Anyone here familiar with Google play gift cards? I keep getting the following error:

Quote
Couldn't redeem this code. This code can only be used in United States.

I remember having this issue the first time I redeemed a card but I fixed it by changing my country (in my account settings) to the U.S and using a VPN. I tried to do the same thing but still getting that message. Any thoughts?

Okay so I looked it up, some of the solutions were:

- Change your region currency to USD. This seemed to be the most goto option which seemed to solve it.

- Using a secondary device and formatting it and setting the country as US to default although I think you don't need to necessarily format, you can clear your Google play data and try it, it might just work. There's one reddit solution here: https://www.reddit.com/r/googleplay/comments/pad3xp/couldnt_redeem_this_code_this_code_can_only_be/

Actually both! My subscription is about to expire and I would like to renew it. Cheesy
-snip-

Well, personally I've never had any issues buying the EUR cards from Bitrefill. I'm not that familiar with their refunding process, but it's a struggle when you're paying directly from your crypto wallet, then it may be a better idea to buy using your account balance.

As for redeeming the card, then you shouldn't have a problem either as long as you choose the correct currency (EUR) otherwise it won't work.

@bullrun2020bro You mean buying the cards or redeeming them?

By the way, the DAZN cards are very funny now. If you are not logged in, you see the cards as available in Germany. If you log in and click on add to cart, they are no longer available. At least I didn't waste any transaction fees again. Progress!  Wink

Yes, I'm looking for the U.S one.
I sent Bitrefill an email and I was quite surprised at how quickly they've responded back:
- It's safe to say that the $15 denomination will still exist Smiley

ntion its region, so I'm assuming that it's probably Netflix USA. If I was correct, then looks like the "Canadian version of Coincards" still has it in stock [I prefer to not vouch], and based on the following quote, you can use it in your account.

Yes, I'm looking for the U.S one.

The link you gave me is not leading anywhere though (404 not found) and searching for "netflix" in the Canadian version is not returning any results: https://coincards.com/ca/?s=netflix&post_type=product

 @OmegaStarScream

The €25 cards are too high? Because I see them available on Bitrefill

-snip-
So I don't believe Netflix stopped issuing GC vouchers, it's probably coming from the partners they're using as a middleman

Did someone try the €25 cards?

I'm not sure about the CAD cards, but for EUR, I know they won't work as I already tested that, IIRC the gift card currency should match the currency of the payment method linked to the account. 25 EUR is basically no different from 30$ anyway.

Does anyone know what happened to Netflix smaller denominations? I used to buy 15$ cards from both Bitrefill and Coinsbee, but they're now gone, from both. Not sure if it's a coincidence and they're simply out of stock or Netflix is no longer issuing them? I checked all the services listed, and none of them have Netflix GCs, so I'd appreciate it if someone could point me to a service that sells them.

Going to guess that with the price increases that Netflix has done / will be doing the $15 cards may no longer cover a month of service by next year:
https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/06/22/netflix-could-raise-prices-again-soon/
So getting rid of them beforehand may just be the 1st step in doing that.

I think over the next few years we are going to continue to be seeing a lot of $1 here and there price increases on streaming services till they find the consumer pain point.
Which then means (I think) that we are going to start to see things like this where gift cards start at larger amounts.

I've had issues with Netflix and DAZN gift cards on Bitrefill a few times. I usually buy the smallest amount available, but the last three purchases I have made, my purchase was refunded. Unfortunately, the transaction fees were lost. Pretty disappointing. When I clicked on "Buy", the vouchers were shown to me as available. However, the purchase failed and subsequently the gift cards were displayed as "Out of Stock".

The thing is Canada and The USA use different currencies...
Netflix vouchers are targeted, for example, Netflix EUR may only work in Eurozone. The same as Amazon vouchers.

@DaveF: I just checked: for €1000 at Amazon.de I'd pay exactly (up to a few sats) the preev.com rate. But for $1000 at Amazon.com I'd pay about 2.4% more.

Amazon.nl is even more fun: a €10 coupon costs €11.04. The .de doesn't have this markup.

Has anyone noticed that the BTC to USD price for bitrefilll has been really bad vs. the shown preev & coinbase rates for the last few days?

They always had a bit worse of a rate, and I do know that they are a business out to make money so I did not let it bother me. But twice in the last few days I was going to buy a gift card and wound up thinking "Nah, too much of a cut"

And then, a few hours later it's normal again.

I've also reached out to them through their live chat, they said it's a technical issue and they're working on it, no ETA given though. I'll make sure to post an update once its working again.

Myself when I gave it a try, I tried to use the ID in my referral link, (after /?code=) and got a message saying "Number .......... refused for operator bitrefill-deposit-eur"
Then I tried to use my email and got a message saying "This product is a beta product that is not enabled for your account".

I supposed this Beta version wasn't enabled yet to users. When I contacted them on Twitter to ask about it, They told me they'll escalate this to the engineer team. So I guess the guys have forgotten something before opening the beta version

They added Uber recently

    Code:
We are currently working on a new improved Gift Card. Check out similar products

I'm going to assume that this is the new improved version[1][2] they were referring to?

I couldn't find any announcements though, nor can I understand what the "account number" is all about since users don't seem to have any unique IDs.

You could print the gift card for someone IRL or share the URL. I discovered the feature not long ago, each voucher has its own URL. https://www. bitrefill.com/order/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
All you have to do is to give the URL to the person. Shrink the URL with Bitly and alike to make it more swag
    (example: bit.ly/happybirthdayhoney).
Slight warning: I wouldn't expose the URL with gift code to an URL shortener, that way you risk someone else accessing it.

Out of topic but I'm just curious. Do you guys still have Amazon Pantry in your country? It was so good

    Amazon Pantry went away everywhere.

    https://www.theverge.com/2021/1/8/22220331/amazon-pantry-discontinued-prime-grocery-delivery-services
    https://progressivegrocer.com/amazon-prime-pantry-phased-out

Here in the US the food delivery is now part of Amazon Fresh / Whole Foods. Same thing, different name.

Back to giftcards (for the US people) any ideas for crypto -> giftcards for a place that sells tires, other then walmart?

Yes, it's possible to be out of stock, but it's usually mentioned on the page and you can't purchase any..
Congrats if you won the gift card but I wonder how you won it considering the site says the winner will be announced on November 30th

After the movie Back to the future, we have Going to the Past?

(the post has been deleted while posting my reply to the person)

    @bullrun2020bro

I've never experienced it before. I directly log in and buy what I need. Maybe some gift cards are only available to registered users?
Registered users = IP collected. For some vouchers, I can understand (PCS, Toneo, etc), but if it works while behind a VPN/VPS there is no sense then

    Guys.

Bitrefill removed the Bitrefill Balance Card? :/
It's the 3rd day I log in to check but don"t see it anymore (EUR, as well USD). It was something useful when you wanted to avoid volatility. I now have some bucks on my account that I can't spend since there is always a minimum purchase
    Am I blind or?

Is it possible that the general search settings have changed recently?

As LoyceV said, you can always just fund your account but this just added a step to the process.
The only downside is you can't get one and give it to somebody which was what I did a few times when I was out of gift ideas.

At a 100% guess, it probably had something to do with the way they were dealing with funds and how they were being held in terms of banking regulation.
But that is just a guess.
