Marquez was caught violating tire pressure regulations and was punished with an additional 16 seconds in his time so that his final position was no longer in fourth place but in tenth position for yesterday's race at TT Assen. This is really sad for Marquez because he has lost a better position and also a number of points in the race so he is a little annoyed because of this. I also tried to find out about this and it turns out that the reason Marquez let Diggia overtake him in yesterday's race was because he wanted to regulate his tire pressure to be better. But unfortunately this strategy failed and did not produce good results for Marquez himself in the race.

What a thrilling race we got today.
As always said, short tracks where you can overtake are the funniest tracks around.

Norris deserved the win considering they also skipped the 5 seconds penalty to Verstappen during Norris pitstop when he needed to break for unsafe release.

Yeah I had so much fun as well.  Smiley  Especially the final part was amazing, but disappointing at the same time. I was wishing Norris to overtake Verstappen to win the race. Things went really bad.

Norris' world must be upside down after that thing they had while going wheel-to-wheel.  Sad  He really deserved the win but "thanks to" Verstappen it was taken away from him. I remembered the old Verstappen immediately. You know the times when him and Hamilton were competing on the edge, 2021 season. And FIA is still overlooking some punishments for Verstappen...

We are in another race week, Silverstone.  Smiley  This time it is going to be a really important race for English drivers. Norris, Russell and Hamilton are going to be lovely to watch this weekend. Especially Norris... After he had that accident with Verstappen he must be really furious. I think he is going to turn this into a bigger ambition on Silverstone track to go for the victory.

Verstappen win the race here last year and that was his first ever win on this track as well. I feel like it won't be a back-to-back win this year. I have all my hopes on Norris to beat him on qualifying and race both.  Roll Eyes

Max is the true living example of no great sportsmanship and today was a clear example of that.Norris of course pushed him to the limit yet left him enough space,he immediately turned into him causing a puncture to himself lucky for him and completely damaging Norris car.Based on this I think the one who should be mad is to be Norris in this friendship and not Max,Max was the lucky guy I think because the gesture came from him,he already saw that he was much slower than Norris since the 2nd pit stop where his crew made an error of 6.9 seconds slow stop then everything was in favor of Norris. The only one who lost big in here,in today battle which I agree was a great one in the end was Norris, the commentator made a great statement,he said now Lando saw what it is to fight Max for real,he doesn't let anyone through that easily.

I know that, Max seems quite panicked when his team makes a mistake which causes it to slow down, but here Lando also seems very rushed and unable to control his emotions, and the same goes for Max because this is a quite important race for RB and they hope that Max can provide the best results. But this is racing, anything can happen, and both Lando and Max certainly have their own reasons for maintaining their position, but here I feel more unfair towards Norris because many people say that Max shouldn't have done that. Luckily, in the British race, Lando didn't get any penalties, otherwise it would be annoying for Lando because he would have to start the race with a time penalty.

Verstappen today shown one more time his true nature, the one back on days where he preferred to make an accident over be overtaken.

The 10 seconds penalty it is a no big deal since he lost nothing, while Norris will probably have a 3 or 6 position penalty on next race too and he has been one been attacked illegally.

By the way... Leclerc has an incredibility negative Aura around him.

Even with successful overtake, there is no guarantee that he would win with 5 seconds penalty. That accident was Max fault, but when I saw how Norris attacked him, I felt that it can end in way that it actually ended.
As said in other thread, Red Bull can lose race only failing themslves. And it happened, Norris was able to reach Verstappen only after his very slow pit stop.
Anyway, I think that FIA have to rewatch penalties, said it many times. It's unfair that there's 5 seconds for crossing white line and just 10 for eliminating someone from race.

The tension was so high in the last laps of the race. I was afraid of a big accident between Norris and Verstappen and it really happened.  Sad  I wouldn't like to see it ending like that. Because they fought each other in some other races also but never had such incident.

Verstappen looked really worried and he made a huge mistake while trying to block Norris' way. It was a deserved penalty undoubtedly. But Norris got affected the most at the end.

Norris looked really frustrated during post-race interview:

Russell P1. What an unbelievable race.

