^  Verstappen's contract has a clause that he has an option to leave Red Bull if the team can't give him a car that could win podiums.  And we have Toto Wolff looking like he's going after Verstappen...  I guess a possible destination for Verstappen would be a Mercedes?  That would depend if they could offer him a better car.

As for Horner, that's just what I think.  But Ferrari did give him an offer a couple of years back after they gave Binotto the sack.  Pretty sure they're interested in Horner.

And I don't think Newey is taking any job after this season.  I think he'll take a year off.

Toto Wolff wants Verstappen so bad. He is ready to express his admiration to Verstappen at every opportunity.  Grin  It wouldn't be bad to see him driving for Mercedes. Russell and Verstappen in the same team. Sounds interesting. Their engine for 2026 season is said to be competitive. But we don't know much about how strong the car would be in general.

I have heard Vasseur blocked the way for Newey to join Ferrari. If it is true then I would rather see Horner as the new boss. Last, I feel like Newey will sign for a team rather than taking a year off. But we will see.  Smiley

According to last rumors and speculation we have the following situation.

Adring Newey is se to join Aston Martin for a contract of 100m €.
In 2026 Verstappen will may join the team.

Remember that in 2026 we will have a new revolution of cars so it will be a "fresh" start for everyone, once again.

Yeah Newey being offered 100m GBP by Aston is already known and we also know that Newey could talk a year off and go on a sabbatical.  There are also talks swirling around that Newey was interested in Ferrari for less money but the problem is Ferrari won't give him 100% control of the technical side of the team.  :-/  Newey to Ferrari would've been sweet.

As for the fresh start on 2026, I think Ferrari will be ahead of the pack in terms of engine power.  No good reason why, except that Lewis Hamilton has a knack for transferring to the best F1 team after major rule changes.  Grin Grin

Lawrence Stroll remembered he was very rich then.  Tongue  He has such a big wealth but his not making big steps for Aston Martin so far made me disappointed.

But it looks like that move is finally coming. Newey wouldn't say no to such offer for sure. In case he joins the team officially, we should see a title challenger Aston Martin.  Cool  When it comes to Verstappen topic, he is always open to sign for any winner team. It could surely be Aston Martin too. But being teammates with Alonso would be quite interesting... Alonso wouldn't be like Perez in the end. He would push hard. But if he doesn't decide to retire until then of course.

I think the writing is on the wall.  Max Verstappen stays at Red Bull and so will Helmut Marko.  But there will be a somewhat surprise departure...  And that will be Christian Horner to Ferrari.  Not really a surprise anymore really.  As his contract clause could've already been activated with Adrian Newey's departure from the team.

Verstappen and Red Bull will be in all kinds of problems and challenges that I might start liking them again.  Cheesy Cheesy

One by one important figures leave RB, this might be a tough season for RB since they have to fight by relying on the existing team and Max, plus the increasing performance of McLaren and Mercedes is adding to their difficulties. Although RB's chances are still open to win the constructor and driver championships, it will not be as easy as the 2023 season, and Christian Horner must think about the best way to use all their resources to improve their performance.
But from all that I am quite happy, because a competitive environment like this makes me like watching F1 more. And I hope that Ferrari can follow soon to improve their performance.

I also think Verstappen would stay there as long as he continues to become champion. However the first time he loses the title to another driver and realizes Red Bull can't give him this chance anymore, I think he would leave. Because he doesn't have a special bond with Red Bull. He is there to win titles only.  Smiley  But as far as I know he loves to be with Marko also.

Christian Horner to Ferrari? Hm... That's something I'm hearing new. About Adrian Newey, they say he is about to sign for Aston Martin soon. We had better get ready for a much stronger team after his arrival.  Wink

we have some kinda of news.

Sergio Perez will stay until the end of season, don't know after the end of the season.
Alpine has a new team pricipal, his name is Olivier Oakes and he will be the second youngest team principal in the history of the F1.

Following the Sergio Perez news, we have a new one for Riccardo.
He will stay in Visa Cash App until the end of the season, he was about to get promoted in RBR over Perez.

Look at that. Red Bull is still insisting on keeping Perez. It is like announcing that they are okay with losing constructor championship as of now.  Grin  Because it looks very difficult for them to be champions even this year. I'm sad to see Perez in this condition truthfully. He wasn't driving this badly in the past. He has just lost his competitiveness, just as Ricciardo also has.

Another parting at Red Bull. They have lost their sporting director to Audi. Helmut Marko continues to love his important members one by one. As Red Bull is losing their dominance lately, I wonder how they will end up.

A nice race today where 3 riders are competing for the 1st podium, Pecco leading for several laps then overtaken by Martin.
Martin lead for other several laps but Enea was trying hard and successfully overtake the 1st position from Martin and surprisingly made a nice gap.
Marq Marquez and Aleix were able to be on the leading group but the gap became bigger so they could not compete for the podium.
Congrats for Enea who won the Sprint race and the main Race, he needs more consistency for the upcoming races to prove that he is a great rider that should not be abandoned by Ducati.
Enea Bastianini is a rider who will be dumped by Ducati next season because the Ducati factory prefers Marquez to fill Bastianini's seat next season. Meanwhile, Martin is a rider who was not chosen by Ducati to fill the seat so that both riders will leave Ducati next season because this is their last season with the Ducati brand and the results they got at Silverstone certainly hit Ducati's top brass a bit, especially since Bastianini has also succeeded in shifting Marquez to third place in the current standings after being able to win in the Sprint and main races.

