So does this mean that the percentage is still small or they have not yet reached the expected target for vaccination? So this program was created to encourage their citizens to undergo vaccination. There are three vaccines authorized, which one will they use? Or can the citizen choose what they want? Well, this is free money after all, and if the results of the vaccines are good, but that's probably why many are still really hesitant because of its possible side effects or the thought that their body might not accept it.

I think a lot of people will grab it, especially those who don't have anything and really need money, that's big money.

I wont risk myself with side effects just for slim chance on hitting that million.  Wink

There might be some good vaccines on this moment but doesn't mean that they would really be that effective towards on not yourself on getting infected with the virus.

Time will tell on how these vaccines were effective towards the said virus and that would be the time I will might recognize nor consider myself on getting some shot.

It sounded like a lottery though! But this isn’t a great idea in my opinion.  I think it would be better to use the fund on advertising and educational videos that would make the people know why they had to be vaccinated.

Publishing experiences of existing covid suffering patients without exposing their identities is more effective to this.  I wonder if the backlashes and negative reactions to the approach are already there.  But I can rest assured, people would react crazy on this.

I still remember the days where I was convinced to take make buy booster shot for anti-rabies.  It was the approach used and without any hesitation, after watching the video they produced before the vaccination process I actually rushed to be vaccinated.

It's a great initiative and it's actually amazing what counties are willing to do in order to keep their nations safe and healthy.
And this makes me also angry with the other governments that don't treat their people that well and also with these stupid people that are needed to be paid in order to agree to vaccination.
Many people are suffering all over the world and they have to pay for the vaccination. Also, in many countries, there's a huge deficit of vaccines, and people are dreaming of getting one, even if they have to pay for it.
While in others people need a special treat for that...

In an attempt to increase the number of people getting vaccinated all kind of incentives are being given in the US, one of the most interesting is that those that get at least the first dose of the vaccine at Ohio will have a chance to win one million dollars, apparently there will five be prizes so a total five million dollars will be given for those that are willing to take the vaccine, and for those that are below the age of 18 there will be full scholarships being offered as well.
This is the first time i am hearing about giving out incentives for anyone taking the vaccine. People might be reluctant to take the vaccine because of fear and the government has to come up with something to attract people to do so. To be frank it is a bit crazy as there are countries that do not have enough vaccines and here government is pleading to come forward so that they can get vaccinated .

I was also surprised to find out that a government had the idea of offering lottery prizes to participants who wanted to be vaccinated. This idea is
good and quite effective in my opinion, especially in a pandemic situation like now, where most people are experiencing financial difficulties.
I'm sure the number of people who will be vaccinated will increase dramatically knowing what this lottery offers. Previously, people were hesitant
and a little afraid to be vaccinated, because they feared there would be side effects from the vaccine.
Good into those places because not all country does have the budget for that where they do ran off with some lottery scheme just for their people to get vaccinated.

Lucky for those citizens who do reside where theyre government is really minding off for them to get vaccinated and made out such ideas where if it compared here in my country

where they arent really showing something dedication to distribute those vaccines and just give out some priority into those people who do have much better status in life
but for poor ones? Meh.

Among all of the current vaccines that we do have then it does depend on what type to be vaccinated. This is some sort of desperation step for its government on targeting that each citizen should
be vaccinated and its no surprise that majority would really be still hesitated to do so due to possible complications or side effects which i do even think off and thats why
i dont tend to get vaccinated and also with that current offering about having a vaccine to get some chance on winning a million then i wouldnt still
consider it to be a good idea.

actually, it is only one of their ideas or people to get vaccinated. a couple of weeks ago, an article was published about the $100 as Incentive to Get a Shot . from the recent survey of UCLA, they got higher percentage of response that if there will be monetary incentives for inoculation, they will do so. and just like the 'West Virginia’s governor, Jim Justice, announced the state would give young people $100 bonds if they got an inoculation' as per the same article
this, i guess, will indeed be implemented in some states just to encourage their constituents to get vaccinated. lucky for them, whereas, in other parts of the world, covid vaccine is still far from their doorstep.
There are countries which arent really giving out these kind of offers or some gimmick when it comes on trying to make out some vaccination of their own citizens.
Here on my place where vaccines where already available but there are no these kind of offers for people to recieved once they get vaccinated.
If there are something like this then no doubt that lots would really be falling in line and make themselves vaccinated in spite
of the current risk of side effects.

