Btw, it seems like India's MotoGP race will be canceled this year, moving it to the next season if the organizer is to be trusted[1]. They cited weather conditions as the reason why the race needed to be moved, as it is too challenging for riders and marshalls to do their jobs. Some argue the key reason is likely financial reason. Whatever the reason is, it will reduce the number of races this season if this is true. I wonder if this will make the season more interesting since riders need to be strict with points to ensure they win the season or not. CMIIW.

Boring but emotional race today.

As said in Monaco you cant pass, it is only about strategy, for example if Charles was driving in 1.25 (and not 1.16) and saving the battery in correct turn he was still able to win.

What a destroyed car Perez got, and the incident was not so at high speed, crazy.

Yeah..  It was so boring and the red flag at the start of the race didn't help.  It took some time and by the time it was around the 10th lap or so, I just stopped watching altogether and went on to do something else.  The next race is at Canada...  :/  Yeah skipping that one.  Will start watching the next few races starting at the Spanish GP up to the Singaporean GP.

Anyway, here are the results since no one posted them yet.

The only interesting part was Lap 1. That was a really horrifying accident between Magnussen and Perez.  Sad  Most part of the car was just torn apart. Thankfully Perez is healthy now without even having a concussion as far as I know. Sainz was really lucky indeed. Despite having a blowout after a touch to Piastri's car, the red flag after Perez's accident helped Sainz return to the race at the same position he started.  Smiley

After that the race was completely boring. We didn't even see the front rows pitting. If it wasn't for that accident the race could have been more exciting with pits but nobody wanted to take risks. Great job, Leclerc! Finally a home Grand Prix win.

It was quite a boring race, even Max himself said that he should have brought a pillow because it was so boring. In fact, in the history of F1, this is the first time there has been a race where the drivers from P1-P10 finished according to yesterday's qualifying session, which shows that the bigger F1 cars are no longer suited to the Monaco circuit which is not being updated. In fact, I could say that yesterday's F2 race was more interesting to watch compared to F1. But even so, the results of yesterday's race were very impressive for Charles, because this was the first time he had won on the circuit in his home country. It was quite emotional, and as a Ferrari fan I looked at Charles with great pride. Hopefully this will be a positive result for Charles' performance in the upcoming races.

It's impossible to overtake in Monaco, probably I can count all overtakes on my one hand fingers. Stroll did it few times, thanks him for some entertainment, but it only can happen when opponent makes mistake or lose comcentration a bit.
Leclerc, this was very emotionsl win for him, feel happy for Charles that he finally won in Monaco.

Yeah Stroll managed to do some overtakes cause he got such much better tires with better grip otherwise it was not possible.
In a narrow track like this one with these huge cars (these cars are almost 6m long)

The race for the title is open, atleast for the constructors.

If not 1st lap action, it would be one of most boring races I ever saw. That crash was huge, Magnussen was a bit too much optimistic if he wanted to overtake Perez here. Sainz got lucky with red flag, otherwise it would be end of race for him.
Ocon, wtf he is doing and again again his teammate, how this guy is still in F1.

Definitely an emotional race for Leclerc!  Roll Eyes  He was crying with joy in his car after winning the race. He waited for this moment so long. Winning a race at home is really invaluable for drivers.

A really great frame captured while Leclerc was celebrating his win.  Smiley

There were tactical wars between Ferrari and McLaren during the whole race. While I was wondering maybe McLaren would go for an undercut there wasn't any pit at all. I didn't even know the first time they entered due to red flag was counted as a pit.  Tongue  I'm glad Perez is okay after that horrible accident.

Another interesting thing was Russell's completing the whole race with the medium tyres he got during the red flag.

The unexpected return of Sainz to the race comes as a delightful surprise defying the initial assumption of his departure from contention. This unforeseen twist injects a renewed sense of intrigue and anticipation into the proceedings elevating the stakes and intensifying the competitive landscape.

Sainz's resurgence introduces an element of resilience and determination showcasing the unwavering spirit of a true competitor. His ability to overcome adversity and rejoin the race underscores the unpredictable nature of motorsport where fortunes can swiftly shift and outcomes remain uncertain until the checkered flag falls.

What an amazing Sprint Race with so many drama especially the crashes for the 3 riders who crashed when they were leading.
This race also another proof that Marc is not over yet, start the race from the 14th and he made a good start and continue the race with his best then took the 2nd position.
Sorry to Raul Fernandez, he did everything well before he made a mistake that make him crashed while he was leading with a good gap.
Now the question is, will Marc do the same again like what he did in the previous Le Mans race?
Today's race was also full of quite fierce competition, especially for Aleix Espargaro who started the race in first place but was unable to get a podium today because he had to face Marquez in the final laps of the race. And another thing is Bagnaia's atonement for the mistake he made by winning today's race after trailing Jorge Martin who was leading the race. Now the gap in points in the standings is still quite fierce, especially for the top three riders such as Jorge Martin, Bagnaia and Marquez after the race is finished today.

