"You are are child" or something like that they said to Max Verstappen, crazy what they have said to him.
The race was fun to see in the latest 10 laps, and with hot temperatures Ferrari got some sprint as expected.

Mclaren is clearly the best car in the F1 right now.

Piastri for the first time in his career won the race after a long drama between him, Lando, and Max. He really deserved it. But once again, McLaren finished the race quite chaotically, especially Lando, he was increasingly impatient to win the race and didn't seem to want to give his teammate a chance. Luckily he was still willing to give Piastri space for P1.
And this time we see the many blunders made by Max and how their strategy is quite messy. This indicates that currently RB is increasingly being chased by other teams. That's a good thing and it's the competition I've been waiting for, and it makes F1 even more exciting to watch.

I got so bored in the race honestly but it wasn't a thing that I didn't expect, so...  Grin  There were some interesting incidents happened during the race as well though just as you mentioned.

Verstappen was right about complaining. That early pit by Hamilton ruined the plans. Red Bull should have acted faster than Mercedes. Verstappen's anger caused him to make a big mistake and paid for it later.

I think Norris should have been the winner. Piastri messes up but still dares to take the lead? I assume McLaren doesn't care about Norris' chance for a championship. We are only in the middle of the season and Red Bull isn't like in the past.

Once again, Toprak was unstoppable at the Czech WSBK event since FP1, FP2, FP3, Superpole, Race1, SPRace and Race2. He really has become extraordinary enough that Ducati riders can't do much in every race and that will certainly make Toprak a candidate to win WSBK this year. Apart from that, I also congratulate the Indonesian rider in the WSSP300 class because he managed to get the 3rd podium today after starting the race from 33rd place. This is truly extraordinary for Aldi Satya Mahendra because he uses a Yamaha R3 motorbike.

He was 4.50 before all the free practice session started.  I'm not really sure why the books never adjusted their lines to the info that McLaren has the best car that gets them pole position.  But at the race takes strategy and McLaren seems lacking at that for some reason.  They could mess it up for Norris and have either Verstappen get it or Piastri.

Piastri is at 7.50.  Wink

That is still a big opportunity for gamblers truthfully.  Smiley  McLaren has made huge progress and they are getting more trusted in time. At the moment the odds are like Norris 1.73, Verstappen 2.60 for the win. This shows how much competitive race is waiting for us clearly. If Piastri can't overtake Norris at the start, his duty would be to keep Verstappen as much as possible. But can he? We will see.  Grin

About Perez's renewing his contract, it is all because of Verstappen. He is satisfied with no competition from his teammate. But Red Bull must be looking for an alternative driver already and they had better be.

He did and McLaren gave him the position back because they lost it in the pit stops. However since the fault was of Piastri when he got off track and got from near 5 seconds to 1.7 seconds to Norris was the key point that was not taken into consideration by McLaren. For me Lando should have kept the win yet it shows how not logical are these guys at the paddock, all of them and not just McLaren,at Redbull they made errors today. The only team that hit it right was Mercedes.

^  Wait...  What do you mean new contract?  Like an extension to his current contract that would have him stay at RBR beyond this season?  Cheesy Cheesy  I hope that's not it because that would be hilariously so dumb of Red Bull.

Norris takes the pole position, big congrats to him!  Cheesy

Norris was already the biggest favourite for the pole by bookies before the session started. He met the expectations by an impressive lap time. I was thinking Verstappen would be right between Norris and Piastri both I was wrong. Piastri was really incredible today.

McLarens are on their lucky day also. Because Tsunoda's crash caused a red flag and Verstappen couldn't go for another fast lap. Probably he didn't have fresh tyres left. A really good race might be waiting for us tomorrow.  Smiley  Perez also crashed and said goodbye in Q1 already. I didn't understand what was wrong with Russell though. He was terrible...

What a disaster once again for Perez.
They just signed a new contract with him but he deserves only to be fired.
Many drivers just could do better then him.

Disappointment for Russell he often wants to 4head the race and often he just to the wrong choice, this time with fuel and rain.

Haas has not announced Magnussen's direct replacement in the team for 2025. But the team had already confirmed, at the beginning of the month, that it will have the young Brit Oliver Bearman among its starters for the next championship. Hülkenberg is also leaving the team, in an announcement made in April.
I also believe that Ocon should be announced at Haas to complete the team.

Regarding Ricciardo, I also think he should go to Red Bull next year... His return easily replaces Nyck De Vries, who performed well below expectations and is another step in Ricciardo's readaptation to the category , who only did tests in simulators and rode in the current Red Bull a few days ago at Silverstone.
Even Red Bull boss Christian Horner let it slip that he thinks Ricciardo's goal is to steal Perez's position in 2025, so Ricciardo's entry would depend on that departure.
I am glad that Bearman is getting the attention he deserves, I remember the race he had and he was quite good, it would be very bad for him to keep missing years of his time. Remember, Max was just a teen when he got to F1 but he was good and he proved to be a right choice by Red Bull as well. I also think that Sainz could go to Haas as well, many good reasons for something like that to happen as well. I mean like mentioned, it is just one season, after that in 2026 we are going to see Audi join, and that means Sainz will be there, the deal is already done, one of the reasons why Ferrari got Hamilton instead, to be fair you do not need a reason to get Hamilton, it is Hamilton, but they still knew Sainz would leave.

