Bitcoin and ethereum are all smart choices. If you want high stability you can choose ethereum. You take the risk and want as much profit as possible. Bitcoin is a good choice.
for long term purpose, which is better to invest in , Bitcoin or Ethereum ? Lets discuss that ..
I believe in the possibility when bitcoin losses value it will drag other coins as well, so in my honest opinion i think bitcoin is better long term investment than the ethereum. 
In my opinion, Both of them are good for long term investment. You dont need to compare them
both is a better investment as always better diversify your assets always cause its lessen the risk for your investment.

Not only now always bitcoin is the best one.Since the price of bitcoin is now in the moon ,so only the person with huge dollars in his pocket can buy the bitcoin with high cost and get profit from it.So even you can try to Ethereum. ETH also had good potential to get in to the Sky. Try of Ethereum now and inverse in bitcoin when the dump.
I think both will be better, but if should to choose one of them, I prefer bitcoin. we know bitcoin prices continue to rise over time. moreover there is news that the month of December will be held fork and will born bitcoin silver (but I dont know this info is true or not). I think the issue will again raise the price of bitcoin.
In my opinion, a humble opinion is better to invest in bitcoin because it is the most profitable in the long run and looks more secure than eth
bitcoin and etherum have the same risk by the way. but can you give me the example of how the bitcoin will be more secure than ethereum. Some hacked case in ethereum is not happening on the ethereum chain. That the 3rd party's fault just like parity bug.

Both of them are the same. It depends on your trading skill. However, I aslo have to say that Bitcoin is better for the long-term

its still x10 away from becoming more "stable"
when it will be 100k, to jumping by 1k will be only 1% so it will be more stable and can be considered more as currency
about ethereum i dont know if it will do x10 so fast

and ICO's are always selling back to the market tons of Ethereum after some time

My option would be Ethereum. I do believe that bitcoin will ofcourse stay the top cryptocurrency, but the profit that you could get with ethereum will (i think) be higher.
ETH or maybe take a look at other cryptocurrencies emerging right now. 2018 might not be all about BTC and ETH
Both ethereum and bitcoin are good for investing money. They are both profitable interms of long term investment. So its better to invest in them both. But right now bitcoin is better than ethreum, so try to invest more in bitcoin, the rest of your money in eth. Because they are many alts that is very good.

Personally, I have invested in both, though more in BTC. In addition, it depends with the exchanges available to you because in my case, I have to transfer Ether to BTC in case I wanted to cash out.
according to my plan if you want to invest on high level investment then you need to invest more money in bitcoin and some money in ethereum because the rate of bitcoin is very high as compare to ethereum but you should also need to invest in etheruem so if you can face a loss from one coin then you can recover it from other coin easily. so you need to invest in some different places.

We should both have since bitcoin is for investment nowadays and good for savings while ethereum should have now for soon its value will increase too. As a trade we ahould alwaya have eth backup since we didn't know when we will need to gas up are wallet for some dump time of other alts. I Believe Bitcoin price still can up so far....

Price of Bitcoin is to high for now, so it means your chance to double or triple your money isn't much. So go with Eth is better.
for longterm witn price accpect of 100 000 in few years would be btc the best

Who knows? Bitcoin is unpredictable however that $100k won't happen in just a snap as it will surely take decades but what meant to happen will happen so keep our hopes to this.
Bitcoin and eth are great for investment so go for both and don't think twice. These two are already prove itself in the market as well as for the people who entrusted their life savings. Anyway, my portfolio mostly consist of btc and eth and I'm holding it for mid to long term.
As I have observed eth has a promising profits as it has a potential to grow more.It would be good to invest for it now because it is not yet that expensive like bitcoin.But when we say holding and investing for a long term,I would like to invest more in bitcoins for it is less risky and a very strong cryptocurrency that was constantly increasing its value despite of its volatility.
