I use genoil ethminer , but hashrate is not easy to see with those settings : --farm-recheck 400 --cl-global-work 16384 --cl-local-work 256 -G -S

About memory clock, should I max downclock ?

i can find everything at around 430 euro on amazon, risers on ebay

Amazon gives me a good price for this set up (I have 850W power supply)

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 (PC3-12800) 240-Pin UDIMM Memory BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00/BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00 by Crucial
$33.98

ASRock Motherboard ATX DDR3 1066 LGA 1150 H81 PRO BTC by ASRock
$72.09

Intel Pentium Processor G3240 (3M Cache, 3.10 GHz) BX80646G3240 by Intel
$58.94

Patriot Torch 120GB SATA 3 2.5 (7mm height) Solid State Drive - With Transfer Speeds of Up-To 555 MB/s read and 535 MB/s write by Patriot
$39.99

Subtotal (4 items): $205.00

Should I start from loading with 2 R9 390 and later add 2 more?

Is this card good?

XFX DOUBLE DISSIPATION R9 390 1015MHZ XXX OC 8GB DDR5 DISPLAYPORT HDMI DUAL DVI
$320

seems that the 390 is the best, but polaris is coming not sure if it is wise enough to buy gpu now

Polaris according to my country's local agent, their Hong Kong office mentioned Q3/2016 launch... so we may be looking at Sept...
On the other hand, those Nanos are also good because of its superb undervolting capabilities.... I am getting a few and would be doing Ellovp/Heliox's ROM mod.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14404213
With his mod, the R9s can do the following: 134 Mh/s @ 2.25A, 495watt (6 Cards) stock settings rom OR 185 Mh/s @ 4.8A, 1050 watt (6 Cards) 1020 Core, 300 Mem
Mining ETH is about racing against time (before POS) so you will lose a couple of mullahs if you wait for Sept. My 2 cents.

Few questions :

- what is the best and fast way to check hashrate ? because at the moment I 'm looking at the pool 6 hour average hashrate but it takes long to check changes !

- my numbers are not perfectly accurate, but it seems that 0 or -100 undervolt doesn't change a lot the hashrate. Still about 150mh/s for 6 R9 290.

- if memory clock is not linked to hashrate , to what level can we reduce it ? it is linked to core clock ? I mean do we have to manage memory clock in case of slight core overclock ?

- What should I set in "power limit (%)" ?

- do someone have a link to download the stilt bios ? with simple but good explanations to install/use it ?

Which miner are you using? Claymore eth miner show hash, others too.

-100 undervolt will NOT affect your hashrate. It will help lowering power usage. Overclocking gpu core will improve hashrate, but not memory on 290, that is why its a good move to underclock memory to lower power usage.

Polaris isn't due to be for sale for months - and it'll be mid-range stuff initially, per every report I've seen to date.

390 and 290 seem to be the ETH sweet spots, if you can find 290s cheap enough they're worth the extra power usage IMO.

380 and 280 are pretty close though - downside is you need more cards to get the same hash, but on a $/Hash basis for a complete system it's not a big difference, and the redundancy might be a good thing.

XFX doesn't have a real good mining reputation.
The "go to" cards per most folks are Sapphire and Gigabyte, then ASUS MSI and EVGA, per most of my reading.
Personally, I have had VERY good experience with Sapphire, consider most HIS cards to be crap due to the cheap sleeve-bearing fans they use (their blower-based IceQ models are the exception), and have not had my EVGA cards long enough to count yet (but the ball-bearing fans SHOULD be long-lived and keep the cards alive a long time).
I have not actually used ASUS Gigabyte or MSI cards yet, though some of my motherboards are MSI and I've generally had decent luck with those so far.

In MSI Afterburner , I don't have the unit for voltage , I can go from -100 to +100.
Is -100 the same as -100 mV ?

Do you guys know if I can reduce voltage with a light overclock ?
With R9 290, I've tried to push core clock from 950 to 1000 Mhz, and reduced Memory clock from 1250 to 1200 as it appears Memory clock has not effect on Hashrate.
But I don't know if undervolt is suitable in that case ?

Try -100, 900/1125. If that works give some more core until it crashes and you have found your sweet spot. Hawaii with 512-bit memory bus is not memory limited on dagger like most other cards.

Thx , trying that now as it is quite simple to do !

-100 / 900/1125 seems to work , I'm now getting the core clock up and keep the memory at 1125.

What should I set in "power limit (%)" ?

what MHs do you get with -100 / 900/1125?

If all scale, you will get about 25.3 MH/s. But the memory speed can be much lower, it can be 950 to 1000.

I think the memory speed of the 290 series is not as good as the 390 series. You need the Stilt BIOS.

I have maxed at five pcs.

I had some pcs and a.lot,of parts .

I could do more, shifting but power wise I am maxed.

Just got back from a birthday party I am a bit spent.

I will post all five builds in the morning.

oh yes.. the msi cards have a larger fan run quieter and cooler..

I can't speak to other R7 370 boards, I just slowed the fan down to 70% from 85% and it's a bit quieter, and the temp is now at 55C.

Cheers,

what ill end up doing is buy one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835146037 and some cheap or middle cost closed loop water cooler it works with and water cool my two new ones then max over clock them , for eth mining. i have a 280 x and 7870 i use for every day use wced with that kit it hard to heat them up now,the 280 has a heat sink kit on the VRM memory to be safe, it works for me , That fits the 370 there is another one out by Corsair but i think it only mostly works  with there water coolers .

nice heat sink phi

yeah I always go under volt and down clock with gpus they simply last longer.  and are more efficient and are quieter.

yea it's to late because of were i bought it ..... dam same price to i wish i had done better shopping.

if its amazon dont they let you cancel until it ships?  you may have to call them.

at any rate, the mining of them would probably be the same.. its not a huge deal.. you get about 15m per 370. im mining with 270x  and i get 13m each.

all good i linked amazon but bought them here http://holybitcoin.com/ my two are msi cards i was told there suppose to be better .