A really good way to promote vaccination and at the same time incentivize the act of taking care of yourself in a way that completely tricks the human mind. Lotteries are the clickbait of gambling and since it works, it can be implemented in every way you can think of really, especially in concepts like these. Hope to hear more from this Ohio Vaccination Lottery to see if there will be a winner, but the fact that this amped the vaccination rate can be considered a win in and of itself already.

Lol! What a stern contrast of wealth discussion disparity! In rich countries, people are getting incentives to get vaccine shots and in poor countries, people are buying vaccines from bootleggers by paying a fortune. But what else can be expected when the richest 1% controls the half of the wealth in the entire world. Sad but true! No wonder why people from all other countries want to move to US for good.
I know right? If I was given the option to take the vaccine now I will gladly take it without any questions asked but to think there are countries in which the vaccine is so readily available and people have to be convinced to take it seems as such a crazy idea that it is difficult to accept it as true, and yet here we are, I think it is a good idea and if it helps people to get vaccinated then there is nothing wrong with that, but still the contrast is there for everyone to see.

Why would you be against it ?
Vaccination is important. It literally eradicated some diseases that had the potential to be like COVID and now people are dragging the government on that.

What am worried about is :
People making fake vaccination cards , this could be catastrophic because the they could potentially spread virus in those casinos where the people with vaccination are not liable to wear masks.

•Plus the casino can't confirm the status of each and everyone for sure.

This is a good decision. They should think about how to make sure that people are not doing frauds in these things also.

Their government is really pushing their citizen to get vaccinated, maybe they know the consequences of getting vaccinated so they are offering huge amount of money to those persons, so of course, with that amount of money, a lot of people will encourage to get vaccinated, well those people who will have the vaccine will take the risk because the vaccine is still not that pure, we are worried on what would be the effect to the person once they get vaccinated.

I think it's a really curious situation. If the government is doing this giveaway it's because a considerable parcel of the local population avoid being vaccinated.
Before saying if the lottery idea is good or not, I would like to know why Ohio's citizens don't want the vaccine. If they have a point on the discussion, the lottery might be a bad idea, because it's a kind of bribery to make people change their minds. And opinions can't be bought. Opinions can only change through the logical debate of the facts and truth.

This is really a good initiative to make people get vaccinated. There is fear among people relative to covid-19 vaccine for different reasons. This lottery offering will make more people get vaccinated. The one who win these lottery prizes seems to be the luckiest, because people are much worried of covid-19 and by the time getting million out of covid-19 is true luck.

That's one of the best offer and alternative to get them locals vaccinated. Lucky they have these local government body who's really working on for their people's wellness.
Unlike from the other country's government units who has been continuously stealing money from the people amidst the pandemic.
Now, In my country I've heard the government has been planning to make a compulsory vaccinations for all public and private employees, and they will sell it to the companies at a very high price.

Thats a pretty cool idea to promote vaccination and get people to get the injections. I just looked that the Ohio population is around 11.5m people, if we would say that around 7-8m people will get the vaccine than we have winning chances of 5 in 8m to become a millionaire, or better 1 our of 1.6m people will get the money. That is awesome chances of winning, much better than any of the big lotteries. Unfortunately I don't live in Ohio  Sad

If this is what it takes for people to be convinced to get vaccinated then I agree with it. Different states have their own unique offerings to those who get inoculated. It is not just Ohio which offers certain perks. Some other states have also their own enticing freebies. But it seems Ohio has offered the highest possible prize all around the US to make sure people would get immunized.

That is a good idea to attract people to be vaccinated because I heard that many do not want to get vaccinated. I do not know why they do not want to get vaccinated, maybe they are afraid of other things. If the government can give a reward to them for getting vaccinated, it could get their attention and maybe they will realize that it is important to get the vaccine to protect them from the virus. At least, that will be the first aid for them from the virus, although that does not mean they are immune from the virus.

I really cannot care how people promote the virus or vaccinations but I guess this is much better than having contests betting on infections rate and death rates which I thought was so tasteless from some books.

This news does make me sad that in countries where there are enough vaccines you have to CONVINCE them to be safe while other countries are so desperate for them:(
