Is the overclock function actually work on Simplemining?

I'm using the RX OS dagfix and tried changing the settings to something like core 1150, mem 2200, undervolt 900, my hashrate is lower than normal. I replicate this with afterburner, the results are the opposite. I tried bring the value close to stock, my hashrate got messed up, it's like I'm better off not doing anything.

I even tried with just undervolt 975 --> 950 --> 925 --> 900 just to see if it is working. My cards are drawing the same power of the wall as stock. I tried by bringing down the powerstage to 6 --> 5 --> 4, it's still drawing the same power. It's like nothing has changed.

Each time I change the overclock settings, I hard reboot (power off and on) the rig just to see if that works. Apparently it did not.

I have a 8 GPU RX 580 rig and a 12 GPU RX 580 rig which is currently trying out using simplemining. I can't seem to get overclock to work, either drop of hashrate or power stays the same.

Can anyone advise what I did wrong?

Same problem with 12x RX580 rig.
You can check my config, its stable.
Powerstage 1, undervolt 800, stable.

Overclock working, but undervolting not.

What wattage draws your 12x RX580 rig from wall?

Good afternoon. Sorry for my english.

First I want to say thank you very much for the work done,
you have greatly simplified our life.

I have a mine of 8 farms, all on RX470 but different manufacturers.
5 GPUs per farm. ASROCK FM2A55 Pro+ Socket FM2+ motherboard.
I have been using your system for a very long time,
and everything was fine. Last month, I updated the software for
dag-fix image and the farms began to show a very good increase in perfomance.
Approximately +15-20 Mhs per farm. (about +160Mh on all mine).

But the last couple of days a nightmare began.
All farms literally broke for a day. One by one.
This is so - the farm reboots, the system boot symbols appear,
but the characters are much larger in size than usual,
then a black screen appears and that's it. The system hangs.
I experimented a lot with the data carriers, put the system on
both the USB flash drive and the hard disk, everything was repeated.
Now I have moved all the farms to the old RX image (not dag-fix).
And I lost a lot of productivity. Although everything began to work more stable,
the problems remained. Now farms periodically reboot. It would not bring much
trouble if I did not get a video card falling off. It's strange that
everything worked fine for a long time. I would like to return to the
dag-fix image. Perhaps there have been some programm changes lately?

Which miner would we use for VTC?  One of the 2 CCMiners I assume, but which one?

Both are compatible.

I use the skunk one.

However, soon VTC will have rewards halving and VTC is currently mined heavily.

Unless you have 50k sols and above .... you will need a lot patience.

Another way, in Windows, you can use the VTC One Click Miner (OCM)

Hello,

I am about to boot up my first rig with SimpleminingOS, however, I have one question where I need an answer.

I am currently running Windows and using afterburner to limit the max power (set to 85%). How can I duplicate this on SimpleminingOS? It also has to be done before the rig starts mining as my PSU is to weak to handle 100% load. Is this possible?

I would also like to know if its possible to duplicate these settings from afterburner as they give me good results.

Core +150
Clock +625

The rig is 6* GTX1070.

Thanks

Hello,

I can't find any MD5 hash on the website or first post, seems like there is something wrong with my download.

Name: simpleminer-RX-v1118-kernel4.11-16.60-noaer.img.zip
My MD5 hash: de880eff9321ad086baefac73c8d3f2c

What is your MD5 hash for this file?

Thank you!

THE WORLD'S FIRST FIXED MONTHLY ALLOWANCE PLAN
Nice OS you made it exclusively for mining purposes, very light and can give GPU more power. I'm going to use it when I'm about to setup my own rig. Cheers!

I have 3 rigs running SMOS, all identical with 13x 1070s on ASRock H110 Pro BTC+. While 2 of my rigs have been running solid without issues, one has been having issues I'm having a hard time troubleshooting. For example, it was running fine last night before I went to sleep but I woke to it "off" in SM(red), still on, just not mining & the only way to get it back up was to manually reboot it.

I've tried lowering OC settings all the way to 0 with no effect. It actually seems to run better/longer while being OC'd higher. Anyway I've even considered buying a SSRv2 but would rather not is I can get it working like it's 2 siblings.

Is there any way I can better troubleshoot this? Maybe certain logs I could look through or perhaps a way to better determine differences between these rigs?

What you asking for has nothing to do with devs. Some rigs tend to be unstable due to risers, hardware related issues. Also some gpus's are way worse than others. Figure out which GPU(s) crash the rig and disconnect them to make a final prove. Also changing risers slots sometimes magicly helps. I would start from GPU tho. If you mine using claymore try changing version of it. I found out that one version for particular rig might be great while not so for others.

Does it boot? That's normal. Only one config.txt file on the windows-readable partition. The linux partition is a different file system, ext*, than a windows file system, fat32/ntfs.

Hey, before I used win32imager to flash img's to hdd's... now Etcher doesn't see the SSD as removable device and I can't flash the zip with the previous imager... tried to extract the img from zip but 7zip throws few errors during the extraction... I flashed the SSD anyway and it opened a partition with "config.txt" but I don't know if that will work because rigs are not here.... and going back and forth not possible... any help appreciated...

i like smos but iam, using it for amd no problems here Smiley love the way how to manage rig simple and easy and also very stable if you get the correct settings try first without undervolting and overclocking if it runs for a few hours you can adjust settings...

my box 13 gpu mix rx470/570 core 1010 mem 2000

350 mh/s 7 gh/s decred dual mining @ 1860 watts and a very good share rate thats the imprtants point dont try to overclock 2 much like 2250 memory or 1300 on core clock in dual mining it simply wont run 4 a long time espeacialy if you try it with 13 gpus if one hangs total rig can crush or more bad if its frozen !!!! dont try to get highest reported hashrate keep an eye on pool if you get correct shares i had an issue with a rig 7 cards rx470 it reports 190-200mh/s to the pool but it counts for 150-160mh/s only had to reduce the mem clock on 2 cards to 1900mhz and then problem was sloved now it counts 190mh/s on ethermine

sry 4 bad english Smiley

Good evening, looks like you have some experience with AMD cards. Could you please provide stable dual-mining overclock settings for RX480 8gb samsung cards? It works fine in eth-only mode (1200/2040/920mv/power stage 5) but I am unable to run dual-mode, it crashes within first 60 seconds - 1 random card just starts showing 0 mhs and rig reboots (or turns off). Thanks in advance!
