I can't connect to the miner with the IP address. It keeps telling me that it takes to long to connect. (can't ping the address) http and https does not matter.
I have a switch now so it should work.

I did find a 8 gig SD card lying loose in the A2  Huh  And one in the SD slot as well.

Please help.

I'm seeing load average: 0.43, 0.25, 0.25

Nothing to be concerned about

I've been playing around with the miner for some time and one blade is clearly better than the other.
One blade with 432 good cores generates ~1.5% HW errors, the other one has 423 good cores and ~4.7% HW errors.
I don't know what the difference is, it looks like they put one A grade blade and one B grade blade in the Mini.
The temperature of the bad blade is always a few degrees higher.
Now I run the good one at 1280 MHz and the bad one at 1200MHz, this gives me the best results.
On average 3.7% HW and  26850 WU. pool hash rate is ~29.2

The RPI is more than adequate for this task. Its not doing any real work

No, it is not doing real work itself, but getting new blocks, verifying the shares and sending them to the server, is maybe more than it can handle.
When I do this on a fast PC, I clearly see very big spikes in processor activity when a share is being send.

The plus and minus of the connectors on my computer PCU are reversed from that of the A2Mini, so I will have to change that.
But the output of the MINI PSU is +/- 12.15 Volt, and the output of the PC PCU is +/- 11.85 Volt. Would that .3 Volt make any difference in Hashing speed?

I don't think it will make any difference because the 12V is down converted to 0.85V supply voltage for the chips anyway.

So... WU is not important anymore then ?

No idea, I don't even know what cgminer means with WU.
Poolside hash rate is more or less the number of accepted shares multiplied by the stratum/pool difficulty, that should give a good measure.

WU is your Work Utility. The actual output of the miner. The rate of Diff1 shares solved per minute. So obviously, the higher it is, the more shares.

Since my Zeus does 41k @ 43 Mh/s and the A2 does a mere 26k @ 31 Mh/s, I say the Zeus is more efficient.

Blizzard ckuster does 11.6k @ 12 Mh/s.

It is not so straightforward to compare because Zeus uses an older version of cgminer.
There is a big difference in behavior between different cgminer versions.
You always have to look at the hash rate the pool reports, because that is where you get rewarded for.

The RPI probably has a negative influence on performance because it is slow like hell.
They use it because it is a cheap way to control the SPI interface on the blades.

The A2Mini arrived an hour ago. All seems fine because it makes a lot of noise  Tongue
Can't test it yet because my switch has not arrived yet as well as the wifi dongle.
I hooked it up to the Internet cable and tried to tether the wifi of my phone to the PC but that didn't work.
For now I have to be patient...

if you try to use PC to tether through your phone. you need to create a bridget on your PC ethernet and wifi adaptor.

once you create that bridge, your pi will be able to access your phone's gateway

you need to chagne your pi to DHCP too.

Was just about to order another machine but when going to pay by bitcoin I noticed that you add another $200 on top. Plus you are now charging for shipping. What's going on?

Hi, you should not pay a BTC order that is older than 1 hour.  We never charge more money on it, but BTC price has changed. so you get more .

please a new order to get the lastest realtime price based on BTC

Had the same thing but I figured it was due to the difference in price of the buy and sell orders on the exchange.

6% hardware error... Please fix your image..

It is either a software problem or a hardware problem.
If it is a hardware problem you can't fix it with another image, only hide it.
Anyway, the Zeus miners are even worse with respect to hardware errors.

True but the orginal software had less hardware errors so i quess its software.

What is more important is the pool side hash rate.

Yes, I agree. The poolside hash rate is the only thing that matters.

I have to say I'm very happy with the A2-Mini. And I would like to buy another one, but the prices are dropping as we speak.
GAW now offers a 28 Mh/s miner for $2300. All I need is a good offer. Wink

Can I connect to the miner and see the interface and change things through the wifi dongle?

I think it will not work with an USB WiFi dongle, you have to connect it via UTP.
The IP-address is listed on a white sticker on the case.

Actually, this USB WIFI dongle works for us : http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-Wifi-Adapter-Raspberry-Pi/dp/B00EZOQFHO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401973217&sr=8-1&keywords=pi+wifi

you can plug it into the front dock of the miner.
