I think investing in a promising altcoin for the long term is a good idea. Cryptocurrency is developing and Altos will grow in price.
I do not know who. For short-term choose Eth. Since in long-term investments if you study and analyze the market, you can determine that for periods from 1 to 5 years, it is better to choose bitcoin. Although everyone has his own opinion.
My opinion is if we want to invest in crypto in the long run as well as investing in Bitcoin, because I am sure it will be profitable. But I'm not sure of Altcoin, maybe for some.
Its not easy to be a long term investor in crypto, especially seeing the coin dip so hard and you will wishing you had sold them out at their ATH and gotten more of the coins at its dip

Depends on which altcoin you are interested in. There are promising projects that are suitable for long-term investments. But most digital coins are not worth your attention, because they are non-competitive and die, never getting to the proper level.
Sure, its a good idea to invest in altcoin for long term as long as the altcoin has a bright future. Invest in altcoin that back up by a good community and possible has a stable exchange. These altcoins will not go down easily and your investment will grow here.

I think that investing in an alternative cryptonomete is absolutely normal placement of funds. The question of what amounts to understand by investing. Having 1000 dollars you can invest in an unknown coin. And if you place 100,000 dollars, you need a deep analytical work. Yes. Although not all altcoins are worth investing in for a long term, most of them are only worth short term investments. There are quite a number of them that you can invest in for a long term, you just have to do your research and find one for yourself. Good thing is coins are way cheaper now than they used to few months back, so you can buy any good one and invest in it, then hodl for a long term.
