Argh, while I understand why you implemented such restrictions they offer more issues to legal (just like with copyright) members... Will start making posts just to post a response in real thread, what a joke!

P.S. I'm not a kid.

Hello,

I think you have it 100% right here, and I wish more forums would take your lead. I have done a lot of research on the Bitcoin market from the business/finance side of things. Great work!

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
- You need 50 posts to put an image in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

Good idea i just signed up and want to install solidcoin Smiley
stop all these spammers and trolls

The 5 posts/4 hours isn't too bad.  What's more annoying is it seems you've blocked the entire range of IP addresses used by 3 (mobile broadband supplier here in the UK).  So noone can sign up from that broadband supplier because some scammer used them in the past (that's the message I got when I tried signing up direct from 3).

Very few users have signed up using that ISP. I consider it more valuable to block this scammer. Clearly you've been able to sign up with some other ISP.

But maybe the site owners really don't care? After all, they are using SMF 1.1.14 - which has been long since superseded. 1.1.14 has quite a few vulnerabilities. If the owners can be bothered to upgrade the site to the latest version of the forum software, then they probably don't give two hoots about the people who want to post here...

1.1.14 is still supported.

Well, so far, I've clocked up 1 hour and 23 minutes reading the threads that I wanted to post in. I'm now starting to lose interest in this site... which is a shame, as I believe I have a lot to offer.

If the admins here had more mods, there would be no need for this plainly ridiculous system. In my 20 years online, I've never seen such a draconian system implemented on a forum.

Good way to crack down on trolls/stupid people, sadly I have to wait even though I am not one of them.

It's a shame people feel a need to troll in the first place, but that's the best thing about the Internet - everyone can have a voice.

Unfortunately, lots of humans are bad at thinking of something worth saying.

Well, right now I have 21 posts and my total time logged in is 4 hours and 3 minutes.

The release access is automatic or to wait a moderator free my account?

I ask this also.

This is a good rule but at the same time I registered just so I could give a good review for bitcoinexchance.cc.  They provide excellent service.  2 more posts and I can give them a proper review in their thread.:-D
