^  Newey's new contract from last year?  It has a clause that if Horner leaves then he also has the option to leave.  Horner also has the same clause in his contract for Newey.  Wink  RBR fkced themselves.

This clause really doesn't make sense at all. How would Red Bull accept this? I guess they were too confident about not losing any of Newey and Horner then. Now there is this serious situation going on at the team.

But I don't think Red Bull will sack Horner or he will decide to leave by his own decision in the upcoming days. There is no need to cause this crisis to get bigger. No Newey might even mean the end of a dominance era for Red Bull.  Sad

This generation of cars are big, heavy, with heavy tires and a "sucking" air effect in the bottom.

They need to change the rule and have more strength in the screw in the ground.

Indeed but I don't think this change will be seen either this season or in the next one. 2026 season is promising about a lot of changes. The cars are planned to be built smaller too.

FIA should act more carefully for the safety of the drivers. But it looks like they are still not completing full checks for tracks before the start of a weekend. I hope this doesn't cause another driver to have problems because of negligence of FIA.

New accusation against Horner this time from Holland.

According to them he sent sexual content to a girl and after he tried to buy the silence from her.

There's word swirling around that Horner won't be Red Bull's team principal after Feb 28.  Dunno how true that is but that would be a dumb move for the team if it's true and it would suck for the fans.  But overall prolly good as it will level the teams a bit.  I don't buy the results in testing.  Red Bull will be proven dominant again and we'll be here watching another so so season.  Lol.

Another drain cover problem, huh?   Grin  It looks like FIA hasn't still learned its lesson from last season. If you don't remember a similar problem occurred at Las Vegas track which caused Sainz's car to take serious damage.  Sad

"Congratulations to Max Verstappen on winning the 2024 Formula 1 season. " I found an interesting comment on the video and I couldn't help but laugh LOL. However, this comment is very reasonable, just look at how smooth and stable the RB20 car is, it shows how Newey was able to improve the aerodynamics and engine of the RB20 to its best point. Seeing how the RB20 performs, maybe this season will be quite a long season for Ferrari, Mercedes and other teams.

Adrian Newey is a blessing for Red Bull who is adored for his works.  Smiley  He has extended his contract too so I think we are likely to see Red Bull dominance in not only 2024 but also 2025 season. I can't say anything about 2026 season yet as there are many changes on the way.

the 2024 competition hasn't even started yet, there are already congratulations on the world champion to max vestapen. although redbull this season is definitely without competitors again. maybe still hope that Ferrari is able to develop its car so fast so that this 2024 season there is a competitive competition not only dominated by redbull.

I also hope like that, hopefully Ferrari can provide tough competition against Red Bull, at least in some races Ferrari can get podium 1. So this season can be a more interesting season and not boring like last season.

Ferrari got a good pace today, both in fast lap and race simualtion.

All the cars looks great with all the compouds, it should be a closer races this years behind RBR.

So... since Ferrari presented its new SF-24, they are guaranteeing that they will maintain their power in the classifications, but that alone is not enough... it is also necessary to win races.

I say this because since the adoption of the new aerodynamic regulations in 2022, Ferrari has always shone in the Saturday classifications, but the problem is that the various pole positions have not been converted into consistent victories. I even researched here to confirm what I was already following in the races and in fact the numbers say that in 2022 they won twelve pole positions and only four victories, in 2023 the SF-23 won seven pole positions but only won one race with Carlos Sainz in Singapore.

Anyway, expectations regarding Ferrari's performance are high, I also hope that this time it actually surprises us positively, so now we can only wait for the SF-24 to take to the track and show its true performance during the official races.

Adrien Newey is one of the greatest car designers in the entire world, in history even, so it's really a very weird feeling to see him build a Red Bull car that seems like the Mercedes one that failed after this new change.

I am not saying that Red Bull will fail, even at testing it looked like they had the best time, so I am not saying this new car is bad, but the question needs to be asked, what did Mercedes failed to do with this design that they had to change it whereas Newey found a way to make it work and insists on this being the car? I feel like he found the problem that Mercedes couldn't find and that's why he made this change, so the result is definitely questioned and we are going to see if it will work as well as he hopes it would.

This was the results of the first testing session yesterday by the way.

