Valentin Homchenko, QA Engineer: “Test engineers must be engaged at an early stage of development”


We continue to introduce you to the people who are developing and improving IQeon. We are pleased to present you Valentin Homchenko, QA Engineer at IQeon!

Valentin joined the company in 2017, when a gaming platform was still being developed. He initially dealt with supporting IQeon communities. He works as a software test engineer and in charge of quality assurance of the company’s web-sites and platform’s games since 2019.

A disguised desire to crash the system and click where no one does, to find what no one can see, makes test engineers different. A QA engineer undertake various combinations of actions, repeating again and again with different devices, to carefully check a program and find as many bugs as possible, told Valentin.

According to the QA engineer, it is more complicated to test game products, as compared with websites. Web-projects usually have similar errors, and a test engineer can always access documentation and explore detailed description of the products functionality. There is a different situation in games. Errors can occur due to conflicts in code, and a correction leads to other errors. And sometimes it is impossible to predict that something goes wrong.

Testing each game has its own specificities. In browser games, specialists give much attention to the browsers work and note how tabs are loaded and scrolled, what screen resolution is used, how games are working with different extensions for a browser and so on. There are many factors that have an impact on product functionality. In mobile games, a test engineer looks for errors directly in a game, checks functionality and responses of a program to users’ actions.

There are two global trends that have impacts on development of gaming sphere. These are cross-platform and easier access to games. But the possibility to play one game at different platforms is good in theory. In practice, it leads to many errors, in particular, because of unstable internet connectivity. This problem is even noted for Google Stadia, told Valentin.

In the test engineer’s opinion, quality assurance of the product has to proceed in parallel with development or before this - at the documentation stage.

Test engineers must be engaged at an early stage of development. It allows to check the product logic in advance, carefully think users’ engagement experience through. Of course, it can’t completely rid you of errors. Bugs always happen. But it could significantly reduce the number of errors, concluded Valentin.

IQeon Development Update – November 19

Dear friends! We would like to present our new report on the development of the IQeon platform for the period from November 5 to November 18.

Important information


Gaming platform scheduled update related to changes in database structure and modules was held in November 16–17. The technical work has been successfully completed now. We apologize for any temporary inconvenience caused.

General platform changes:

• The platform optimization is underway. In particular, meta-tags for social media and messengers were created on a site according to Open Graph protocol.
• Changes in the platform chat: reduction of the number of elements in attachment; search by emoji was added. Also, the elements display settings were changed – it is possible to immediately add emoji in a message after its selecting in the field. In addition, automatic scroll function was added when a new message appears.
• The error with flickering when to switch between light and dark themes was fixed.
• Side panel display with the recent deposits, the best players of the month and platform chat were updated for mobile screens.
• Functionality of formatting user avatars was expanded. Players can zoom a favourite picture, crop an image vertically or horizontally according to platform format.

Games module:

• Our team are currently compiling questions for the intellectual game “Quiz” in English. They would be added in the quiz in the near future.

The crypto conference “The Capital” provided a platform for new partnerships

The conference of the world-famous crypto-rating service CoinMarketCap “The Capital” was held in Singapore’s Victoria Theatre on November 12–13. It gathered over 10k representatives of cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets, developers of coins, tokens, and various blockchain projects. Thousands of users could join online translation.

IQeon team was represented at the international conference by CEO Vadim Dovguchits, CISO Denys Havrylenko and CFO Vitali Bibik. They met with the company partners during two days and discussed further work, particularly development of AML/KYC solution and its implementation in a gaming platform. Also, IQeon representatives developed relationships with the leaders of industry and potential media partners.

Participants of the conference could join, along with networking, discussions on essential issues that concern all the blockchain community. For example, the Chinese regulators’ impact on the future of crypto economy, development of mining and Proof-of-Stake algorithm improvement, personal data protection.

The presentation of CoinMarketCap was subject to heated discussions. The company announced the launch of new features on their platform. This is the metric to compare exchanges and token pairs based on liquidity. This innovation will allow the resource users to expand opportunities for digital assets analytics and to reduce the significance of a rate, such as trading volume.

Anatoly Zhilko, Front-end Developer: “Statistics shows if the audience enjoys web design”

We continue to introduce you to the people who are developing and improving IQeon. We are pleased to present you Anatoly Zhilko, Front-end Developer at IQeon!

Anatoly moved to programming from web design. He engaged in page making initially and created web pages using Joomla system. Then, he began to develop sites on PHP after completing specialized courses. An online store site and a web directory of organizations are among large projects, in which he created front-end and back-end parts.  

