I prefer to hodl my coins for long term. I believe given a long period most of the coins I hold will yield a better profit so I don't touch them until enough profit is accumulated

50/ 50 works best for me. 50% of my portfolio is for long term, the other 50 is for short.
So I dont have to think to much when I buy. Even if its a little off like 55, 45, I'll still be fine.

It is really fun to see which one does better over months and years.

I don't call it risk but rather a smart way of diversifying my portfolio. Normally, i invest for long term with the large cap coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, EOS etc depending on the trending coin at the moment. The short term investment goes for newly listed coins as these coins normally follow the pump and dump trend, hence the smart wins at the end of the day.

both are equally profitable if you know how to use it, in doing short term trading you should not be too ambitious to get a profit, while doing long term trading that you need is patience

It depends on the situation when to do long term and short term hold. If short term won't work i switch to long term. I dont sell in losses, better to hold it and do a long term investment. But do this thing only on promising coin like bitcoin. Because we all know whatever happens still bitcoin price will get higher.

As i observed, doing term investment is actually an interesting strategy of a wise investor. But short investment is also great to participate, and I don't think wise investor will neglect this kind of work, as we all already know that not all ICO is a scam and a disappointment project to participate because many are already made a successful decision to this. So I would suggest that instead of choosing which is better among this two why not participate for both, and on the part of choosing is for what is the good one to invest for a long term and short term.

Your gain percentage depends on your trading strategy. Some already sell their holding for a little percentage of profit because for them it is already a gain. For long term investment it depends if you bought at its lowest or a but cheaper price. And sold it at its peak.

I prefer long term that's why im holding my bitcoin because I know someday its going to be worth it. Im also holding some coins temporarily for profits but most of the time these coins are only for short term. The best coins for long term hold are Ethereum and Bitcoin. Because if we will choose long term it will be more nice for us because i am sure that we can make more money with that, and just like holding our bitcoin for long term that is very great because i am sure that the value of bitcoin is we will rise very high and we can make many profit by long term. I know some new ICO's that have been in a success recently and the value of their tokens are amazing. For such futuristic coins, they usually benefit the investors only if patience can be implored.

Most of my choices now are long term, and even when I make short term speculations I do them with coins I am interested in long term, so the chances to lose are lower. Invest wait for first big exchange and sell half of coins, if it will go high. And start to search some new ICO to investment. Before you invest in a certain coin, you already know why you did it and because of that you also know whether your investment in such a coin is for long term or short term. When you invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum or Waves for example, you know very well that all these coins will not easily go down and will acquire more value with time. So it is better if you hold them long term. But when you invest in coins that are not as solid as the ones mentioned, you may do so because there is a very big announcement or update that will for sure cause a big pump. But when the pump already happened, time to sell is the best thing to do. Panic and commissions can lead to loss. When we look at the examples in the past, we have witnessed that many coins multiply in the long run.

You should know when the right time you buy or sell the coins.  In short term trading you will not earn big profit and it's hard to earn, because most of the coins are for long term investment. And in the long term investment here is great income.

Well, it all depends on your approach. If you believe in crypto-currency and you know that it will grow -you can leave it for a long time. I think the experience of guys since 2012 has shown that it means long)

Long term is the right choice because this method is more profitable than short term. But it depends how accurately you monitor the value of your portfolio.

Right now I am holding good coins for long term hold. But of course it will depend on situations that will happen in the future. I may sell some of them or all of them or maybe even buy more.

both good, depending on your desire to invest. If the long term is definitely more profitable. If the short term is more risky and not very profitable.

I personally try to keep 75% in my long term hold (1+ years) (BTC, ETH, Iota) and then use 25% for short term (< 1 year)/day trading type holdings.
for me i will keep 30% in long term and the rest for short term investment, because i personally didn't have any courage to hold the coin for a long time Grin Grin
