its just to keep holding untill they list on another exchange. if its really a good project then you dont need to worry about holding it, a good thing that you have the coin in your wallet. good project will maintain its quality no matter what matters.

So I bought an altcoin called batcoin from a cryptocurrency exchange website. I even withdrew all my coins to an offline wallet, because I don't exactly trust exchange websites. However, the exchange it was listed is now gone, due to a hack.

So now I am stuck with coins that have no value.  Undecided

What do you think I should do now?

I have few tokens like this which I got from bounties I participated in, few years ago and there is nothing I could do than to leave them in the wallet because they have no value again and they are not something you can discard. So, the only thing you can do is to hold on to your coin and just leave it in your wallet hoping that someday it can come back to life

This is not just the case with the tokens you purchase. There are many altcoins that are delisted from various exchangers due to low market volume and lack of trade and later become almost worthless. In the past, there were many tokens that were given to investors and bounty participants after the ICO, but later they were not listed on the exchange, so they did not get any market value or could not be sold. So for the growth of an altcoin, it is very important to list in a good quality exchanger along with its development team. So before making an investment decision, you need to choose good quality altcoins and consider whether it includes a first-rate exchanger and its trading volume and the investor's interest in it.

No exhcange? No party Cheesy, of course if you have several coins or tokens that cannot be sold or traded in the market then it is the same as junk coins but don't cry buddy, if your token is based ETH platform then you can still sell it on Etherdelta or Forkdhelta if these two exchanges still aren't dead Grin. after this be careful before investing.
So many coins are listed in the several exchanges but no volume & trade history it’s a dead project. I think listing an exchange doesn't mean you can hold shit coin. Erc-20 tokens have major advantages those can be trade without any centralized exchange listing, although i feel unsafe do trade here.

Its not just the fact that having no exchange means the token or coin you are holding has no value, that also depends on whether the platform where that token is usable is not operating anymore. That is why even before buying tokens out of sheer excitement, we need to do some research regarding the token we are buying. We need to gain knowledge about what we want for us to gain profit from it.

that's the risk of playing with shit projects if indeed you buy and sell at the right time maybe you can get a big profit.
but now the market is no longer there, and your coins are no longer valuable, do some research before buying any coins, calculate when and buy and sell them. Cheesy

I can't emphasize this enough ; a coin is only as valuable as what people are willing to sell it for. Just to give an example, bitcoin is $9.3k right now, that means people are willing to sell at worst $9.3k for it, if there were people who are willing to sell for $5k, they already sold it for that.

It means for this time being, lowest people are willing to sell for is $9.3k and not lower, otherwise price would have gone down. That exists for altcoins as well, whatever people are willing to sell for is the bottom of that price. However if it is not on an exchange, how could you know what people are willing to buy or sell it for? You can't know that and that is one of the reasons why no coin could have any sort of price point without knowing what people are willing to sell it for or buy it at.

i hear what you saying and it is absolutely part of the game , if you buy early in a project you could have a bag of gold in later days but on the other side there is always the risk that the project end up dead before it even was on an exchange
That's the attractive reason why many are buying on the early days of the project. They will make you think that you are holding a lot of gold through their coin or token even though it's not yet listed to any exchange.
But the sad thing is that whenever you have invested on any project and after a long time of monitoring, updates and questions to the entire team, you get nothing. You will feel bad with that and that's a worse feeling that you can get through investing with project and during these times, they are not feasible anymore, for real.

First is look into the team and be sure the are still active about the project, if the team are actually doing well with development of the project and perhaps trying to get listed on another exchange,
Maybe also make sure they have an active platform like Telegram to reach out to the team and ask questions regarding the project development, if not, then there is no need to hold worthless token.

This is a lesson learned to newbie or many who do enter in the market without collecting more information about the project. Buying a coin that has only one exchange is very risks thing to do that it may lose all your capital. No exchange of your coin will definitely a stock in your wallet. Hence, it is really necessary to be more cautious before investing and buying a coin.
That's a good practice either. Before diving and invest you should have further research before investing on it.
I'm not particularly investing coin that listed only one exchange or even not yet hit on an exchange, they are very risky to invest and you don't know if they will have a value at the end.

I think OP should accept the fact that not all investors will earn too much money, this is part on risk that you should always be ready whatever happens to your coin. Dont put all your egg in one basket and might good if you focused on top coins listed on Coins Market Cap.

I'm just curious why did you buy a token that only has 1 exchange? however, it is a risk to buy coins outside of popular coins.
It's truly a risk without studying all the fundamentals, you should know what you are investing and what are the plans
coming from the developing team.

other than that, it looks like it's not a very good exchange, and I'm also curious about what exchange has been hacked? however, before buying a coin make sure that it has a lot of exchanges

One of the factor is to know if the coin are already available with good exchange around, it gives you much better chances to
trade your coin in case things unexpected happen to your assets.

It doesn't make the project a dead one but only the team can bring light into this, they have to find another exchange to list the token on and if the team or channel group is dead it means that the project is abandoned

It turns out that you can not do anything in this situation. There is only one option left, to wait and hope that the project and its cryptocurrency come to life and enter a new trading platform. But unfortunately this is a small percentage of probability. You need to study this project right now, clarify its future plans and draw a conclusion. Perhaps you have already lost your money and you need to come to terms with this. The main thing to remember is that any investment is a risk. To play this game you need to be prepared for any outcome. I am sincerely sorry that you were in this situation. I myself hold a number of different coins and tokens in the hope of the best!

There are some projects that rather focus on development than on listing on the exchange, it is mainly token after listing doesn´t have a value, is not backed by a real business and the price constantly falling down - to prevent this, you develop product and after that, you make a partnership with a reputable exchange.

lots of exchangers do not have volume instead they dare to make the fraud volume it usually happens with a new exchanger it's better to trade on an big exchanger and already have a big name so that assets don't just disappear

there is nothing to do but wait for the project management team to renew the site's domain, but if there are no changes then you have to let it go.

If that coin even can be traded on the etherdelta exchange site doesn't mean that will have value. So many shit scam coins have already used etherdelta (this is dead right now and it has already replaced with forkdelta) as alternative exchange site but they have no demand and then dead coin.

I don't know what is your reason for buying coins/tokens and really trusting them. I think you are not doing enough research before choosing to invest. I have never heard of the project you are talking about. Maybe you lack information so that you make the wrong choice. There is nothing you can do besides hodl and give up your money not to return unless the project really has a good plans in the future.

He maybe a newbie in this market, and he trusts someone to make investment decisions. Obviously he made a wrong choice and hoped he would draw a lesson and maybe be more careful in the future. Only top altcoins should be purchased and listed at major exchanges
