indeed there will be no skill whatsoever to be able to truly control the results and also be able to obtain much more certain results in all types of games of luck, any method or strategy only makes someone more confident not to increase the chances of winning more guaranteed.
Like the example mentioned by OP saying about playing dice and throwing dice softer or harder in order to get satisfactory results and increase the chances of winning, actually this is just suggestion and also way for someone to be braver to play and risk money, believe that all types of games like this dpriove special way or trick that can be done by gamblers to be able to achieve victory.

But even more so here in online gambling we will all have much more difficulty because everything runs according to the existing system, every game we only see it on the screen and cannot see directly or play directly so that all suggestions like that will never be able to apply here.
This is why now I really prioritize sports betting over luck-based games, but everyone has their own choices, they have certain approaches and also beliefs about the way or strategy of playing that they rely on.

It's just another phenomenon that gamblers often assumes that they have some control over the outcome of their bets especially if they have been doing it for a while even though every time is just purely random there's no skill involved. Take dice for an example we might assume that we can control and influence the result of it by throwing softer or harder or in anyway that our brain recognize a pattern and keep tells us it's a way to win the game. So let's discuss about it.

I totally agree with the illusion word. After a long losing streak we have the illusion that things will change and a winning streak will come, but as you mention, it is just an illusion because the bad streaks can be really long. It is hard to understand that we must change our betting method or do something different because if we stay on the same track the outcome will not change.

You mentioned dice as a good example, in the past i had a good method to win on dice, but when i tried my method with another account (the site allowed multiple accounts), it didn't work at all and i only got on a deep hole with a crazy losing streak.

Indeed, most gamblers do under the illusion of freedom. <...>

Anyone who believes this has no understanding of anything. If they were on the other side, the side that owns a casino, or at least invests in casino bankrolls, they would start to see things differently.

The person who rolls the dice in a certain way and believes that it brings him luck is because at some point he happened to win by doing so, and when that doesn't happen he minimises it or tends to think that it is an exception. But the casino owner knows that he wins money because there is no control on the part of the player that allows him to beat the house, no matter what he does.

This phenomenon leads to superstitions and bizarre rituals. Gamblers, I think, purposefully loses their mind when something goes wrong. For example if they have a superstition that they will win every time they are wearing a specific watch the moment they lose this watch they will immediately think that they are going to lose and usually that is what happens because they unconsciously not perform. They are not motivated anymore and not making the right decisions. This usually applies to card games not luck based games. But the more the results coincides with their beliefs the more they will believe it no matter how unrealistic it is.

Take dice for an example we might assume that we can control and influence the result of it by throwing softer or harder or in anyway that our brain recognize a pattern and keep tells us it's a way to win the game. So let's discuss about it.

Indeed, most gamblers do under the illusion of freedom. The ways the brain convinces itself to handle randomness are amazing. This is particularly so after repeated exposure. This is a well-known effect of psychology and often leads to gambling behavior. One of the underlying reasons why people keep betting even if they're losing is that belief in "it's different this time," or "I have a pattern." It was almost like a sort of hallucination. Belief in personal power obscures the fact that the game is random-not that the consequences are uncontrollable.

This can be seen not only with chests. But also in games like roulette, slot machines or card games. When in fact everything depends on the algorithm as chance. Just like in sports betting, people convince themselves that in-depth knowledge of a team will lead to victory. But in unexpected situations it can easily lead to losses.

This illusion frequently fosters dissatisfaction and risky behavior. Since people continue the run after losses Thinking they can "outrun" the system, it is very important to remember this and remember that although luck plays a role, But they can neither predict nor influence the experimental experience. Find them out of order.

Its funny you know, how some gamblers think they can actually beat the algorithm used in programming gambling’s random results generation. They all still arrive at the same end which is regret to have not conceived the thought in the first place. I have friends who actually thought they can master pattern in aviator game after lossing for a while all in the name of mastering the algorithm, they still ending up losing more even after they thought they have known it all. Gambling isn’t just like every other random game, if it was that easy I believe many person would have amounted millionaires by just gambling. With the example you gave it’s clear to everyone how gambling operate, the dice is indeed the best explanation to how gambling works.