There are 3 drivers with 0 points at the bottom of driver standings now: Zhou, Bottas and Sargeant. 2 drivers from Kick Sauber shows how terrible their condition is.  Sad  I wasn't expecting them to be this bad at the beginning of the season. They didn't only make zero progress, they even went backwards. I have read they are expecting to get some points soon but for now I just think they need to get really lucky for that.

On the other hand Sargeant is also very bad. He can't compete well against his teammate and he is about to lose his seat to Sainz too of course. F1 is not for Sargeant as it seems.

I really don't know... They didn't want to cause Piastri to lose the chance to get his first win because of a bad pit strategy. But I still believe it is good for only the short term. In my opinion, they should have thought about the long term the most. If Norris misses the title chance because of losing those 7 points, there would be no return from that.  Sad

In that situation, I don't know what Zak Brown will have to say to Norris. But first we will see what Norris will do as of now. I didn't like his performance even a bit in Belgium. He was so slow compared to Piastri.

That would be a big explanation if Norris ends up 6 points behind Verstappen, but it doesn't look like it at the moment, Norris is not fast enough at the moment, Verstappen's lead should be enough, RedBull is not the fastest car at the moment, but it's always good for a podium, plus there will be improvements on almost all cars after the summer break.

I doubt there will be huge improvements to any other cars beside Redbull.I think so because all other teams have harmony in their offices and are having fun in their well deserved vacations. It is a completely different thing at Redbull garage where the atmosphere is tense to say the least and the nerves could also be felt in Verstappen radio messages,so most likely they will be the only one to work during this summer break.

I'm looking forward to the developments in the summer break.

Me too!
The fact is that Formula 1 goes on vacation with more unknowns than certainties...

After a monotonous start, Formula 1 has risen from the ashes and created good expectations for the second part of the 2024 season, because look... Red Bull has gone backwards and no longer has the best car, it would be a good opportunity for the However, competitors McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari have not yet managed to make the most of this situation.

It is unquestionable that McLaren has the best car on the grid at the moment (my opinion), but Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri need to stop making so many mistakes if they still want to achieve more victories in the rest of the year, on the other hand Lewis Hamilton and George Russell proved who finally managed to come to terms with the regulations and left the whole world with very positive expectations for the post-holiday period.

The only thing that discourages me is seeing that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz's team got lost along the way and now needs to work on solutions to the SF-24's problems... I hope they can recover.

So Bastianini won today and he ate some points to Martin and Bagnaia.
I've only seen the latest 5 laps but I guess Martin got problem with his tyres since he was 1st and he lost 3 seconds in the end.
Same thing for Bagnana I have read he was 1st not so long before.

The race for the world title is still open.

Why is McLaren so stupid now after the stable order? They gave away points there, they would have got the same number of points in the constructors' championship even if Norris had won, so I didn't understand the radio message, "Lando you can't win the championship on your own and let him pass", what was that all about there and now?

Now things could get even more exciting in the MotoGP World Championship, suddenly Bastinini is no longer 50 points behind the new World Championship leader Martin. What were Ducati thinking letting Martin and Bastinini go, the possibility exists that the current Ducati world champion will not ride for Ducati next year, what a great move by Ducati 🤦

I'm looking forward to the developments in the summer break. The uncertainty of Sergio Perez's situation is putting pressure on the driver and making Max's hegemony more and more felt. On the Red Bull side, I don't see a single positive strategy for him. Carlos Sainz is having a season of ups and downs. Sainz's performance has been the definition of instability. Let's see how the change will be reflected in the coming season.

Norris and Piastri have the wind at their backs at the moment. Everything is going well for them. I'm looking forward to see how their performances will continue after the break with Lewis Hamilton. If Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Fernando Alonso can shake off their bad luck, we're in for a good second half in F1. I'm looking forward to it.

Once again, Enea Bastianini was able to maintain his rhythm and pace in today's race so that he was able to chase Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin who were in front of him until they reached the finish line and won today. While his teammate was very unfortunate because he had to finish the race in third position even though he had led the race for several laps since the beginning. But because Bagnaia could not maintain the consistency of his lap time, he had to be willing to be overtaken by two new riders who also use Ducati engines.

I have heard McLaren is planning to give priority to Norris during the rest of the season. Aren't they a little late for doing this? For example they could have done it easily in Hungary. But they didn't care about Norris at all.  Smiley  McLaren shouldn't be selfish by thinking about only the constructor championship. Norris wouldn't be comfortable with that.

Maybe they don't have a hierarchy between their drivers normally. But when there is such situation, they should be thoughtful. I would say the same thing if Piastri was in Norris' place in the driver standings also of course.

McLaren may be performing well at the moment, but in terms of driver management they are still bad and RB is much better than that. They only focus on the constructor championship, and it doesn't matter which driver wins as long as they get points. That's not good in the long run, because we can see how Norris is not happy when Piastri is given the chance to win the race, when he should have won it. But that's the team, they won't know their mistake if it doesn't happen. Now the most important thing is how they can learn from their mistakes and understand the situation that Norris deserves to be given the chance to win the world title too.
