Hi all,

Can anybody recommend a LGA 1151 mainboard which is running 8 (nvidia) GPUs with SMOS?
The mainboards specially designed for mining purposes are all sold out so I'd like to know if maybe a ASUS Z270P would work.

I have spent hours in trying to get a 7-8 GPU setup work with a MSI Z170A with SMOS. The best I can achieve is 3 GPUs. Angry

Thank you in advance!

My console reports all cards set to 115 watts even though most of them are set to 75,75,75,75,115,155 in OC settings. Any clues? Temps are running way too high currrently and none of my OC changes push through. Help - anyone?

Ummm...Changedmy mobo from asus z270-p to asus z270-a, using the same usb stick, and on dashboard i have a new rig why?

That is exactly why - because you changed the motherboard.
Man that was fast:)). Thank you, sorry for the dumb question then:). any idea on the pcie order on asus z270-a, have 8 gpus

I have a z270-a too. Din't bother to check the pcie order....Why would you need it? You can see and configure everything you need based on the dashboard information.
Cuz i have a Frankenstein rig

1x armor 570 elpida
2x pulse 580 hynix

Damn, that is a complex rig Smiley I would suggest, maybe adjust oc settings slowly until you find the perfect setup.

One tip is: From what I saw, first 3 PCI-e are 16x ones, taken from the CPU down. Rest, I don't know.
Smiley). I'm swiching off all card exept one and checking wich in hot=). I ll share with you
So for those interested:
Starting from CPU down I have: GPU3,GPU0,GPU5,GPU4,GPU,GPU1,GPU6,GPU2. GPU7 is in the m.2_1 port. Hope it helps

SMOS released new update today for Claymore 10.4  !

but claymore has already 10.5 with these fixes :

- applied another workaround for ADL, you must not see "Temperature control thread hangs" message now.
- added version for CUDA 9.1.
- now miner shows a warning if you enabled full remote management (-mport > 0) and did not specify -mpsw parameter.
- now miner shows a warning if you specified default ETH wallet (from default start.bat).

i had some issue with fan & power management randomly happen after rig restart (Fan Stops but gpu mine) on 2 or 3 rigs... or temperature shows 500 degree% Tongue Cheesy:D

Ive been running SMOS on my 3 rigs in the last 3 days and the performance is superb and very newbie friendly. This is my first real mining operation after trying mining in the last 2 years. this time i will 100% stick with SMOS with all my future rigs and will recommend to my fellow newbie miners.

Anyone else have an issue with their network getting completely taken over by their miner?  I can only assume it's getting flooded with packets or something.  I'm running SMOS with 11 video cards (eight 1070, one 1070ti and two 1080ti) on an ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ motherboard and sometimes it's after 5-10 hours, sometimes it's after 4-5 days but eventually, my entire network will be overrun by my miner.  No wifi or wired connections will work until I power-cycle my miner.  I've tried different routers and switches.  My friend with the same motherboard and SMOS is having the same issue in his network at home.  I brought my miner to my office where we have some insanely nice Cisco routers and fiber internet, still, it eventually will just completely block all internet traffic.  I ordered an ASUS B250 Mining Expert motherboard, should arrive tomorrow.  Fingers crossed that this is a motherboard / network adapter related issue.

I found this reddit thread on this topic, they are all running the same motherboard with SMOS:
