Is there any way to distinguish between positive and neutral feedback/trust for a transaction?

For my one and only transaction I left positive feedback/trust (and they went on to get two scammer negatives for the same post - go figure) but the person I traded with didn't put the BTC value they'd risked sending to me first (or the reference) and I still have three zeros.

Does it show as zero as the other person isnt on my trust list ?

Thanks.
Positive feedback is bold while neutral feedback is italicized, so he sent you positive feedback. It would show as 3 zeros to most people because he is not on default trust, but if you put him on your trust list then your trust score would look higher (for you, not for most other people). As far as I know, risked BTC is not a factor in determining trust score anymore.

Hey thanks for that - you learn something new here every day.

Trust is not moderated. You should try to work it out with him personally. If you cannot work out a fair resolution then you should open a thread in meta. If you go straight to opening a thread then you are just trying to start trouble.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/buy-bitcoin-with-cash-deposits-at-most-banks-in-the-usa-with-bitcoin-brokers-237164  (My review thread)

I run www.Bitcoin-Brokers.org and have been on these forums for 2 years. In that time, this forum has helped me sell $7,000,000 worth of bitcoin over the course of 6500 different transactions.

Every single one of these 6500 transactions has been perfect. The buyer always received what they paid for. My review thread has 80,000 views, with hundreds of comments, and there is not one single complaint over the course of two years.

A couple of days ago a member of these forums contacts me because he wants to join my team of sellers, and have me direct my buyers to his bank account. After private messaging back and forth for a couple of days, I told him that I would not allow him to sell his bitcoin through Bitcoin-Brokers.

He then posts a negative ratings on my trust saying things like I am a scammer, and running a ponzi scheme, and that I cannot be trusted, and that I am an asshole. (it literally says that now)

Now I have those dreaded red letters next to my profile. Any new buyers visiting my previously perfect review thread could easily be scared off when they see the trust rating suggesting that they should exercise caution when dealing with me.

It is not fair when I run a perfectly honest service, and a disgruntled person who has never transacted one single dollar with my service can smear my reputation.

I have repeatedly apologized to him in an attempt to bury the hatchet, and repeatedly asked him to please remove the negative trust, and his simply refuses to repeal his negative feedback.

I worked so hard for 2 years to treat every client with the greatest of respect, and then a competitor can simply come along and trash my reputation seems completely unjust.

Is there anything that a mod could do to help me with this?

Does the trust rating ever expires?

No AFAIK.

No. In fact it will grow from 'strength' 1 to a maximum of 10 for every month that has passed since the rating was left.

What about some people use new accounts to defame me?

I was defamed by a stupid guy before, I felt strange, I never talked to this retard man. And he gave me negative feedback

Is that possible to remove that fake feedback? Luckily my current trust is good, not negative.

Assuming you are talking about this?

Feedback is not removed, but this is why there is a trust hierarchy namely default trust at the moment. That combined with the lack of reference link, no proof given by the person leaving you negative feedback, and the fact that they are a 6 post newbie with 0 posts interacting with you, their feedback would be disregarded by anyone in their right mind.

Thank you mod, yes I am talking about this newbie account, fortunately his defamation is disregarded.   Cheesy

What's more, if the person who defamed you turns out to be a notorious asshole, you might even end up proud of the negative feedback.  I got neg-repped (speciously, I hasten to add) by tradefortress back in the day.  Now I think it's a kind of mark of honor.

So to earn a trust rating you have to have done trades with other members of the community? Is that what I am gathering from all of this?

Consistent successful trading is the most popular way to garner trust from other members, but certainly not the only way. Think of how you'd trust someone on a daily basis offline...buying and selling goods can lead to a trustful relationship over time, but so can consistent "trustworthy" behavior (i.e. following through on your promises / keeping your word, adding value to the community, etc). Personally, I value a member's historical behavior more than I do their past trades.
You should not trust someone just because they make "good" posts. Many sociopaths are very smart people and will routinely scam.
So someone can just click on my account and give me a positive feedback rating just because they like what I have to say? I always thought that you had to do successful trades or borrowing from people to earn a trust rating.  I would love to start building my trust rating on BCT talk account because I do take a lot of pride in my account and work really hard to deliver the best opinions that I can on any subjects or threads I post on.  But another question I have to ask is when a lender asks for collateral and says that a third party escrow can hold it, how do you find a third party escrow person and how would you know that they are trustworthy? I wouldn't mind possibly looking into taking a small loan to start building my trust rating but I have not the slightest clue on how to go about it.  Could someone please answer these questions for me? That would be greatly appreciated Smiley Cheers
Someone can give you a trust rating for any reason they want. The majority of trust ratings you get should be from actual trades, although there can be exceptions (for example someone sees that someone is trying to scam, or if someone is otherwise considered to be trustworthy)
Well thanks for answering that for me Smiley I really appreciate that because I was wondering because some guy named CryptoLTD gave me a negative trust rating and his reasoning for it was "Blatantly obvious" and I've never had any problems or discussions with this member so I don't understand why he would give me a rating like that? Also no one seemed to acknowledge the trusted third party escrow and how to obtain one or how to know that they are a trustworthy third party for using when giving collateral for a loan?  I would really like to start building up my trust rating that's a given and I would also like to increase my coin ratings which from what I've gathered I have no idea why I don't have a higher coin rating and I'm only a member? but I believe there is another thread for that if I'm correct? Thanks again for being so kind in answering all my stupid Noob questions everyone Smiley Cheers

I'd recommend Monbux for escrow. I have had good experiences with his escrow services. His thread is here - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/active-monbuxs-escrow-services-since-2014-security-upgrade-legendary-631008
