As it was already been announced by Wolff a couple of weeks ago, Alonso isn't interested in the second drive in Mercedes.  And it's looking like Antonelli isn't getting the second drive either as the team wants him to take his time and stay at F2 for a couple more years.  And there was Sainz, who looked like a done deal to get the second seat but then it looks like he's flaking out.  The reason is he doesn't want to be just another Bottas that they could give a one or two year contract then his future would be in limbo.

And with all that, I think I know who would be willing to take the second drive and who wouldn't care if he's given just two years at Mercedes since he's already retired...  I'm guessing Vettel will be back!

Even though the FIA has changed the minimum age limit regulations to enter F1, it is quite unfortunate that Antonelli's team did not allow him to enter F1, perhaps because he is still not mature enough to enter there and if forced, his fate might be like the second Logan. And for other candidates like Max and Sainz, maybe they didn't choose Mercedes as their team, because as we already know, they already have their own chosen team. For Vettel himself, even though he has expressed his interest in entering F1, Mercedes may not be considering it. It may still be a mystery who will fill Mercedes' second seat next season.

I think it's not about his age...  It seems like the team doesn't think he's ready for F1.  Not sure if this is true but I heard that Antonelli isn't doing good at F2 lately.  But haven't confirmed it tho.  Too lazy.  Lol.  But if you guys could that would be great.  Cheesy

Anyway here's the next schedule for the next race this weekend.

We are in another race week now, the next stop is Hungary.  Smiley  What do you say about this GP? Do you expect Verstappen's two-race winning streak on this track to come to an end?

I think it is quite possible honestly. Like I said before, Red Bull has started to struggle way more than ever before. McLaren and Mercedes are attacking with all they have got. Norris is so unlucky recently by the way. He had potential more wins these days but wasted all the opportunities. I hope he can do some extra work in Hungary to get another win. I think Russell will also be extra ambitious after that disappointing race ending the last time.

It seems that no one can break Toprak's dominance in WSBK with his BMW motorbike because yesterday at Race2 Doningtonpark England, Toprak was able to leave his opponent behind by up to 7.5 seconds. And this reflects that he still has more ability to compete in races on any circuit for the next few seasons as long as his motorbike suits him well enough. It seems that Toprak will be WSBK world champion with easier conditions this season which will make BMW feel quite happy because it has been a long time since BMW has won WSBK.

Jeremy Clarkson drops something about Adrian Newey’s.
As you may know the tv start was a school mate of Newey and he still is his friend.

In a recent Interview he said the following.

"he is not searching a Home in Maranello but he searching it in Oxfordshire"

SO TLDR

Accord Jeremy who is a friend of Adrian Newey, Newey will go to Aston Martin and not to Ferrari.

Yeah, Alonso doesn't want the seat at Mercedes. I would be happy to see Antonelli there considering how talented the young driver is.  Smiley  Mercedes is already going to have a wonderful main driver like Russell. When Antonelli also improves his driving skills, Mercedes' future could be really interesting to see.

When it comes to Sainz, there are still speculations about some teams but nothing certain yet. They said Audi first but now it is Alpine. I don't know how good Audi will enter Formula 1 but they have already determined their first driver: Hulkenberg.

I still don't feel like Vettel will be back but wouldn't say no to see him again.  Roll Eyes

Astonishing on how many points has with all the mistakes he makes.
Are we sure that RBR is not the best car still?

It was the case at the beginning of the season but I don't think currently they are that ahead in power.  Sad  Mercedes and McLaren have made a really important progress recently. We have seen how much Verstappen struggled in the British GP.

He could have really finished at a much less position than that if didn't act smart with pit stops. He also says they aren't that comfortable anymore. Honestly I would still expect him to win another title this season but I'm not that confident when it comes to constructor championship. This could be the season for Red Bull's streak to be broken. This would lead to Perez's saying goodbye to the team of course whether Verstappen likes it or not.

I missed it because I didn't see the WSBK race schedule, which this week turned out to be a race in England and from the Free Practice, Superpole and Race1 sessions, Toprak had all been swept clean by occupying first place yesterday. Meanwhile, today I will take the time to watch the SP Race and also Race2 because the Doningtonpark circuit in England is a pretty beautiful circuit with a unique layout so it can make the race less boring. However, I see that Toprak is much stronger on the BMW motorbike he has been riding so far that it makes the Ducati riders look weak, especially the Ducati rider who was world champion in WSBK, namely Alvaro Bautista.