It started in the worse possible of ways,4 cars out in the first lap and a red flag while the stewards are still fixing the track and barriers so the race can restart. With Sainz out of the picture the McLaren's have a great chance to maximize their chances with an easy strategy, they let one driver run more than Leclerc and with the other driver they mimic what Ferrari will do,they have two cars against one of Ferrari and with Verstappen out of the picture as the problems were clear for Redbull,we saw Perez with the Haas cars when he was taken out,so he had big problems in his first lap.

Yes.

Monaco in exiting only on Saturdays when drivers goes at 100% on speed.
On Sundays usually when nothing happens leader can go at 80% of speed since nobody can pass and save the tires as much he can, degradaging tires of opponents and get a big advantage in this way.

I hate this track.

This track should be allowed to make some changes on it to make it more interesting to watch. Otherwise it is going to stay as one of the most boring Grand Prix in the calendar.  Roll Eyes  Only qualifying and pits are exciting to watch.

Is there any part of the track to make an attempt for an overtake? The only parts I can say are the start straight - which isn't much long Tongue - and maybe the tunnel exit if the drivers are too close to each other. Ambitious drivers such as Verstappen like to push their luck there.

Leclerc got pole position and Max Verstappen hit the wall starting in sixth place tomorrow. What more could have we wanted from such official qualifying session,we are finally going to see a really good race as we know how difficult if not impossible is to overtake in this race.

I think this makes it interesting as I am sure Verstappen will not be happy sitting behind other cars,he will try his best to overtake in here and we have seen rare overtaking moves in the first part of the track if he manages to get along the other cars in those slow corners after the fast first sector, the tunnel a very dangerous place yet we have also seen other people overtaking there too, tomorrow Max should show us all of his skills in a car which is still the best despite today not being in a great fit.

Not only does Max need to get past Lando, but he also needs to get past Sainz and Russel who will most likely also show their best performance. Moreover, RB experienced a bumpy problem on their car on this circuit, causing Max to lose momentum when overtaking at several corners. Even Horner himself said it would be quite a serious problem and all they could do was rely on the data to determine the best strategy. I think Max will finish in P3 or P4, if only if he wouldn't make the mistake of crashing into the barriers like he did in qualifying.

Saturday is most important day in Monaco GP as most of things is decided then. And Saturday ended in terrible way for Red Bull. Verstappen tried to push to the limits and hit wal already on 1st turn,, but even without it, I'm not sure that he would be able to take pole from Lecler. Now there is question, is it possible for Max to reach podium?
But Perez, you must be kidding. 18th place when you have clean track without traffic on your fast lap...

It is possible? for sure but he needs to hope in a lower degradation in his tyres or in some safety car or virtual safety car.

Since it is almost impossible to overtake here, noone wants to pit early on this track and for this reason the driver ahead can go very slow with the pace for saving tyres since it will be unlikely passed after the 1st turn.

That has been the case surely in the previous races yet if I remember correctly there have been successful overtakes when they get out of the tunnel or in the first hairpin turns before entering the tunnel, this is a short track and as such not much action is expected yet I think the driver behind if faster can go for a move.Tire degradation won't be felt that much in such track,as far as I remember if someone enters the pit in early laps and put the mediums, not even the hard tires can have a chance to go to the end of the race here,so a Safety Car can completely turn things around here depending on how each team will read it.I am expecting a beautiful race tomorrow judging from the starting grid.

Yeah I watched Q3 closely and it was really exciting.  Smiley  Finally Leclerc is getting what he wants. Verstappen's lock-up on the starting straight killed his last attempt. As the Monaco track is very tight it is going to be very difficult for him to climb the positions as well. He will just hope for winning in pit strategies and maybe some help by safety car.

Leclerc got his last pole in 2022 here but he couldn't maintain the lead during the race. I hope to see smooth pit strategies by Ferrari this time. They shouldn't make a mistake like calling Sainz and Leclerc to the pit at the same time for example.  Tongue

It was very surprising during the Catalunya MotoGP Sprint Race today where Raul Fernandez fell while leading the Sprint, as well as Brad Binder who fell while leading after Raul Fernandez fell. And the same incident also happened to Bagnaia who fell while leading in first place after Brad Binder fell, making Aleix Espargaro the winner of the Sprint today, followed by Marquez in second place. This is really a quite tense Sprint and requires better technique to be able to survive until the end and hopefully tomorrow the race will be much fiercer than today.
