Sebastian Vettel decided to make all the mistakes on the 1st half of this season and be over with it instead of doing it similar to his last season's performance where he did all the mistakes in the 2nd half hehehe.
I reckon Sebastian might leave Ferrari after his contact expires on 2020.

Probably true. Schumi son tester after this race for Ferrari and he was to good, yesterday tested for Alfa Romeo and he was 6th. He definitely got thing ot two from his dad.
If Vettel is to leave Schumi son is first in line for that seat and with this Leclerc he could be next Ferrari team that they are so eager to have.

What a disappointing race for Frerrari, they were faster than Mercedes but something went wrong. Vettel spinned while fighting with Hamilton and few moments later he lost his front wing. Leclerc was first, had big advantage against Hamilton, but then engine problems occured and he lost all his pace. He dropped to 3rd place just in matter of few laps. If there would be no safety car deployed in last lap, Leclerc would been finished only 4th. He really deserved to win today. And Mercedes are very lucky today with double podium.
And wtf happened to both Renault drivers - their engines died almost at the same moment. Very strange moment.

Charles Leclerc takes his first career pole position in Bahrain GP, Vettel is second, Hamilton third, Bottas fourth. So far in qualification and practice sessions we saw total dominance of Ferrari. If they won't make mistakes, I think they're going to win easily. I just hope to not see team orders from Ferrari and they will let their drivers to race.

Hey I remember bbc.reporter saying how the Bahrain tracks will work in favour of Ferrari, and I have to admit I was wrong to say it won’t make any difference. I feel this race is Ferrari’s to loose, it’ll be interesting to see whether Charles or Vettel will win it. Also I’m sure Hamilton will try to cause an upset, but with Ferrari’s speed he may be unable to do it.

I reckon the warmer track temperatures of Bahrain might be what Ferrari needs to win the race. Barcelona had warmer temperatures and they did very good in testing before the season started.

In any case, if Ferrari ends behind Redbull again, I reckon that the Honda engine might be more powerful than what was first thought of it.

Hey I feel it’s just not about the tracks it’s about the winning mindset that Ferrari has been lacking since quiet a while now. Also did you hear that Williams have found a major problem with their car, and they won’t be able to fix it anytime soon. It’s also pertinent to note that McLaren has threatened to quit F1, I really doubt they’ll quit as this threat looks more like a negotiation technique to me.

Ferrari has always been in a fightning mindset since Sebastian arrived, however. They almost had a championship season if they did not have team and driver errors on the 2nd half last year.

Anybody wanna bet 20 USD vs me?  I say RBR will end up having more points than Ferrari this year?

I guess LTU_btc got dibs on this but if he doesn't want to, anybody trusted is welcome to take it.  Smiley
I'm in! Maybe this season Red Bull car is good enough to compete with Ferrari, but I don't believe that they will have more points. Main reason of that is their second driver Gasly, I don't think that he can bring big number of points in every GP all season long. Leclerc looks much better as second driver.

Nice!  Quoting your post as confirmation that the bet is on.  Wink

I'm not really gonna follow F1 as closely as I used to but this bet could make me.  Grin  GL HF!

I will correct you, track temperature was extremely low, maybe 10 degrees, we will not see such low track and air temperatures during the season.

The temperature of the track will have to do with the tires that the cars will wear.
There is nothing to do with any telemetric change on the set up of the car.
Ferrari will have a difficult season this year as well. I don't like that, because I was used to see more competition between teams in the past and now we see only Mercedes winning.

Track dont need to be the problem for any team, more its car end engine. For Williams they have several issues if the survive this season this will be good, they have besides car trouble and money issue. McLaren last i dont know five six season dont know what to do, they have blame first Honda now Renault, but seem to be that this is engineering issue. When will they make good car.  My quote for this maybe in 10 years or never.

Honda had good engine from the start we saw how it work on RB, so dont know what McLaren want anymore.

This race was very boring, start was only good part of the race. However still we have Mercedes dominance in Australia, Ferrari struggling yet again, and seem like Honda have good performance and issue all this years was McLaren engineers. Honda work perfectly with RB, so it comes to me that McLaren will never again make some good car they always say someone else is to blame for this.

0 comments after first F1 race of the season? C'mon, where are you guys!? What a confident win of Bottas! I think that Mercedes made mistake by making Hamilton pit stop so early, because Bottas had great pace with same age tyres and only made pit stop 8 laps later. But probably pit stop of Hamilton was just an reaction to pit stop of Vettel.
It wasn't good race for Ferarri, they weren't able to compete with Mercedes today. Also, Vettel lost position to Verstappen. And we saw good old team orders again when Ferarri didn't let Leclerc to try overtake Vettel.
Terrible start of season for Ricciardo - accident in start and early retirement.
Despite change of engine supplier Mclaren still looks bad, meanwhile Red Bull with Honda engines can compete with Ferarri or even Mercedes. But maybe it's too early to make such conclusion just after one race.

I reckon most of the people in the forum think it is boring.

In any case, the same strategy used by Toto Wolff. Pretend that they have a slower and a difficult to manage car than Ferrari during testing then pretend to be surprised that they have more speed than the Ferrari during race day hehehe.

Also do you'll think if Bottas wins more races, Mercedes will sacrifice Hamilton and allow him to be the new champion.
I don't think it's going to happen, Mercedes simply will not let Bottas to win many races. Hamilton will remain to be their favoured driver and Bottas still will be their second driver. I think this win is like a compensation for things that happened in previous season. It's impossible for Bottas to repeat story of Rosberg.

The first race of the season starts in a typical fashion with Mercedes winning it, only twist was it was Bottas who won and not Hamilton. I said it last year and will say it again Ferrari, were absolutely poor and if they continue like this I don't think they'll win this season. Also do you'll think if Bottas wins more races, Mercedes will sacrifice Hamilton and allow him to be the new champion.

Qualifying. Nothing new, Mercedes is fast, Ferrari "slow", improvement Mclaren in top 10 in first race. Teams to look for Alfa Romeo Racing. Just first impression. Williams I will not count cuz they are near bankrupt.

There is also news that driver who will make fastest lap in race and finnish in top 10 will get additional 1 point

This is true but this point will count to those who made fastest lap and finish race in top 10, more in points.

I am excited fo F1 to begin but I am sad with the passing of Charlie Whiting , my thoughts are with his family and friends. He was a great man in F1 world.
News about death of Charkie Whiting was shocking. He will be missed in F1. Rest in Peace...
@LTU_btc. I reckon McLaren will be better this year compared to the last how many challenging years hehehe. I also reckon that it might win versus the Renault and the Haas to be the top among the middle teams.
With new engine provider I alos have bigger expectations from Mclaren. For me it will be very interesting to watch Ricciardo performance in Renault, but I'm afraid that leaving Red Bull wasn't best his decisions. There is also news that driver who will make fastest lap in race and finnish in top 10 will get additional 1 point
