The restrictions are quite bothersome, but I suppose I understand why they need to be put in place. A forum like this is probably a beacon for bots, scammers, and whatnot. Just think, in the long-run, it's probably beneficial to you.

Just leave your browser open overnight while you're mining.

Bahhh I am guessing I still need the 4 hours online... booooooooo

It goes quick...

I swear... I have been reading for 3+ hours and I'm still at "1 hours and 24 minutes." lol

Always a good idea to have some sort of boundary's keeps the rif raf away and better posts on the board.

Yes, having to post 5 messages in the Newbie forum seems a bit much.

Actually, it seems to me that "time online" restriction is the harshest. At least for me, since the timer seems to be working weirdly (I've spent about 7 minutes logged in, and it says 3... odd)

I was wondering why it is impossible for my profile to post a new topic in mining section. Now I know...

Gruvie

After my Newbie probation is over, May I move my topic from here to an appropriate forum or will that be looked down upon as double posting?

You can actually move your topic. The link will appear at the bottom of all of your topics once you are no longer a newbie.

Interesting. I've never seen a forum give regular users permission to do that before.

The restrictions suck, but anything that's worth something has a price.  This isn't that bad for a better deal and an inside look at BTC.

But when you have to do these five posts in the newbiesection is going to be hard to not spam... I would like to discuss some merged mining with namecoin, what a awesome project btw, and maybe even ask doublec if he's going to put up a pool for that (and maybe even skip those crappy fees, the profit from rounding should be enough for such a site)... How am I going to make five more of these weird posts... (the ironic thing is that I've wanted to reply to many threads the last couple of months but never got around to create the account and thus have neither replies nor onlinetime, suppose the cookies or something kicks you out after a short while or this whole thing would be useless...).

I must say, it's very annoying to have to actually do this.

On one hand i guess i understand, but 4 hours online first ? Smiley
Where did that come from!?

4 hours is the magic robot/troll insurmountable waist high fence.

5 posts on the other hand, is just some dumb arbitrary measure...

I've been logged in for 4 hours and 8 minutes, and have > 5 posts; yet I still can't post outside this board?
