Get Paid Crypto To Walk or Drive
July 21, 2016, 10:55:14 AM
Hey y'all, we will have a few announcements over the next few weeks regarding updates (particularly on what we are doing to prevent downtime in the future), and some other cool stuff.

If anyone has any questions/comments/concerns or suggestions for new features feel free to give Ranlo, Dogedigital or I a PM and we will get back to you quickly.

Thanks for using MoneyPot!

Are there any plans to increase statistics around investment portion?  Graphs and more information would be ideal.  It would be cool to see a breakdown of which casino's are making profit and which aren't all on one page.  Tracking the change in profit both individual and total would be nice.  Also, would it be possible to have real time changes on the bets page so I don't have to refresh to see if it changed?

Apps that use the explicit flow option (i.e. server-based operation) have the option to submit +EV bets backed by the app bankroll. The app owner would need to deposit to the app for this function to work.

Wouldn't it be more efficient (but less secure) if you just had your own bankroll running on that server?

Your own bankroll would have to come with your own deposit and withdrawal backend and game integration engine, so I wouldn't characterize it as "more efficient" or "less secure".

Lol that doesn't even make sense. You dont understand how moneypot works if you think you should have your own bankroll running on the server. There so many flaws in that idea.

So whats the use of the deposit function there?

At this point, there's technically not one. There are ideas floating around on how to utilize this in the future though.

That is correct for app owners, however I believe he is talking about players depositing directly to apps

It does have some difference, the funds that you deposit to an apps will let the apps to have full control over it and of course if you trust the operator of the apps then it is fine but still the best security is to put your money on moneypot and only deposits on the apps whenever you want to use it

just try to talk to the matter and not for your sig

the user asked a very correct question because if you own an app you have the app balance (earned coins) that you can withdraw and there is also an option to deposit and he was wondering why is there an option to deposit. and stingle explained it very well because he is an app owner

easy as that

Can someone please explain to me how casino developers get paid?

I know there's a part where you deposit and withdraw but i'm not entirely sure how the forumlas/algorithms work.

When you create an app, the app has its own balance. 50% of the house edge of every bet is instantly added to that balance. When you view the page for apps you own, you'll see the balance and can withdraw it to your personal account (and MP) at any time.

So whats the use of the deposit function there?

Well, it instantly adds the balance to the app, so it saves a few seconds for a player, but as Ranlo said there isn't really anything different about it compared to just adding to your normal MP balance.

I think they need to improve their security measure and move this more secure server, make them sure to keep it online with stability, it is terrible situation what is happening from last few days, DDOS attack and going down again and again.

We have already discussed this multiple times. Our security is top notch, that has never been the issue. DDoS attacks are an inherent flaw of the internet. The last few days was not due to a DDoS attack, we haven't been down due to a DDoS attack for a while now (even though they are still hitting), it seems our last preventative measures against them seem to be working.

If they want to show their honesty to the investor then they should provide a compensation for all the investors with some fixed interest rate.

The downtime didnt really affect investor so there is nothing to compensate. From your logic, it seems to me that you are saying because of the downtime, investor is not getting any profit, am i right on this? This is crazy logic, the investor could as well lose their money even if the site is up

Why is the downtime not affecting the investor and the app owner?? I thought everything came to a halt and there is no gambling done? Or i am wrong that the site is not available but there are still ways that people can move around their funds?

People were (and are) free to pullout their funds. And there actually was gambling over the timeframe of the deposit issues, albeit much less than usual.

First of all I want to say that I think MP staff, in the end, handled things well. Smiley It seems that all the troubles they had, was largely due to an unfortunate coincidence of different circumstances. But MP staff jumped on it, and sorted out all stuck deposits, questions, etc, that people had.

But I hope MP can answer some questions I still have about how things went.

  • Shouldn't MP, considering such a huge maintenance, have kept the old setup still standby. So in case something goes wrong or takes too much time, it can switch back to the old system?
  • Why was such a big maintenance planned, when not all support staff was available?
  • MP is not just for fun and betting, people actually use it as a wallet. They should have access to there money, always. Especially MP app owners who have lost revenues over almost a week. Why is it not taken more seriously to have an uptime close to 100%?
  • Ranlo says sometimes an update consists of "nothing to update you on". I do not agree with that. Sure, you don't have to gives us information about all the inner workings of MP. Some is sensitive company information. But you can name issues, time lines, who to contact when having questions, just stay in contact to the outside world.

For all people who think I'm just whining, somebody said that before in this thread to me, please don't reply. When you have a business such as MP has, you should be prepared to answer such questions.

Although you can see that i am quite supportive of MP, i have to agree that some of the things you say are true. Looking from the point of an investor, even i am also quite concern over the maintenance because the longer it is, the lesser the profit. I am not afraid of the team running away but i also hope that updates can be more timely.

At the end, i still have to say that i believe this huge decision from MP would be a wise move and MP will achieve greater heights.

All these things show that they are not professional in maintaining this kind of massive investment site. What has happened was terrible for the site reputation. I don't think any maintenance will take such a long time if they are professional to do it. Hope these things will not happen any more.

What does honesty have to do with comping investors? Depositing was down for 4 days, during which we comped every person who had a deposit pending over that period.

While we strive for 100% uptime, it is unreasonable to expect any site to have 100% uptime, as no website has 100% uptime. Our uptime over the course of the time we have owned the platform has been pretty good, especially considering we are under DDoS attack on a daily basis, though there is always room for improvement.