At IQeon Anatoly deals with support of company sites and page making. Most of the products, including the gaming platform, are based on JavaScript, therefore the developer had to increase his knowledge on this programming language. Coding of an intelligent game “Quiz” was one of not-trivial tasks that he was faced with. The developer was in charge of quiz visualization and made corrections to game functionality.


"To copy mock-up created by a designer to the code totally is the purpose of a template designer. To do this, you need to understand how browsers display web-pages and thus know HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript according to recent trends. And furthermore you should take into account a lot of nuances related to design", said Anatoly Zhilko.

According to the front-end developer, a web-site design has to be intuitively comprehensible with convenient navigation through pages and adapted to any screens. Adaptability is a key component of a web-site layout because today more than 60% of site visits are generated through mobile devices.

"Web-site design principles are gradually changing. Five years ago many webpages consisted animation and catchy banners. Web-designers tried to fill out the whole free space. Trends have changed to the exact opposite now. Front-end developers seek to minimize text on pages, decrease multi-media and keep more “white space” (free space) on a page", told the specialist.

In Anatoly’s opinion, interesting design, quality page making and convenient navigation are things that attract users and motivate them to stay longer on a web-site. And statistics always shows if the audience enjoys web-design.

"IQeon gaming platform is still on the beta-testing stage and needs to be substantially improved. Our goal is to make it more comprehensible for users. We are developing the platform concept, changing functionality and layout each time when we get users’ feedback. Also, we are seeking to make the platform more readable for search engines because neither Google nor Yandex processes JS-pages. All of these require tremendous efforts put by a big team of professionals. There are such a team at IQeon,” stressed the front-end developer.

IQeon will take part in the crypto conference of the CoinMarketCap service – The Capital

The first conference of the world-famous crypto-rating service CoinMarketCap “The Capital” will be held in Singapore on November 12–13. It will gather representatives of popular cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets, blockchain projects, coins, and tokens founders. IQeon CEO Vadim Dovguchits, CISO Denys Havrylenko and CFO Vitali Bibik will be among the participants of the conference.

“The Capital” will take place in Singapore’s Victoria Theatre to discuss the future of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and the new generation of exchanges. In addition, CoinMarketCap will present its novelties. According to CSO of the company Carylyne Chan, it will deepen users’ knowledge on cryptocurrencies.

Famous people will be among the speakers of the conference. IQeon Development Update – November 5

Dear friends! We would like to present our new report on the development of the IQeon platform for the period from October 22 to November 4.

General platform changes:

• Loading speed of platform pages is being worked on to improve. Thus, static files cache settings and visual content of site were optimized.
• The section “In Development” upgraded with new games "Easter Memory", "Katana Fruits", "Stick Samurai", and "Halloween Bubble Shooter".
• Front-end of the platform home page was changed. Thanks for that, Russian and English versions are completely identical now.
• The error with display of full-screen mode in games was fixed.

Gameplay improvements:

• New questions were added in the intellectual game “Quiz”;
• The error, when the quiz displayed incorrect on iOS devices, was fixed.

IQN was added to cryptocurrency wallet


In October, the digital asset was added to Atomic Wallet. Application users can keep IQN and share it with others within the system now. Among the features of Atomic Wallet there are: access to the assets on different platforms and operating systems, users’ data protection via special encryption technology, conversion of assets without switching to exchanges.

Reminding you that IQN is also supported in Trust Wallet, MetaMask wallets and hardware Trezor.

Participation in the largest blockchain forum in Europe

This month, IQeon CEO Vadim Dovguchits and CISO Denys Havrylenko took part in the international forum on blockchain, crypto and mining Blockchain Life 2019 that was held in Moscow on October 16 and 17. IQeon representatives met with the current partners of the company in person, expanded the network of business contacts and established connections with media resources and crypto industry projects.

Draw with the prize fund of 600 IQN

From October 13 to 27 IQeon together with the partner CryptoGamingPool portal ran "GRAND GIVEAWAY MARATHON" stage of the contest. Participants had to meet several simple tasks related to IQeon.com gaming platform, CryptoGamingPool.com website and communities in social media. About 1200 people took part in the marathon and ten winners selected randomly received 60 IQN prize.

Contest for the best player of the week

Well-known among the platform users contest "Weekly Challenge" continued in October. Every Thursday we chose a game, where users can get 5 IQN to their gaming account when competing. Throughout the month, there were the following games: "Droppy Tower", "Flippy Hero", "BlackHole Rush".

