Yes, undoubtedly ethereum has become the second most popular cryptocurrency of all, and that has made it a reliable option for all crypto-enthusiasts who see in ethereum one of the strongest and most reliable cryptocurrencies on the market.

However, it seems clear to me that there are many speculators who always assume that the new cryptocurrencies will end up removing the oldest ones, so at this moment I see many investors betting in the long term on cryptos that compete for the ethereum market niche as NEO and EOS, however I still believe that Ethereum has a lot of space to grow, and I personally will continue to accumulate as many ethers as possible.

The flexibility of any cryptocurrencies that every single of them have atleast 8 digit decimals alone is enough making your statement wrong, even if the price of Ethereum suddenly increase to 1 billion dollars, people could still invest with any amount, it's not all about trading or gaining profit, it's about how technology making our life as a human easier by giving so many features and benefits.

In my views, Ethereum is now the most popular altcoin and next to bitcoin in terms of rank. The major benifit of Ethereum is that most of the ICO's were using ETH address when applying for a signature bounty campaign. Other benefit of Ethereum is that it has much faster transaction compared to bitcoin where in people would make use of it's service and it has lesser transaction fees.