You're to the point! It's really interesting. Where people can convince themselves that they have “coded” or mastered algorithms for games like Aviator, slots, or other forms of gambling. But in the end It was just a coincidence. And it is not something that can be overcome or surpassed by genius. No matter how long you spend trying to figure it out. There is always interest in the room.

What's interesting is how gamblers use human artificial intelligence to keep people playing. Concepts like the "near miss" effect and different prizes make players feel like they are very close to winning and encourage them to keep trying it tricks the mind into thinking “Try one more time and I'll get it,” even if the end result is a little random.

Gambling gives sufficient "wins" to keep anyone interested in the business but loses on time in the process. This is why it is so hazardous for those who believe they can find a pattern or beat the system. If it were as easy as we say, there would be more millionaires!

If we are talking about casino games with absolute randomness, then of course there is no control. The illusion can only arise within the Martingale strategy. For example, when you have lost 19 times and it seems to you that you should be lucky the 20th time. But the same losing result can fall out unusually long. Do you think that roulette cannot fall out on black 40 times? This is quite possible. The peculiarity of Martingale is that luck can also accompany you unusually long. This attracts many players and they think that they have found a method that will allow them to get rich. But the casino has limits on the maximum win.

even though dice is usually looked at as a complete luck based game, you could know some patterns as a dice player and overtime you tend to get similar outcome from the dice by using that same pattern. At least for dice I'm certain that it's one game we play frequently even without making use of money and it's usually the case that you command a certain number to come out and it does come out.

While playing you hear stuff like, Double 6! and most times it comes out that way. We've come to almost believe that when you command a particular number that the number must always come out while if you're casual, random numbers alone are the things that will regularly come out. Apart from purely luck based games, any other game that's not dependent on just your luck like the usual football games, what you believe in doesn't even matter. After believing that a game will go in a certain direction, The players will go to the Field and play what they want to play and bring back a result that's totally based on thier performance and not what you say, think or believe.
When we say the number that should come out and what happens is the number we thought before, I think it's just luck, maybe it will work in one or two tries but in the future it is very rare for our predictions to always be right, with a game that depends on luck there is no skill that will ensure you can win. And I think with a game that does depend on luck it indicates that skill will not produce clear results, maybe it's just a way to encourage yourself. A game that depends entirely on luck is a game that we don't really need to treat excessively, I'm sure out there there are those who have done gambling based on luck in a haphazard way but the results actually make them win and vice versa with those who try their hardest by thinking of many ways to win actually experience consecutive defeats.

Yes, that's actually an illusion that plays on our mind. Our minds do tell us that it's doable, playable and winnable at most times even if we're already losing.

But the right end of it, you'd see that there's something wrong when results are the same and we keep on losing it. With that, you have to change your coarse and realize that it's no longer beyond your control with the results.

By having that realization, you have to stop immediately or else, it's going to be a long results of negativity that will affect you mentally and emotionally.

When it comes to dice I believe that there is a level of connection that we get when we often throw the dice. These patterns work out most times, repeatedly that make us believe there is a pattern to it. It's not a complete fallacy. I have witnessed it when I was very fond of dice games. I dont know about other games but when it comes to dice a gambler can easily recognize a pattern, stick to it and it will keep working for them.

Nobody can control the outcome of gambling unless they're manipulating it, gambling is supposed to be based basically on luck. Most casino games like slot and dice are based on luck, there's no special skills that is involved to play and win, so any feelings of being in control while playing can as well be seen as illusions. But skills can be involved in sports bet, if a bettor understands teams strengths and weaknesses, it can guide them to analyze matches. Being overconfident and having a feeling of being in total control during gambling can lead to chasing loses and degenerate to addiction.
Gambling cannot be manipulated not even with spiritual activities. I have heard news about people who say they do see visions of games that they should bet on and when they do they win the bet. That's a big lie. There are other things we can do when gambling that will increase our chances of winning the game its not luck. If we are not prepared or we dont do the right thing we cant get lucky. So dont forget about the process that brings about the luck too.

So let's discuss about it.

