It is not the exchange that is lost, but the altcoins you hold are dead because they are not even registered on any exchange. I personally do not really know their track record but in the absence of exchanges to trade the tokens then it proves that if the tokens are indeed not worth holding, if at that time the tokens have value then immediately sell the token but you choose to hold it and now it is proven it is wrong choice and you must be able to accept it because there is nothing more you can do to restore it.

Of course, if the coin isn't listed in an exchange, then how it can have value. No one trades the coin if it isn't listed in an exchange yet. But if you still keep the coin in your private wallets, you may have a chance to see that coin listed on an exchange anymore. Have you contacted the team members of batcoin and ask them about the plan to list on a new exchange? They can plan to list the batcoin to a new exchange. Anyway, I advise you to not buy a coin that is listed on a small/untrusted exchange only. You are better to buy a coin listed on top exchanges or big exchanges. It will be much better if the coin has already been listed on some exchanges and have big volumes there.

First I do not know much about this project, secondly, you did the right thing by withdrawing your funds or assets to an offline wallet so that you will have control over it, what if you didn't? It would have been a different case altogether. Now that the exchange is hacked and gone just like you said, it is now left for the project team to look for another exchange to list their token and continue from there, but however this will depend on how good the project team is. Yes, for now it might have no value but once listed again, it will have a value, so you have to wait for it and also engage the team to know what next they are planning to do.

If that project is good they can list on other exchanges nothing to worry about. but if they only have that hacked exchange and they didn't do something about it looks like they don't care about their investors. Searching online I only found this https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/batcoin/ with no info at all. It seems like a scam coin for me. If they have telegram/discord community better go there and ask for updates because it looks like a dead coin. I guess it is better to move on and forget this sh*tcoin if they will be listed on other market that's good if not, better not to do the same mistake again.

It is indeed a scam coin. OP was probably looking for a quick win, but it backfired on him. Happened to me too on several occasions.
But even if a coin gets listed on a major exchange, they can still become a scam.

Lol, I have had this kind of experience before. This doesn’t have anything to do with the exchange. If the team that owns and manages the coin are active you will still see it and it will have value. I have received tokens once and stored them on my Trust wallet and the next thing I wake up to see it having no values at all, and it has already dropped to $0.00. So, it happens because the team that runs the project are no longer there, they have abandoned it.

Reasons like this are why people are no longer trusting new projects. Before you buy any new token, it’s best to look deep into it, so that you will know what you’re buying.

So I bought an altcoin called batcoin from a cryptocurrency exchange website. I even withdrew all my coins to an offline wallet, because I don't exactly trust exchange websites. However, the exchange it was listed is now gone, due to a hack.

So now I am stuck with coins that have no value.  Undecided

Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

What do you think I should do now?

Your right if the token is not listed in any exchanges the token will have no value at all. Just like what other dead altcoins in the market end up because the owner of the project didn't really put an effort to get the token or altcoin listed in the exchange. Without the exchange, the market price would be zero. Also, you cannot sell your holdings, the thing here is if the exchange it was listed was hacked you might need to find a new exchange that is listed or going to be listed. It's not going to get a price so you need to wait until it gets listed in a new exchange but I doubt it a lot of tokens is not going to get listed in some popular exchanges.

the coin sounds like a coin from brave browser but isnt that called called bat token only ? not batcoin . this is the problem of buying new coins because they are listed on a wierd exchange or a new exchange that dont have a repuation yet which can easily be shutdown  . the listing is also limited to few number of exchanges  which is risky like what happen to the op here  though what the op did is a nice move ( transferring his coins to a wallet instead of exchange )  . the only thing that he can do is to wait , if his lucky maybe the team cames back to list the coin on another exchange

There is nothing that you could do anymore since the project is dead this should be a lesson for you and for everyone who would read this thread.
Before you invest on anything dedicate sometime to do some research so you wouldn't end up losing everything.
The project is already dead for so long so why did you even invest in it?

