In my opinion I think Ethereum will offer you the best long-term investment. Bitcoin is likely to appreciate more within the next couple of years, but that is due to it's popularity, the public in generally just now picking up about the blockchain and the first thing that comes to everyone's lip when talking about Blockchain is Bitcoin. When people will have learned more about how blockchain is working and what is possible due to that, they will research about alternatives to Bitcoin and find out that services such as Ethereum have vast more applications than just transfering one coin to another person. It's just a matter of who delivers more value. If Ethereum can create an applications for about anything on the blockchain, including doing what Bitcoin is already doing, then it's reasonable to assume that's it's more valuable and sooner or later that value will reflect to ETH's price.
I would say Bitcoin is heading back up again after the Bitcoin V Bitcoin Cash so short-term its on the up. ETH is also getting more adoption so long-term may shoot up as ICO's and ITO's grow.
If you want to make a sure income (it could be low) better to invest in Bitcoin with it's value for the past weeks you may predict whether the price will go up or down but in my own perception, if you want to have a long term investment you will go to ethereum. Yes, the movement of value is quite slow but as the second among the coins it can compete with bitcoin in the next years.
According to my opinion bitcoin has high potential than ethereum.Bitcoin is for long term investment and Ethereum is for short term. Bitcoin price is increasing day by day.
According to me bitcoin is the best and after bitcoin ether will will be the next one. It will very good if you invest in bitcoin. Because bitcoin now increasing day by day. And probably bitcoin will reach $8-10k in the end of this year. So it's better to invest in bitcoin if you want to get a hug profit.
I would choose Ethereum anytime for the future. The ecosystem is growing and they are just scratching the surface for the Ethereum possibilities. A great future lies ahead.

For investment like 4 years bitcoin is better but if you want to hold it for more years etherum offers you nowadays bigger earnings. cheers

Short term with Bitcoin??? So funny! Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency has highest value in the cryptocurrency market, it can not increase its value easily like altcoins. Because, it needs to has a good reason and its trending will have many troubles on the growth road. As far as I know, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency for long term investment and Ethererum also like Bitcoin. and ethereum too. but if do you want to invest shorterm invest in bitcoin.
long term, bitcoin is best the store of value out there, short-mid term, who knows where is the next pump..
everyone suggested invest in both, I think to invest in both is indeed the right choice. But if you feel it is too late to invest in bitcoin as prices look high, you can already invest in eth, because I think the current price is still low and that could increase when bitcoin prices are stable or tends to fall.
i would do both so even if one drops you still have the other. never throw all eggs in one basket. better split up!
Well can someone correct me that, technology-wise, Bitcoin has a huge technological difference with Ethereum, with the latters capability to create tokens for others to utilise with. Maybe that is the main reason people also want to join the ETH bandwagon in spite of a strict competition with bitcoin.

I would probably choose Bitcoin over Ethereum. Although both would be fine choices. Bitcoin though has spreaded its tentacles far into platforms. It is the coin that most projects and services accept. It isn’t going away anytime soon. A lot of analysts say that the price will go to $10K and beyond.
I would do both 50 / 50. That way if / when one of them gets hacked and and the hacker steals all of the coins and money from one.
I personally think from those 2 choices, ethereum has more potential. I highly doubt bitcoin can double in price any time soon. On the other hand, I see it very likely Ethereum can double in price or even more in near future.

It's much better to be more diverse. You should not just concentrate on bitcoin and ethereum. You should focus on other coins and he much you willing to invest to each coin. It's never a good idea to put everything in just one or two baskets. Also rather make smaller profits at a time. Reduce the risk that way. Bring lots of smaller safer profit and it will add up.

MY opinion you should invest in Ethereum because the price of bitcoin is too high, many specialist identified the bitcoin is going to reach equivalent $10,000-$12,000 in year 2018 while Ethereum was guessed reach $1,000 in 2018. So if you invest in bitcoin potential you are going to get 100% profit, ethereum is 300%

For me both coins are good coins and have the potential to rise up the value so either of the two you can keep for the long term and can make you rich for time pass.