So for one season alone, Sainz would be able to actually help Bearman be the best version of himself, help a newbie driver, while not being out of the league, and keep training basically. Yes he will not win anything with Haas, but he will be racing, and then he will go to a "possibly" better team.

Perez is done, we've seen how he hasn't improved in recent races and instead crashed again - look at how Horner responded to his crash, he wasn't happy at all. And for Yuki, it was an unusual crash, he literally flew and hit the barrier, but the good news is he got P10, and hopefully in tomorrow's race his car won't suffer too serious damage. For Russell himself, it seems there was a strategic error which caused him to be knocked out in Q1, I don't know what, and he will have to settle for starting at the bottom tomorrow.

And for tomorrow's race, I see that Max has the chance to get the podium again, he just needs to push more and he can secure the podium.

Another very powerful day for Mclearens.

Both on the top, looks like a promising weekend for them, can they manage to lose this race too?
With all the lost points they got so far they were in fight with Max for the title.

Ferrari kinda slow, as predicted pole will be under 1.16

And there it is as said...  McLaren shining at FP3.  Undecided  Norris was 4.50 before FP1 and now his line is cut by more than half now at 2.00.  No value anymore for Norris.  But Verstappen is priced just right at 3.00 imho. That could he a good bet if you missed putting some money on Norris.

Overall timers are superslow, idk if is a weather condition or what.
Poleposition for 2023 was 1.16.6 so it is ok to assume that this year they will do something around 1.16.0 or maybe 1.15.7/9.

About Leclerc yeah, so far is a terrible season for him idk if he lost it, or it is just a down in his carrier.

Actually it didn't have anything to do with weather condition. Lap times around 1:17.0 are quite familliar in Free Practice on this track. Drivers are slower during Free Practice most of the time. Check out these lap times in the same place in 2023 season for example:

https://www.espn.com/f1/results/_/id/600026759

This is mainly because of trying different drive modes and so on.

When we see rain during a full session, we can see times even near 1:40.0 like in that season. Anyways, there is some good improvement in Ferrari results. I must admit that.  Smiley  However seeing Leclerc having a crash made me worried. I hope he doesn't make such a simple mistake during qualifying or race.  Sad  The season is already going on in a really problematic way for him.

After leaving FP1 behind with a Ferrari show, here are the results for FP2:

https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/1025725/f1-results-today-hungarian-grand-prix-practice-times-max-verstappen-beaten-surprise-rival/

Leclerc was able to drive for only 8 laps because he had an incident. Because of using the kerb more than necessary he lost control of the car. It is sad to see Leclerc having such incidents in FP sessions.  Sad

Sainz was again in top 3 but this time Norris said hello and took the 1st position.  Smiley  Perez is also not too far away from Verstappen for now. I would like to see him keeping up the good work in qualifying and race both also.

Let's see FP3 tomorrow which is going to give us more realistic data right before qualifying session.

Here is current qualifying odds for Hungaroring:

https://trustdice.win/sports/formula-1/formula-1/formula-1-2024/1945646

Verstappen isn't that high favourite for the qualifying anymore, right?  Grin  Norris is not that far from him for the pole position according to bookies. Mercedes drivers follow these 2 right behind which is no surprise.

Qualifying is a completely different thing than the race. Red Bull started to struggle much more during qualifying compared to the teams on the rise. I'm not betting on Verstappen pole anymore truthfully.  Tongue  It is more thrilling to try my luck with Norris or some other in-form driver.

And knowing that there's a possbility that McLaren has the best car on the grid or at least on paper they do, I think betting for Norris in the spot is not too bad.  And it's prolly best to do it before FP3 as the lines change after seeing the results.

FP1 is going on right now..  I'm guessing Mercedes willbe pushing hard here and at FP2 while Red Bull sand bags.  I think McLaren will shine at FP3 and show us what's up.

I have read about the new upgrades Red Bull brought for the Hungarian GP. Then this means we are likely to watch a much stronger Verstappen but probably it won't be the same for Perez.  Tongue

Verstappen is getting more ambitious after the competition started to get really heated this season. He would like to push it to the limit at the weekend together with this big upgrade.

Lastly another thing is, Verstappen has already changed his 4th power unit during the 10th race weekend. This means he has no penalty-free change left. When he has no choice other than going for the 5th one, he is going to get a 10-place grid penalty.

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/verstappen-set-for-f1-engine-grid-penalty-as-honda-inspection-nears-conclusion/10627269/

As for Perez himself, we can't expect much from him because since the incident in Monaco yesterday it seems like RB won't give him much of an upgrade, and he will only be satisfied with being in a middle position. And for Verstappen, he seems to be getting more ambitious as you say, because other drivers are starting to catch up to him and it will become more difficult for him to maintain P1 position in every race. And that might be the strongest reason to push his limits in order to get the best results.

So at the moment we have several drivers without a contract for the next year.
The list is

Sanz, Ocon, Sageant, Riccardo, Bottas, Guanyu and Magnussen.

From these we can probably assume to see easly again in 2025, Sainz, Ocon and Bottas. The others are in a high risk to don't have a seat for the next season.

Btw race in 4 days.
