I’m equally baffled as to why WI are performing so poorly especially in home conditions, and I strongly feel that the WI management should immediately introspect and ring in necessary changes that can help the team improve.
Well... I am not surprised. During the last few years, West Indies have performed poorly in cricket, apart from T20 format. The only good thing that happened to them during this period is the involvement of West Indian players in IPL and the success of the Caribbean Premier League. And although this might have helped the individual players, the grassroots cricket in West Indies continue in downward slide. And this is further exacerbated my the largescale migration of youngsters from this region to the United States and Canada.
Migration haven't affected the cricket in West Indies. As of now the cricket board served to be a big problem. Out of pressure most of the senior players announced retirement from cricket. Further the young team have been formed, and slowly they've shown progress. West Indies players involvement is a big success for them, and this has helped them to improve their cricket as well as on financial side.

Cricket is always a luxury when you don’t have food to eat. You know, that the situation of cricket in the West Indies is not very favorable. The board is also facing some problems. And we all know that even the players experienced some problems with the board.
Currently, similar complaints are coming from several countries which is not good news for cricket. A cricketer loses interest in his game if he does not get his due. On the other hand, if the board opposes them politically, there is no doubt that cricket in those directions will be destroyed. We know there is a wide gap between a cricketer's and a footballer's income which makes people more attracted to football. So for the larger interest of cricket we should evaluate a cricketer.
Yes it is true that cricket players are not appreciated by many of them. The respect that they have is not given by any country. If the players of each country are well respected then they will be more motivated and more respectable for the team.I want players from all countries to be treated with respect and given their true status

India collected only 37 runs in 8 overs. India will have to give a target of 320 to win today. West Indies batsmen are in good form. So it will be very difficult for India to win on such a pitch with a target below 300
Bet on India in this match. They scored around 87 runs now in 17 overs which is decent and they will accelerate pretty soon. I feel that they might reach something close to 350 due to the depth of their batting line-up.
West Indies will need to bat spectacularly if they wish to defeat India in this final ODI. Let's see what happens.

India collected only 115 runs in 24 overs. Although India lost only 1 wicket. But their run rate is now only 4.79. So I don't see any possibility of a run like 350. However, the match is being delayed due to rain. There is no guarantee when the match will be played again. It has been raining for a long time. The match is likely to be abandoned.

This West Indies side did not impress me. They have already lost the ODI series and this series is not over, but they are heading toward a 3-0 loss. A half century was scored by both Indian openers, but skipper Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed at 58 runs. Rain interrupted play and we're waiting for the game to begin. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer batted. We'll wait until the pitch is ready by the groundstaff.

West Indies vs India

India's captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bat in the third ODI match against West Indies. As the pitch is batting friendly, batting first and giving big targets on such pitches will have more chances of winning. Dhawan and Gill are batting very carefully. India collected only 37 runs in 8 overs. India will have to give a target of 320 to win today. West Indies batsmen are in good form. WICB is a very incompetent cricket board. At the same time, some of the senior players have been behaving as if they are not answerable to anyone. It is OK if they want to prioritize T20 franchise leagues over national team duty. But when they play for the national team (in case of West Indies I am not sure whether it can be termed as "national team"), these players bring all sort of negative influence with them. And the ICC, as usual has remained as the silent spectator. They have refused to get involved in this mess.
I do not think ICC has the jurisdiction of controlling players. Such issue has to be handled by the respective board through disciplinary actions. ICC is a global administrator for cricket and does not have the right to interfere in a countries cricket board issues. Above all the recent Westindies side is far better and competitive with all the new players. They are giving a tough competition to the Indian team as all matches won by India were very close one. I am sure in the next IPL a few new players from this WI side might get selected by a franchise.

Now revival of West Indies cricket is never been easy because we all know it's not a country historically they are neighbors and having just one team for geographically situation, and they were one of the best in cricket history but sadly as politics enter and involvement of money have his impact then suddenly they feel few issues and personal likes and dislikes with seven countries are looking for their quota is other problems this all kills their natural game.