Well, you have mentioned it all, when there's no exchange platform to dump your tokens, hence no value at all. And worse still, some project's are already dead. You can continue to hodl on to the tokens in deep believe of a miracle or you burn the token, the choice is all yours

Most exchanges delist a coin when the volume is too low, the scam version rarely ever happens even if they are scam because exchanges only care about the volume. The reason why exchanges care about the volume is the fact that when there is a huge volume, that means exchange makes profit, if there is no volume that means they are not making any profit at all.

So, you could have a scam coin that owners just stole all the money and left, but if it has high volume with people selling and for some reason others buying, they would still keep that coin up in order to make more money as an exchange. However you can have a proper coin that is worked on but has very little funding so everything takes some time, and they will delist you in a heart beat, since they do not care about how good or bad you are, only care about how much they profit from you.

Many altcoins are like that now, usually the coin is the result of ICO, IEO, or ITO programs. Developers reasoned that they would improve their products first so that they were delayed from registering on the exchange. Such reasons will only make investors no longer trust the coin.

I think you can research on them about the one that can grow and you can just move on. Abandon them as well in your wallet for sometime but don't delete them off until they are not found in any exchange anymore.

Without exchange, it has no value at all. Even if there was exchange, I doubt such shit project would have a value. Can you share how you purchase this coin? I have never heard about this coin. Also, which exchange are you taking about? Can you share? It seems like the exchange was also part of well planned scam trick.

Is this the same coin as what they give in brave browser? BAT right?

All you can do is wait for them to be listed in another exchange.
I bet they will if they really want to have more buyers and also for the value to increase.
The question: Did you do your research before buying it? Is there really a future for it? Or is it just because of a hype in the chatbox?

At least, there's still hope in this case. It's not that he left his coin in the exchange but it is in his possession. So yes, what he can do right now is closely follow this project and definitely it will be listed again if this is really a good one. Is this the Basic Attention Token (BAT) that he is talking about? Can the OP add the thread or website that he is referring to?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bat-ann-basic-attention-token-1947864

Yeah, is that the same with this, or they just luckily had the same name?  Grin

Yours started in 2017.
While what I saw started in 2014.
What did he really buy?
IIRC, every coin that is delisted from an exchange is mostly because of very low volume or nothing at all.
This means, there are not many buyers for this coin anymore but more sellers.

You say buy from crypto exchange website?? What is that exchange?
That's why before buy cryptocoins, make sure that many exchanges support it. Because we can sell it in another exchange if something wrong

I think, the only way you must to do is hold your coins until new exchanges comes, Follow their telegram to see announcement about that

I have never heard of batcoin before, sad to hear that the exchange site has been hacked and maybe you can't do anything with the coins you have now. maybe batcoin will have the same fate as exchanging coinsmarkets
At first glance, if we see from the name that is the copy paste from Bitcoin, the coin maker only replaces one letter to attract everyone's attention, Grin this looks very funny because they managed to trap several people.

The only thing that you can do is HOLD and hope in a future listing. Pay attention in the future to this kind of investments. Collect more info about the project and listings because a coin without pairs has no value!
That project is already abandoned and the only thing that the OP can do is to either hope for some other team to pickup this coin and restart the project, but the chances of it happening are pretty less. OP should have done a research prior to buying his coins, maybe he was greedy to make some profit on low marketcap coins, but was unlucky to have suffered such loss. If you are a new person in investing then you shouldn't play with low volume coins and the coins which aren't even in the top 100 list of altcoins, I guess you will learn something good from your mistake.

I'm sorry but you can't do anything about it now. If there will be no exchange for your token, and as what other people have said that the project was already abandoned, then there's nothing else you can do but to keep it in your wallet.
Yes, and actually this should not be discussed too deeply, because I'm sure everyone has also experienced something like this even if only once, this is more to the risk when someone is not doing research on a project that he likes at the time.

You have nothing to do here. You should have done more research before investing in any project like this. This type of scam became very popular nowadays. A new project came and offer IEO in their own exchange. After the IEO end project team and exchange both gone. Trust only those IEO that are arranged by the popular and well-known exchange. And sorry for your loss. Those tokens are valueless and you can do nothing.
