I totally agree with the illusion word. After a long losing streak we have the illusion that things will change and a winning streak will come, but as you mention, it is just an illusion because the bad streaks can be really long. It is hard to understand that we must change our betting method or do something different because if we stay on the same track the outcome will not change.

Pretty sure that illusion either comes from blind confidence or because of the odds that the numbers show us. While they are true, I always like to consider that they are scenarios that can hapen because of the "infinite" limit that testing/calculating has (or at least that's how I think of it). A 1/10 chance of losing can also mean 10/100, 100/1000, and so on and so forth. And god knows what or where my games would land on really lol.