As I understood the miracle of the Mercedes recovery in performance was a very silly or easy one to fix.
The majority of the problem were caused from their suspensions.

Once they understood the cause of the general "slowness" of the car it was a quick fix to them.

And next year, Hamilton is coming in and I'm pretty sure Ferrari will have a hard time managing both Leclerc and Hamilton.  Leclerc doesn't deserve to be treated as the second driver...

Pretty sure that's gonna happen tho as Ferrari will chase Hamilton's next driver's championship cos it's an easy sell for some kind of next level marketing.

I hope marketing doesn't play such role in that. Leclerc absolutely shouldn't be the 2nd driver. Ferrari normally doesn't have any hierarchy anymore. But it is valid for Leclerc - Sainz situation of course. I wonder if this will change next season...  Huh  Leclerc and Hamilton both deserve to be treated in the same way.

Hamilton is 7-time world champion, I have nothing against that. I admire his achievements. However this shouldn't cause Ferrari to overlook Leclerc's driving skills also. Leclerc has been in pain for years because of this incompetent team.  Sad

We have now the list of Sprint races for 2025.
I was expecting a bigger number but they are still 6.

We will have in this order

China
Miami
Belgium
Austin
Brazil
Qatar

Good selection of tracks but I wanted more, It is time to get more of these kinda miniraces on tracks where you can overtake.

More circuits might give us the opportunity to see more opportunities to get points for racers who haven't gotten points and also the excitement of overtaking, but this might reduce the excitement of the main race and will also increase costs for the teams, and This will be a burden for lower level teams. I feel that the 5 circuits are the right choice, because some time ago there was talk of increasing the number of races on the F1 schedule and the drivers and teams protested against this.

^  Sure but even if it worked out for Button so many years ago, it still doesn't mean that it was the right decision for Leclerc.  It was a disaster for him as every race you're supposed to finish with the best possible time based on what the car can give and the skill of the driver.

I mean did Ferrari really think they could win the race by pitting Leclerc early to slap on the inters when the track was still dry?

And about Leclerc, he really needs to get out of Ferrari as it sapped him off of all confidence he has left imho,

^  If they tried winning by making Leclerc pit too early for the inters then those guys running the team are surely in denial.  As I've been saying before, the team is doing a disservice to Leclerc.  He deserves more imho.  He deserves a better car and better decision making from the pit.

Jason Button in the past won several races with early pits with inter tires.
About what he deserves Leclerc, he needs to improve to be considered the number 1, often this season has been behind Sainz and not for Ferrari fault.

Side news, Botta is rumored to go to Mercedes but he may refuse if Mercedes will offer only 1 year deal.

I think Leclerc should have used common sense instead of listening to whoever is giving him the instruction in the pit.  Piastri was given the same instruction around the same time Leclerc made it to the pit stop, but Piastri said there was no need as the track was still dry.  Same with Hamilton, he refused to pit until a few laps later.

And no point defending 7th or 8th?  No way Ferrari was thinking like that.  As a team they want as much points as they can get at the end of the day.

I think the risk was a good take.
Even if they were pitting with the others it was a race for few points.

They tried winning.
They did the same thing with Perez so yes, Ferrari and RBR are happy to throw away 2-3 points if they can risk to win the race.

Ferrari is really getting worse in time.  Sad  They did a really good work at first. But now they are not only getting away from Red Bull, McLaren is also about to leave them behind.

Ferrari should take action on their downgrade immediately. Not only by improving the car but also dealing with their strategies. Can't they just sign better people for that?  Huh  Leclerc's race was destroyed by calling him to pit early.

Truthfully I don't think it was worth trying it while the other teams weren't expecting a good amount of rain. Red Bull also did the same mistake with Perez. It has been like Leclerc sees a bad dream lately and can't wake up yet.

Disaster as often for Leclerc.

I think it was a good risk they needed to take, they tried to win the race.
There was no point on defending a 7-8th posiotion.

But yea Mercedes found to fix their car it seems, only Ferrari is behind now in the top teams.
