I hope you guys can read it because an hour ago there is a user who made a well thought-out comment that convinced me that because the Pacquio vs Golovkin fight should happen.

Yeah, thanks for that link, perhaps they just spin around what Freddie Roach said because it doesn't really makes sense for him to eye a shutdown against a bigger and dangerous GGG. And I remember him saying that Manny can't make 155 lbs. Anyhow, a fight with Crawford for Manny will be great, both are champions and Manny is the ticket for them to go to the next level of boxing, that is if they beat the great and legendary Manny Pacquiao.

So maybe OP can lock this thread as it seems this match is not feasible for the next coming months. Maybe open this thread again if we will see the light that there is possibility of this match. Obviously, people's choice here is still Pac. But if there will be no match, then, it is useless to talk about them.

According to this article, it looks like Roach's statement was taken out of the context and this fight will never happen.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum also said that Crawford is aggressively eyeing for Pacquaio as his next opponent and reading between the lines, looks like they are now working on it. Keith Thurman is also calling for a rematch and hoping he will be included on Pacquiao's list before the legend retires.

But for me, it's not about the "next" fight but "last" fight. I still want to see that Pacquaio's last match on his career will be against the monster GGG. There are probably 2-3 more fights before Pacquaio will hang his gloves. If the usual timeline will be followed, it will around 4Q2021 - 2Q2022. 42-43 years old, might too old for a 160 lbs weight caught. Each result on Pacquiao's next opponent also plays a big role if he will continue to fight.

This fight is very interesting.

Agree, our government here right now is not in stable right now, there are many problems happening and they can't even address it with good actions. So I hope that before fighting Golvkin, Pacman focuses first on the government, and besides our fellow citizens will hate him for prioritizing the fight than the health crisis. We, the Philippines, are still watching his war, but I think few will only help him if he succeeds this year.

If he will fight GGG for the Philippines, like, the winnings will be donated for the funds on the health crisis, it'll be a good idea but for personal that can be used for his political desires this upcoming 2022? oh c'mon. 

Both of them is high caliber boxer, but I don't think that Manny will be able to fight this year or next year or even for the next 3 years, since he is in the government now, I think he will focus on this pandemic, and will not go into training not until PH will be good again.

Barrera was a smart boxer but Pacquiao was just too strong for him and beat him in 11 rounds by stoppage from Barrera's corner.
I wished I have bet on Pacquiao that time, he was an underdog in the fight with 1-4 chance and that would be a sweet win if converted into betting odds.

I also saw that it was a less matured Pacquiao, he was heavily relying on his power but as he aged he was more matured and we might not see some good knockout wins from Manny but he is still the most entertaining boxer for me.

well, even at the current status of Pacquiao, I think he can give a good fight on GGG at a catch weight and I believe he will win.

Above were good fights of Manny Pacquaio but for me "Pacquaio vs Barrera 1" is the best. He showed no respect and no mercy to the great Barrera then. I'm awed with the punch combination he threw on that fight 1-2-3-4-5-6 lol.

If that Manny who fought Barrera in the Alamo Dome, then there's a chance he might win against GGG but of course in a catch weight.

Maybe we can say that they did really well in marketing the fight, it was so hype so it attract a lot of viewers both in PVV and those who went into the arena. It's the biggest fight of Manny as he made over $100 million in that fight, it was boring, yes I agree with that as Manny can't hit Mayweather with a clean shot but if Manny were able to knock out Mayweather them probably we can call this the best and the biggest fight of Manny, well deserved to be a sold out fight.

These fight where he got the most of  his high caliber highlights so I will agree with you that the bout between mayweather is not the best one for him since I don't know if I'm impressed  for seeing that match although the fight their fight is quite interesting still it doesn't give any convincing angle that that fight is the best, mayweather is just running around the canvass and I'm not enjoying seeing that one.

I'm sure that is not the best fight of Manny because he lose in that fight and he made an excuse saying he got an injury during the training.
It was called as the fight of the century but definitely that is not the best fight of Manny.

They are talking about the revenues generated and Manny vs Mayweather sets the record and its going to be very difficult to break, PPV and live gate buys. But in terms of Manny's performance, I would say that vs Cotto is one of his best, specially the first 3 rounds and it is comparable to the great fight of Hagler vs Hearns.

I think we are overrating this possible fight.

Manny has a lot of best fights and I don't think Manny vs. Mayweather is the top of it. I think if we will be talking about the most earned fight of his, I guess I will be taking it. There is a lot of fights that we can tell that can be the best, and in my opinion, I would go with Manny's fight and Miguels Cotto. There are articles that say that Dela Hoya Vs. Pacquiao is great but I think his fight with Cotto is also amazing.

Fans never expect this fight, if without Roach weird imagination, this talk would not be possible, but of course as a fan of Manny I like to see him fight a good boxer and this time it's bigger than him, it reminds me of his past where he fought big guys, so if this is gonna happen, we can see if at his age, he still have that strength to beat bigger boxer. TBH, I see this as a dangerous fight of Manny too, he is fighting a beast here, but my man loves this kind of challenge so I'll bet on him if indeed it's gonna be realize.

That's the thing we have to wait and see, if this fight happen, it should be the best fight of Manny after the Manny vs Mayweather fight, probably the biggest fight of GGG too, that would give him a good payday, the hype is rising, so people really wanting this to realize too.

The chance of fighting Manny is a good stepping stone to every boxers who still seeking for more stardom, Manny's charmed from this
boxing world already established whoever he fight it will bring good reflection to the fighter.
Win or lose the fighter will have a good share both money and fame.

Manny is not calling GGG as far as I know, and the only boxer that I recall Manny calling is Floyd. And it's the other way around, boxers are calling Manny because of the sweepstakes, just like what Thurman got, biggest payday of his career.

And calling GGG is the brainchild of Roach, similar to when they call Oscar back then. Manny just say yes as a boxer.

This must be a Great fight if happens,and i think it will be since there are too many opinion regarding the Golovkin vs. Pacquiao fight.

Crawford has been longing to have a ring with the 8 division champ so why not let it happen second to this Fight if not succeed.


Well we know Manny regarding money deal,he is not like mayweather so the chance of money fight is not if Pacquiao is the fighter.

I agree that Spence and Crawford is the best choice for Manny since obviously they campaign in the same division and they are the current and defending champion. Why they wanted GGG? more money I guess and probably they have a better chance of defeating him his he is slowing down already, but still dangerous.

Both Spence and Crawford are now at their prime and if Manny could beat both of them, similar to what he did against a young Keith Thurman, then Manny's stock will elevate higher and then probably chase Golovkin for his last fight and win. That will be the perfect ending for Manny Pacquiao's career.
