All depends on your free time and patience. I cant hodl anything except BTC for long-term. Now I'm looking for few coins to invest part for long-term on ICO.
long term: BTC, POLY, POA, ETH, NEO, ONT, SUB, VEN
Some coins are more suitable to hold for long-term such as Neo, Ethereum and some others are not. It all depends on the market situation, as market behaves differently in different times.
short term and long term both are good to earn profit.

Long term - Bitcoin and Ethereum. Both are perfect assets.
Short term - altcoins like Ripple, Cardano and IOTA that are good for trading and buying something.

I agree with you..when I do my research on crypto currencies I found out that both bitcoin and etherium are good.. they were the leading and best crypto ever.. I will adapt your advise soon.. Im preffer long term because i like to gain 300% profit not only 30% 40% etc. But when we talk about good personaly ability (pro trader) even you the type of short term you still can get a big profit too.
I think that day trading is more profitable, but holding some coins is also pretty good because the rate is rising. I wuld buy some NEO.
Nowadays you have to hold some coins with great future and sell some with no future.

i do focus on long term benefits mostly but there are some oppertunities you need to avail in short term, the cnclusion is when the price of any strong coin falls just hold the coin and wait till it rises again

long term or short term has the same goal that is to generate profit only.just different time in the same way.
I do prefer long term hold of my altcoins because cryto currency is now making its name is the economy, more and more people like to invest into this kind of investments. Due to the high demand it will affect the price and causes it to rise, that would be great if you do believe in your coin and held it in your wallet for a long time.
Coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum and even Ripple or Stellar i believe should be added to your long term investments. Other coins are tradable on a daily basis if you are aware of the market behaviour.
A mixture of both. I have long-term projects I believe in, but if the chart shows a lot of selling signals I will gladly sell something I believe I can make a profit on.