Now they are on verge of end with just CPL is having some good hopes for them with this if they can sit again for the game and positive table talk about their future hopefully with this they can do some positive about domestic set up and cricket academies for bowling and batting then maybe they will have some good future and can fight back otherwise in current situation most chances they will down and out from this all.

Chris Gayle, who is the biggest superstar of the West Indies, did not play for the national team. This was because he was not being given the proper amount of money that he deserved. Right now it feels like West Indies only has really high chances of winning against weaker opponents. They can give it a good fight if they are playing against teams like Bangladesh. But otherwise, they really don’t seem to be winning. Because the quality is actually not there.

Bapu (Axar Patel) is turning out to be really good bat in the down the order. From now on i don't think selectors are going to drop him from White ball squad.
Yeah. He is a great talent and is proving to be one of the best all-rounders in the Indian squad these days along with Thakur.
squad?
Thakur shouldn't be anywhere near white ball team, most of the time he's looks like a big liability tbh. If he wants to be a regular member of 1st string team then he needs to work on his white ball game, he does take wickets but also leak runs every single time.

@JSRAW I always felt that he was just a squad player, but now I feel that he definitely deserves to be in the playing 11 because he seems to be revitalised and having an extra all rounder will definitely help team India.
Not easy to get in Playing XI as competition is tough. Jaddu is sure shot selection, Chahal is leggie and doing quite job for the team (talking about WC team). 3 spinners in the playing XI is tough one for the selectors.

Sad to see that West Indies is unable to win against a third-string or fourth-string Indian side, and that too at home. Their batting was more or less OK, as the West Indian batsmen are able to put up totals of more than 300 on board. But the bowlers have leaked runs. Alzarri Joseph was the only West Indian bowler who looked as if he was capable of troubling the Indian batsmen. Others, such as Romario Shepherd and Kyle Mayers were treated with disdain. And I don't even want to comment about their spinners. Akeal Hosein went for 8 runs per over.
After watching second ODI and their fifth consecutive defeat now feeling their bowling is completely crap they need some revolutionary changes in this department if they want to do some positive in future because there were no depth in this all and their quality spinner was also completely helpless and have no control and quality for having some good result.

Even their batting is doing much better than last series against Bangladesh where they were completely outclassed against bowling attack of Bangladesh but now in this series their bowling attack is down-and-out Joseph is better but alone he can't bring positive results for his team he also needs some help from other end as well for having better game and end.

I am hoping to see another interesting game of cricket and looking at the effort & performance of the West Indies team, they also deserve a win, don't they?
They do deserve a win, but the morale is probably low in their camp right now due to two close calls in a row which could help India in a big way. Also, why isn't a world-class bowler like Narine in the squad?

In the first ODI India scored 308 runs and West Indies came close reaching 305 runs. It was really a thriller match till the end, because West Indies have lost 6 wickets and Hosein 32(32balls), Shepherd 39(25balls) were on the crease. India somehow managed to win the match.

In the second ODI, West Indies scored 311 runs and India chased the target with two balls left. In between the match turned completely towards West Indies, and with the marvelous batting from Axar India won the match in a thrilling way.
We have one of the best ODI series because mostly peoples were not going to follow this after having the worst result of West Indies against Bangladesh but with having few new talented players and now changing strategy is also working for them even still it needs good time and more effort from them, but they are doing best job.

Here no praising Indian youths is not good because without all their senior players these youths are also doing amazing job and having two well deserved wins which are going to give them good confidence for future and these are good signals for next world cup which is going to be in India in 2023. All players are having good touch with ball and bat and having two time 300+ is surely going to be good in second match Axar is having very good effort until end of the match as mostly we are feeling it's going to be West Indies win, but he changes all things with his brave batting.

They were entertaining indeed. I expected India to whitewash them, but I didn't expect them to win by such narrow margins. I feel sad for West Indies since both matches could have gone either way, but luck sided with India.

It would be crazy if the 3rd match went down to the wire as well, but I am not expecting that to happen. My prediction is that India will win comfortably in the final ODI.

Both teams played equally well in both ODIs and its fully entertaining. Second ODI was complete thriller where India won by 2 wikcets and 2 balls to spare. While India won first odi by just 3 runs. West Indies should try to win third odi to avoid white wash.