After many races, finally we were presented with a very intense battle, how Max and Lando fought for P1, overtook each other, and ended tragically with Lando DNF and Max only P5. Even though this was a race on RB's home circuit, and from the start everyone had expected that Max could win the race smoothly, but in the middle of the race the margin suddenly decreased for Max and Lando came aggressively to overtake Max. This is what we are waiting for, a fierce race. But will this be a new chapter in the strained relationship between Lando and Max? because we know that they are close friends, and this is a race that RB hopes that Max will come out as the winner, but it has to be dashed because of Lando? but whatever it is, congratulations to Mercedes and Russell for P1.
And for Charles, I hope that his bad luck will not get worse, to be honest his performance is getting worse because of Ferrari's inconsistent strategy.

Pecco is untouchable since free practice, no one can break his domination at Assen.
Today's race was boring for the 1-2 position of course but the competition for the 3rd position was interesting where there were at least 4 riders compete for the 3rd position.
Now Pecco is 10 points only behind Martin which means that there is a chance for Pecco to take over the leaderboard from Martin next week.
Anyway the best rider for me today is Enea who took the last spot on the podium, if he could the same since the 1st lap, I think he will be able to compete Martin and Pecco.
For three seasons, Pecco Bagnaia has won the race at TT Assen (2022, 2023 and 2024), namely today with no rider able to catch him after the start. However, on the one hand, I was also quite impressed with Enea Bastianini who fought to get the third podium today after being able to compete with many other riders including Diggia, Marquez and Vinales. This is truly a very extraordinary thing for Bastianini and very impressive that he was able to go from a bad position to a better position in today's Assen race.

Life, Love and Laughter...
Max Verstappen destroyed everyone.
In the sprint race, Norris got an opportunity overtaking him but he got hyped and he ruined everything after few turns.
In the qualy, he was on another planet, he umiliated the others.

The race will be fun however in this track when you can overtake.

We'll see...  Verstappen and Red Bull looks like they're on a roll.  The race could be good but not really expecting much from the guys behind Verstappen.  Hopefully we'll see Norris win for the lulz tho.

Anyway, race is in 8 minutes! LFG!

And I just checked the odds.  Rofl they have Verstappen at 1.05.  I don't think the bookies would give this line if they thought there's a slight chance he'll lose.  Cheesy Cheesy

Before the weekend started I thought Norris would bring some competition to Verstappen as usual. However it doesn't seem likely now.  Tongue

Norris is very close to Max but he keeps doing silly mistakes.
The race tomorrow will be decided by the tyres.

Who will have the best management will probably win the race, also If I understood correctly Max has 1 more set of fresh tyres.

Verstappen has been really comfortable during the whole weekend as you have also seen. Taking pole was so easy. I got sad for Piastri by the way as his best lap was invalid because of being out of track limits. Seventh position is still not a too bad position to start from though.

Leclerc was a disappointment after making a mistake in his best lap attempt in Q3. He has been uncomfortable so far too. I don't have much expectation from him in the race either.  Sad

Overall, Francesco Bagnaia is truly untouchable so he has always been at the front since FP1, Practice, FP2 and also in qualifying and in today's TT Assen MotoGP Sprint Race. Meanwhile, Marquez again experienced bad luck during qualifying and also during today's Sprint because he fell in both sessions, making him unable to steal points in this Sprint session. Meanwhile, Vinales and Jorge Martin both finished second and third, although if you look at the fierce battle, they were in fifth place and was successfully occupied by Diggia from the VR46 Racing team.

Alpine is still a sensible and better choice for Sainz compared to Williams.

I agree with that though. If Sainz has only Alpine and Williams as options for 2025 then it had better be Alpine.  Tongue  Williams is getting worse day by day while Alpine is progressing towards the opposite way. Albon is also wasting his time at Williams truthfully.

Sprint race was average. We saw some overtakes but not much competition for the win also. So far we have all seen how dominant Verstappen is.

I must admit I see him taking the pole position already.  Smiley  McLarens are also given a good chance indeed. It wouldn't be bad to give especially Norris a try. Piastri looked ambitious during the sprint race but I think Norris will do better in qualifying.