None of us must be surprised to see Verstappen at the top being in very comfortable condition.  Smiley  Of course there are big gaps between the laps driven for. But I don't think there would be a huge change even in a situation with equal amount of laps. Hamilton and Perez both were out so I can't say anything about them.

Ricciardo's performance impressed me but we will see what he can do as of the start of the season officially. It would be lovely to see Racing Bulls (previously named AlphaTauri) continuing to make progress.  Smiley

The fairly hot weather in Qatar today did not make the MotoGP riders complain about continuing to carry out official tests because they all know that now they have to work harder before the season starts. I saw that the top speed produced on the first day was quite balanced and did not have much difference for all MotoGP riders, except for test riders from each manufacturer. Apart from that, I see Davide Brivio in the Aprilia Trackhouse team which will be very good for him and also for the Aprilia Trackhouse team because this experienced man has also brought the Suzuki team to brilliant results in the MotoGP championship in 2020.

It really looks like Ducati have not tried to revolutionise the bike this time, as they have sometimes done in previous years, but have improved a very good bike in detail, so it will be a very difficult season for the non-Ducati riders to keep up with the Ducati drivers.
Ducati always has ways to change its motorbikes to make them better because they have many very reliable mechanical engineers so it is quite possible for Ducati to be even faster than last season. However, what is very unfortunate in this case is that the riders do not get the same motorbike specs as the Ducati factory motorbike itself so that those in the two satellite teams apart from Pramac Racing will also have difficulty competing against the Ducati factory motorbike itself.

Quote
It might not be enough for Yamaha to fight with Ducati at the front. But it's possible that they have more chances than last year against KTM or Aprilia.
Yamaha is starting to make a little better progress in the official test at Sepang, but in fact Yamaha still has to develop several other important things so that the engine's power and traction can be quite balanced when the motorbike is moving. And it is also hoped that Yamaha engineers will be able to make their motorbikes more suitable for all circuits this season.

And isn't already Norris tied down with a long term contract with McLaren that ends on 2027 or something?  I think the guys here itt has a ball laughing about it a couple of years ago for making such a somewhat dumb decision.
The latest news that I can find seems to suggest he's tied until the end of 2026 at least, so who knows how long exactly the contract is? Not surprised if he extends his contract if his seasons are enjoyable[1]. His decision faces some criticism, or at least questions from analysts though. Some wonder why he's in a rush to renew his contract instead of waiting for a year or so to make sure he gets the best offer, but most of them are only speculation[2]. I'd say he's probably a little bit more than happy with his situation so making a new one is not a big deal. Who knows.

He is happy with how things progressed at the end of the last season for McLaren and I am sure now that he is looking forward to what further improvements McLaren has made to their car.If I were him I would also not care for other offers at the moment and would dream about a real possible first win which I am sure is his greatest first dream looking to fulfill with McLaren.I am sure if such thing happens the renewal will come in no time.

The scuderia ferrari 24 looks good. In fact, it is definitely one of the best 2 vehicles at the moment. The weight problem has been seriously solved and the vehicle paint has not been avoided. If another dominance in the size of the 2023 season does not come, which is already very difficult to happen again, 4-5 races can be won with this car. I hope for leclerc to be second in the championship. maybe even the teams championship can be won. Perez cannot maintain his stability in a hotter competition in competition with pilots such as hamilton, leclerc, sainz, russell, norris. So maybe a team other than red bull can win the teams championship. Ferrari seems the most likely in this case.

^  Oh right...  Didn't think about that one.  So yeah Red Bull has a way of easing young drivers in before giving them a drive in the senior team.  Less pressure and more development for the driver.  Kinda like what they're doing to Ricciardo.  He's doing the process all over again but as an older driver.  :/

Yup def a risk.  But if he's really a prodigy and they're willing to put up with the recklessness of youth then I couldn't see why not.  Red Bull did it with Verstappen and he got himself in somewhat a lot of dicey spots during his younger years as a driver.  But then look at him now, he turned into one of the best drivers F1 has ever seen.

But the pure fan in me wants to see either Alonso or the return of Vettel to take the second drive in Mercedes.

But Verstappen was also in the Junior RedBull Team Toro Rosso for two years before RedBull in 2015 and 2016, so I think it's much easier for a young driver to find his way into Formula 1 because the pressure from the team and the expectations are lower.

Personally, I would like Noris at Mercedes, but McLaren will have a lot against that.
