Strange that you didn't hear about this, bloodbath has been the word of the year so far, but I guess with the new floors found by so many coins yesterday, you couldn't have missed out on that.
If your intention a year ago was to hold, then at least you should take small assurances that the long term outlook is still the same for crypto. Maybe for altcoins not so much especially utility tokens. Then again, you never know how the market reacts.

So I’ve invested a bit of money into altcoins about a year ago, and did a bit of trading but then slowly lost the track of it... Until today, where I found my ledger in my closet and decided to give it another look.
So here I am now looking at my coins , and thinking on what to do... Hold on? Sell?...

Don't panic. Everyone is getting loose some money now. Bitcoin prices is dumping and we have a big damage already. I hope market will recover ASAP. Or there will be nothing to discuss about.
That's right. My all altcoins are down. On a day by day, it all prices goes down. In 2017 December my portfolio's all tokens had a nice value. But at this time it was decreased to 80%. It's a really sad thing for me and it's very effective to my self because crypto is my main income way. Now I planned to buy more altcoins and hold it for till end of this bearish market.
Currently I hold 3 coins, but my altcoin value is falling extremely low, the value of which indicates that the market is falling, and may not be able to rise further. more. My forecast is for the market to recover until late 2019.
Losing 60% since last year isn't too bad. Many have lost close to 90% of their holdings. Not much we can do except buy again to average down our losses Nd increase potential gains
advice from me might be to sell your altcoin and start to switch investments with bitcoin..!!

Do not focus on one coin, you need to split your money in different altcoins not only in Bitcoin. There is a lot of coins that good for investment, yes until now the situation of the market aren't well but you can take this opportunity to have crypto in a lower price.
my advice, if you don't have any more money besides the money you have used to invest, and you are in an important condition, then it's better to sell it. but if you still have other money for this purpose, it is better to hold it first

quiet, you have lots of friends and even with greater capital and lost quite a lot. waiting for the market to recover is the thing to do in such a condition. cutting losses had also been late in loss has reached 60%. so keep on hoping the market will reach the best point in the near future.

Sell, the market is broken down and now it will be even worse and lower. I think that total capitalization will reach 150 billion before the next stabilization occurs. Not only yours. I also have the huge losses after yesterday. But it's good. Before the weak hands come out then we will not start the growth.
Believe me, not only your projects have such a rapid fall, because the whole market is falling today and this is probably done because of the emergence of forks BCH, which was not so long ago a hyip, I don’t understand what the problem is true.
60% is too much to lose but there are many who lose more than it. Stop-lossing right now maybe is not a best decision. I believe stop-loss is best when you only lose 10% or lesser. Now, it's too deep that selling of everything doesn't seems to change anything. Just endure the pain for now.

That will result to increase of BCH, but it's not what is happening, the entire market dump and now we are below the $200 billion total marketcap. This is a nightmare to most of us but we will eventually understand that it's gonna go up again.
I'll hold my coins as I've only invested in money I can afford to loose, so I don't mind holding onto them for now I think.
You must do that, it's hard time for cryptocurrency market now, every coins dump to its lowest price, selling now is stupid and not recommended. We should hold because crypto is not dead, the bounce of crypto will be back very soon and your coins will give you extra money.

I also read a lot of articles on twitter saying that the main reason for this dumping is BCH harkfork, Hopefully it is right and the market may soon recover after today, BTC has fallen 1000 $ in a day and it was too horrible

I think you should sell your altcoins now. The market went down again and it was no longer safe. You should sell and keep your money before it's too late.
