So definitely there is something fishy about oil theft.

My vexation na way back wey Nigeria government go print 500 naira note and 1000 naira note so that make e easy for them to fit  thief big big money and you no go know. Another one be say Nigeria fit produce and process so many things for the country into finished goods but instead,them prefer to buy from foreign country, e come be like say we no fit do without them becos of inefficient government for example Nigeria get refinery dey carry crude go foreign country go refine pay them money for there,then come still import the products back to Nigeria becos the people wey dey in charge of exporting the crude and bringing it back to we country na dem no want make our refinery work. Only crude oil get so many byproducts wey you go get not only kerosene,diesel, gas,petrol e.t.c because crude oil na hydrocarbon. I won ask what of other byproducts like bitumen,asphalt and the rest,meaning the exporters dey sell all these byproducts for foreign wey be another source of producing other goods wey dey useful to us.

 All these problems na e dey make our Naira dey depreciate everyday by day. We need government wey go support investing for Nigeria country than dey go invest for another man country, and also repair any Nigeria property wey don spoil, so that we no go do dey rely on foreign people. All these go add value to Nigeria currency and economy.

I nor know if una dun end discussion for the other matter wey person start, I been dun dey look out for person to start this discussion for this pressing matter wey concern all of us. THE MATTER NA THIS OIL THEFT. Nor be even the one we know i dey talk about wey be the illegal bursting of pipeline and refining but the ones wey the bigger boys dey involved in wey be setting up illegal tapping point and smuggling the oil stolen out of the country in ships. Do you think there is anyway the people behind this oil theft can be able to pull this off without the help of the government?

Firstly, we need to stop to dey lie to ourselves abeg, foreigner wey read this your topic now go think say na wetin dollars be meanwhile men dey buy own #700+ for street. The main cause of devaluation of currency na the economy and this one no be news again as the country economy no dey do well but the government no go come out talk the truth. Dem go dey lie say we dey improve meanwhile no be so.

If we fit get our economy up and running, borders get open and business return to as e been dey before I believe the Naira go quickly regain some value against dollar. The Naira dun fall to the extent we go need more than four years of good governance to get some strength to the Naira but e no dey impossible.

That one no really they our hands as citizens, i know say citizens they play their own part through microeconomics, but the main thing wey go get effect pass on the economy na macroeconomics, and the people wey they control that one na our government, based on how them make some of their economic policies, how them handle inflation, how them sort our production, import and export, etc, all of that they for government hand, and in the case of Nigeria so ehn, our government they renowned in making very bad decision, so i no know wetin be the fate of our currency/economy. Having said that, even before microeconomics go boom ehn, macroeconomics gats they okay, because na the effect go trickle down for the benefit of small and medium scale businesses (microeconomics).

The matter hard me to understand also. Universities abroad deh generate funds through patronage, aids and grants to take run themselves and not depend on any government for salaries and overhead costs. But Naija own must always deh different because some people want to cut from government. Na the same thing with our clubs for local league. Na state governments of various states deh supply them cash to keep them going.

The Devaluation Of The Nigerian Naira

 A weak currency according to Ross Perot is the sign of a weak economy and which in turn leads to a weak nation.
According to Audu Ogbeh, the past Minister for agriculture and rural development, the tragedy of Nigeria started in 1986 when the then President, Ibrahim Babangida introduced the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP).

 The naira began it's downward descent when economists from Harvard advised it should be devalued, and sadly for virtually every week for 32 years the naira lost value. Another reason to be worried is that the naira was equivalent to the dollar and in close proximity with the pound sterling.
Presently, the US dollar to the naira is #433.72 and the pound sterling is £480.84.

 Nigeria has a problem of investing in local producers as a country, that is why you hear cases of the country spending $18m on toothpicks importation annually, $600m on fish annually and 5m eggs annually from South Africa. It actually makes no sense that a country which is richly blessed with natural resources and man power to produce and export is sorely dependent.

 What then can we do to restore the naira before it goes to debasement?

I observed one thing here most of the people commented here are doing it base on the political situation we are now in, some accused government just because they hate APC government and some accused ASUU because they are backing APC government.
But to my own perception both government and ASUU are responsible for deterioration of Nigerian education, owing to the fact that only in Nigeria that universities lecturers are paying by the government and strike is the only way for solving universities and lecturer's need. Is ASUU as a group of intellectuals can not find another alternative to press home their demands other than strike? What a shame!

Before now, I bin dey support ASUU, even when I be student under Jonathan regime weu de strike last for about 6months, I dey always support ASUU. But this time, I no support anybody again. ASUU na just association wey opposition dey use fight government wey dey for power. Which kind dialogue wey go reach 7 months but never yield results if it is done in a good fate.

Even students sef don tire to stay house and e don clear for their eyes say that ASUU hustle no go benefit them. Make dem resolve their matter amicably abeg.
