For me, its better to buy when it hits the market or exchange. There will be bounty hunters dumping their coin and that is the time you can get a coin with a decent price. Investing on ICO is very risky and there is a possibility that it fails.Compared to a coin that was already on the exchange, you will have something to sell even if the price go low while investing in ICO wherein you won't have anything if it turns out to be a failure or a scam.
In my oppinion , its depend on situations. ICO project which has really good fundamental will have bigger chance to success. If all people thrust it then buy in ICO is the best choice. I buy new promising coins, published on the stock exchange, and also buy on ICO. You can not always keep track of all ICO, especially some very quickly collect the necessary amount. It is always better to diversify risks.
Simply put, buying at ICO is taking a risk especially in this bearish market. Will rather invest in coins/tokens listed in the exchange.
well in the bear market like these days, i prefer to buy in the exchange rather than in ico tokensale. it's a hard year for ico though

It depends on the potential of a project. If it has a successful ICO, has the good review by the community I think you can not buy their tokens with a cheaper price on exchange site. Bounty hunters are smart guys, they can realize this.#Datarius
I believe, bro, if the price of a coin in a successful project is indeed rather expensive. because they are again seeking more profits from investors, who have bought their coins. so after the coins they sold were expensive then they had seized profits which can sometimes be quite large. but it all depends on the project again.
I'd say it depends on the market we are in, currently people avoid ICOs as they have proven to be terrible investments way cheaper when they hit a often decentralized market. Nevertheless I do believe some small cap infrastructure projects currently raising funds will prove profitable
ICOs have better offers and the prices are attractive than the prices you find in the market so it could be better to buy during ICO but only if you make sure that those projects have potential
From the way I view it, I think it is better to buy during ICO reason being that that is when the price is lower than the market. Although there is every tendency that tge price will drop due to many factors but a true investor will desire to hold till when it will yield some pfofit.
Buying on ICO can help you secured a big chunk of profits, if the project is really strong and polished it can pump just a few days after being put on the market for sale so that gives you a great advantage, though the opposite can happen too.
I think it totally depends on a currency you are willing to buy, but, as for me, I prefer participating in ICO, the price is much better than buying it for exchange price. But it's riskier, because you can't be one hundred per cent sure, you will see your money again, but the situation is pretty much the same with all kinds of investments.

Strong ICO project, especially on the bullish market, after listing on exchange usually worth much more expensive, than ICO price (ICON, Quarkchain, etc.). So, I guess need to look on the market conditions and search for the strong ICO's. Nowadays on the falling market many strong projects is near ICO price and better way to buy from market.
1 year early it was more profitable to purchase during iCO, now even hypy ICO after listing fall down immediately...

it's very difficult to choose a good ICO because we don't know exactly which ICO will succeed or fail. if I personally prefer to buy coins in the market because it will be safer, especially when almost all coins have decreased, it would be wise to choose coins for investment now.

The only reason the price dumps so hard is because of the bounty holders. When they first hit a good exchange they will pump pretty good if it is a decent coin, with a strong community. Bounty holders then sell and keep trying to be cheaper then the last guy etc. I believe bounty payments should be dispersed in payments like once a month get 10% of total due. And make them wait 3-6 months before sending the first payment. Give the investors a chance at the market first. If you invest YOUR MONEY your not going to want to sell for cheaper!