The last game of October is "Bighead Run Run". The winner will be the player with the maximum points at the end of the week. The results will be published on our social media this Friday.

Backend Developer Rostislav Kravchenko: "Blockchain is a real challenge for developers"

We continue to inform you about the people who develop and constantly update IQeon platform. We are glad to present to you Rostislav Kravchenko, our backend developer!

Programming and game development have always been a hobby for Rostislav. Study at the Belarusian National Technical University at the Faculty of informational technologies and robot-technique significantly expanded his knowledge and helped to find its professional area – programming of the server part of sites and applications. Python and C++ among the main working languages that Rostislav uses.

His portfolio is sufficiently varied. He was involved in the development of the record-keeping system for an industrial enterprise, has been developing the backend of a site with several language versions, worked on applications related to the protection of information, finalized an application to calculate the mass of cargo on the conveyors and much more.

At the company Rostislav is mainly engaged in the backend of the IQeon platform.

"Programming languages improved all the time and their standards evolve either. This leads to the fact that today it is possible to use almost any language to complete different operations. For example, backend can be based on either Java or C++, but it will be easier and faster on Python. Generally, this language is more suitable for product systems. I like Python not only for its functionality but also for syntax. Compared to other languages, it looks shorter and pure because it does not require additional characters," said Rostislav.

According to the coder, it is necessary to strive to higher productivity of applications and request processing speed. This might be done in different ways. For example, spend a lot of time for development and create a perfect ergonomic system that will save hard drive memory. Or you can write a backend quickly, but use more productive hardware that will compensate disadvantages of the system. In both cases, the rate of work will be approximately the same. Both options are two extremes. So, it is necessary to try to achieve a certain balance between backend writing and server equipment.

Rostislav has to deal with the real professional challenges at IQeon company. All of them are related to blockchain technology, which was used in the development of the game platform.

"To store the information and keep data secure, this technology is quite promising but very complex. Blockchain is a real challenge for developers. And those who want to introduce it will need a lot of special knowledge to create an algorithm for blockchain or even just modify it, - IQeon developer considers."

Blockchain Life 2019 gathered crypto enthusiasts from 70 countries around the world

The largest international forum on blockchain, crypto and mining Blockchain Life 2019 in Europe and Russia, gathered about 6,000 participants from more than 70 countries around the world. There were representatives of various spheres of the industry: mining, trading, futures trading on Bitcoin, cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets.

IQeon representatives also took part in the international forum in Moscow.



"We went to the forum, first of all, because of networking – to communicate with colleagues and collect new ideas.  For the few days of Blockchain Life, we managed to meet with the current partners of IQeon, expand the network of business contacts and establish relationships with media resources and projects of crypto industry, - said the founder and CEO of the company Vadim Dovguchitz."

Blockchain Life 2019 showed a great interest in crypto and blockchain topics not only from specialists of the industry, but also from a wide audience previously unfamiliar with this sphere. Participants discussed general market trends and the future of blockchain technology at the forum area in Moscow Expocentre. Questions on government regulation of cryptocurrencies and cybersecurity caused hot discussions. Panel discussions on these topics continued for two days in non-stop mode.

Diana joined the company as an advertising communication specialist. Thanks to her materials published on the corporate website, on social networks and thematic portals, platform users always stay informed about IQeon events and learn something new in our official communities.

IQeon Development Update – October 8


Dear friends! We would like to present our new report on the development of the IQeon platform for the period from September 25 to October 7.

Games’ module:

The section “In Developing” upgraded with new games “Cars” and “Candy Match 3”. The release date will be announced shortly.
Games description on the platform were improved. Now up-to-date information on the page of each game is provided for users in two languages.  

General platform changes:

• A display of the number of symbols left was added to the platform’s chat. Thanks for that, users are notified about symbols left when writing a message.

• Display of the best players of the month was fixed on the platform. Whereas previously the list of leaders was formed according to data until the present day, so now the number of wins in matches is displayed for a longer period of time.

• The error with the mute sound during a game was fixed.

• Soon, there will be an additional opportunity for users of the platform to get IQN as a bonus for gaming activity. To date, the new functionality is at the testing stage.  

Gameplay improvements:

• The number of bullets available at the beginning of the match in "Survival Shooter" game increased.

Digital asset IQN added to “Atomic Wallet”

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, digital asset IQN was added to “Atomic Wallet”.

Every “Atomic Wallet” holder can keep IQN and share it with other users within the system now.
