@RivAngE just keep posting and enjoying your stay on the forum. Is not that nobody didn't appreciate your efforts, is just that people that saw it didn't or they did but didn't have smerits as of then to merit you. Don't compete with anyone just enjoy the forum as we watch bitcoin price and development achieve greater success. Keep contributing positively as you're doing even though you don't get instant rewards, luck might just be on your side someday and your account will get reviewed, rewarding all your quality contributions in the process.

Don't take me wrong, I don't want to post in the forums BECAUSE I want to get merits or BECAUSE I want to get paid signature posts.
I want get paid for signatures BECAUSE I would be posting either way and I like being merited BECAUSE people like my posts... it's a matter of feeling the achievement!
By the way (a bit offtopic), it was like 2 weeks ago when I missed a weekly signature payment (worth about 40$ after the price hike) for just 1 less post!!! My point is, I'm involved in the forums without counting my postcount or even my merits. So your "secret" is something I already know!

However, I can't help the feeling of discouragement when I don't see my merit count increase with the rate I was expecting it to after I've put so much effort... but I guess I might have too high expectations!
Some of my posts took me about an hour because I was researching a matter and double-checking info from different sources before I post, so if after a day when I check the replies in this thread I see 0 merits, I'm thinking to myself "Didn't anyone appreciate this?"

I'm sure you're putting even more effort into your own posts, I believe you deserve your merits and even more than what you have, but I'd like to avoid comparisons to any other user, I don't want to fight with anyone about who is better or who deserves what! <3

Thanks for the acknowledgement("you did received some merit yourself") but need more to be able to merit good posters on this forum. Franky speaking it wasn't my intention to Stockpile merit to myself but was looking the best time to do that, thanks for concern.

You can't decentralized spend your merits only smerits and you giving this advice sounds funny as you did received some merit yourself (have at least one smerits for weeks now) but haven't sent any. So you should lead by example by meriting deserving post when you see them (you have 5smerits now) go put smile on other people's face.

No one. It's "airdropped merits". When the merit system was introduced, everyone received the minimum amount of merits according to their rank.

Sure, RivAngE has some kind of point that there can be something a bit whimsical about merits, but at the same time, it does not seem healthy to either get psychologically obsessed with getting merits for decently good posts and it comes off as a bit petty to post something like "I wished I could receive more merits for my 'valuable' posts."  It seems to take some credibility away from your posts (and even insulting other members from making their own assessment about the "value" of your post) when you self-assess them as "valuable."

Just showing up and posting on a regular basis does seem to cause merits, and reminds other members of your existence.  Sometimes, I come across a member that I want to merit, but I don't want to merit based on merely one good post that I see, so I put the member on a "watch list" that I maintain, so if I don't see any further posts from the member after a certain time I might remove the member from my watch list - or I might actively go through the members prior posts to find a post that I believe is worthy of a merit.... So, there certainly can be some whimsical practice of the merit system that can be partly attributable to considerable individual differences regarding what they deem merit worthy and/or just if you catch them on the right day (merit sources included).

Couldn't imagine how difficult the race was before these ranks where attained? Merit get harder since the implementation of the Merit system and i was found during these days. How i wish!!!! i could reverse the hand of the clock back, it would have be easy for us the lower rank members to rank up.

Personally, i envy you guys for being good citizen of this forum, have just gone through some of your works on the forum and fond amazing stuff for the future generation, kudos. Since my present on this forum, today was my best and most luckiest day ever  for getting some appreciation from good citizens of this forum to merit some of my post, i never dream of this before now, but this just boost me up, for good work to earn more and to rank up.

@RivAngE: you should fix your quotes. Posting something without checking it doesn't look good, especially when you're complaining about Merit.
