Hi, I have 33 posts but still detected by 28 activity. is there need time for verified my activity here?

And I have 1 merit, when I got it, should I used it after got it or can I save it?

Need some help regarding of my level here. Thank you
activities are given every two weeks. in the next activity distribution, you'll get another 14 activities as long as you made a post inside the two weeks period.

And I have 1 merit, when I got it, should I used it after got it or can I save it?
you can't send your merit but you can send sMerit. you can get 1 sMerit(sendable merit) every time you get two merits.

Need some help regarding of my level here. Thank you
I suggest reading this thread Newbies - Read before posting all the basic things that you need to know about the forum, merit, ranks, activities, forum rules, etc... are in there.

Does this still working?
The Merit system works fine. The fact that you didn't earn any Merit proves it Tongue

I wonder why.
so do we earn by humiliating people?
I can't help receiving Merit for my sarcastic post. If it means some people thought it's worth reading, I can agree to that. If it stops another user from plagiarizing, that's a win!

I treat people the way I think they deserve. Usually that's friendly and helpful, sometimes they deserve to be humiliated. Nothing wrong with that, you can't expect everyone on the internet to only cuddle you, right?

These guys you humiliate don't even speak english well and you seem to have fun doing it.
It's absolutely fine if someone doesn't speak English, they can even use Google Translate for all their English posts.  I'd much rather Merit users than getting them banned, but I also enjoy reading a forum without plagiarism and spam.

Why did you bump this thread with a shitpost?

And did you not notice that the post LoyceV quoted resulted in that member getting banned for plagiarism?

Maybe you should read the rules and get a feel for the forum before criticizing it.  Or keep on as you are, posting in the altcoin section, where I'll never see anything you write.

should I look for another post with humiliations to ask in an appropriate place? btw why maxis are so stupid? These guys you humiliate don't even speak english well and you seem to have fun doing it. I know the system, a small club of people who considers themselves very special. I asked to see if you guys realize what's wrong here.

Harsh, but I like it.

I've noticed that established members tend to earn more merits than members with no reputation whatsoever--
Exactly. Although, there are some exceptions in the development board where some experts who don't hang out to bitcointalk very often, have similar amount of posts and merits.

It's quite simple: if you use the forum as a forum instead of an ATM, you can stop creating useless posts so your Merit-to-post ratio will improve.
We should do that! Is there any BPIP page that shows a merit-to-post ratio? Not just the average merit you get on each post; it'd be too simple. I'd like to see something more complicated. A person having 1000 posts and 100 merits shouldn't be shitpostingly equal with 10 posts and 1 merit.  Roll Eyes

Exactly, earning a single merit is not a big deal for anyone who has the ability to read and write.
Hate to say it, but I disagree to an extent.  I've noticed that established members tend to earn more merits than members with no reputation whatsoever--and you could argue that more senior members tend to make better posts, but I don't think that explains it all.  Newcomers have to work probably 1.5x as hard as Legendaries or Hero members to earn merits (at least I'd estimate it to be that much extra effort).

And the fact is that there's a finite amount of merit floating around at any given moment, and add to that the fact that there are people who don't give out merits for whatever reason, and the fact that there are so many active members, and you get the result that it's pretty damn hard for lower-ranked members to earn enough merits to rank up.  I don't know where that thread is that listed how many members had ranked up for a given week, but the last time I looked at it, there weren't many members at all moving from Sr. Member-->Hero and Hero-->Legendary, not to mention that going from Jr. Member to Member isn't easy either.

So it's very easy to say "just make good posts and you'll earn merits" but that's just not the case.  You have to do that, of course, but there are many other factors involved.

He probably shouldn't warn people about the dangers of plagiarism, either.  Smiley

getting a +1 merit here is harder than winning the nobel prize xD
Earning merit is very simple if only you follow the rules and regulations, there are many new users who gain merits over here in the forum so you can still try your best to post and gain it for free.
...and yet at this point in time, you have exactly four merits after twelve hundred and eighty-eight posts.
It looks like someone hopes to earn Merit with his generic post in Meta. I was just checking his history:

People earn merits not by following and "rules" nore "regulations", rather, simply from posting honestly and with conviction on just about any topic here in the Forum.  Try it sometime.

In addition to activity, everyone now has a merit score, and you need both a certain activity level and a certain merit score in order to reach higher member ranks. The required scores are:

RankRequired activityRequired merit
Brand new00
Newbie10
Jr Member301
Member6010
Full Member120100
Sr. Member240250
Hero Member480500
LegendaryRandom in the range 775-10301000

You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people.

Certain users are designated as "merit sources". They can create new merit out of nothing, up to a limited number per month (which differs per source). I will not be posting a definitive list of merit sources (so that people don't bug them too much), though you'll soon figure out who they are if you pay attention.

There is currently no such thing as a "demerit". I'm hoping that the positive merits alone will be fine. I could add demerits pretty easily later on if necessary, though.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.

Do not beg for merit excessively.

Useful infographics

Forum users have helpfully created some infographics to explain the merit system:
paxmao's infographic
ibminer's infographic
8Habits's infographic
JetSet11's infographic
zentdex's infographic
alia_armelle's infographic

If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.

Trivia:

For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.

If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point.

There are stats here, and you can find someone's merit summary by clicking the "merit" link on their profile.

Love it how admin says "Do not beg for merit excessively.". So it's ok to beg for it from time to time? hahaha
Not really, as you'll be violating the forum rule of no begging whatsoever;
7. No begging.
The "no begging" rule is for "please send me Bitcoin" posts. My interpretation of theymos' post is that it's okay to ask to review certain (good) posts to be Merited. I encourage this in Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source.

Exactly, just try to make good quality posts, better post less but higher quality than more but lower quality.
However, I know it is hard when you spend a lot of effort to create good post, and nobody appreciates it.

You are saying right mate! It hurts when you are making good posts but no one appreciates you. But man must not give up and keep trying. So, we have to keep posting good posts. One day we will succeed.
It is difficult to achieve new ranks but it is not impossible. Success takes time and efforts.

i know that i'm new member here but from my observation, It's not that hard to get a merit from a post.

You just need to write a good quality one and people will see what you want to say and get credit from it.

However, It's not that hard you just need to work and enjoying it like i do  Grin Grin