I often call it the illusion of luck and hope that if we perform some kind of "ritual" before placing our bets and starting the game we would win some good amount. This could have been caused by a repeated occurrence in the past where we did something random and won and so we developed that thinking "illusion" that we can control the outcome of our bets if we repeat that behaviour. In slots it may be tapping faster or slower. It may even be betting on some particular days or even a particular time of the day. Anyways, I wouldn't blame anyone because humans have been coded to see patterns and we need something to hang unto in a game of uncertainty.

I personally do not that the skill based in gambling is an exercise on the dice games because when thrown the dice, can always revolve around and whatever number that comes up is literally a luck.

Although I still do believe that there are skill games which your experiences can build your minds up for you to defend possibilities of victory such as the card and cheese games etc.

Gambling is almost full of assumptions games that do still requires those tips of knowledges even though it is based on lucks.

That's what we call, Gambler's fallacy. Gamblers thought that there is a pattern that we, or we assume that we can see a pattern and so we are going to bet for example in baccarat game that Banker are going to win because it hit previously.

But we all know that in gambling, we are betting on the unknown, we don't know what will be the next flip on the card or what will be the number count in a dice in the next throw. And so we thought that gambling is not random, and that there is a pattern, but it truth, past outcomes will not dictate future outcomes.

Pretty sure that illusion either comes from blind confidence or because of the odds that the numbers show us. While they are true, I always like to consider that they are scenarios that can hapen because of the "infinite" limit that testing/calculating has (or at least that's how I think of it). A 1/10 chance of losing can also mean 10/100, 100/1000, and so on and so forth. And god knows what or where my games would land on really lol. I believe it, yes, and it's probably why I know that realistically, it won't work out unless I have a LOT of money.

On the other hand though, they can't take control of the results of their bets, but they can still control the amount of money they bet though. So that's where I started concentraing when I realized stuff like that.

Do gamblers really do that? I don’t think. Not at all.
All gamblers especially those to have gambled for a long time understands that, there isn’t no control or definite method to this. Most especially, the dice. Mehn, it’s a dice, how do you control that! It’s always going to be a coin toss although, you always have the hope that, several triers always draws you closer to a win or your prediction but, that’s how far it goes. It’s never up to you what the outcome might be.

A normal thing that you would really be able to experience or behavior on which it something that you will really be able to do normally or something that will really be coming up into your mind
on the moment that you would really be playing. There would really be those times that you have that kind of confidence that this would really be the way of rolling up those bets on which
you will really be applying some strategy on which you do know that it could potentially be able to beat up the game, but honestly this is something that couldnt be that proven out or
really be able to make yourself as a winner on which considering on how things set up then there's no way on beating up the house no matter what. All of those things are imagination.

The illusion of control provides a feeling to gamblers that they have a chance to win a game. It is just an illusion and should not count, but gamblers like me will like to hold on to any feeling or belief that we presume will be helpful in influencing luck our way. It is also due to this illusion of control that some people have made up superstitions in all forms about gambling; some superstitions are reasonable; others are completely absurd.

Maybe dice is not the best example if we want to discuss about the typically false illusion of control, but it's a good starting point.

I truly believe that the greater the belief that skill has a real bearing on the outcome, the greater the potential for falling into that illusion, so I wouldn't apply it to games based on pure chance like roulette, slots, crash... and yes, dice. I don't think we can talk about illusion of control in these games, but about magical thinking instead, because no reasonable person would truly believe that their skill would help them win in those particular games.

This is one of the most addictive parts of gambling, the seed in a gamblers mind that they have any influence in the outcome of unskilled games and that a streak of losses means that eventually the game should start paying out. Neither of these is true, but has cost people everything before they realize and sometimes they never will realize. Keep gambling to a small and fun outlet where you expect to lose every penny you put in, that is the right mentality to have. On unskilled games, which is pretty much every game a casino offers, you will never beat the house because and you'll only endanger your finances by playing these games too often.

Every gambler must have felt it, not only in games like dice, I personally even felt like I had control over a football match after I won bets there in a row. You know Tottenham's match when they faced Brentford?

I confidently placed a bet in the 25th minute of the match and was sure that Tottenham would score their second goal in the first half, not long after that, Brennan Johnson scored for Tottenham. It didn't stop there, after the match went on without any more goals until the 75th minute, I placed another bet on over 3.5 total goals, then again James Maddison scored for Tottenham Cheesy.
