I won't get myself vaccinated just to have a chance to get millions of money.
For some reason, your perception of vaccination is like the government gets some kind of benefit by vaccinating you. I mean what do they gain if you get vaccinated? Nothing. Still getting something for free just adds more value for you and gives you a reason to get vaccinated.

I have a neighbor who died after she get vaccinated and the family only received 1 sack of rice (50kg) and then forgotten that it happened. Even now in my country, if you get vaccinated you'll get money right after. Each people have different body and the immune system is also different because some are strong and some are weak.
50kg rice for a death sounds bizarre because they should rather be given some kind of financial help. Although as unfortunate as the incident is, I don't think the vaccine would have been the reason for her death and should that be the reason, the vaccine surely would have been replaced or put into review by the government and medical staff.

Some people are spreading fake news so please be aware of that too, one section of society for some reason doesn't want people to get vaccinated.

To come to the point where the government has to give someone an incentive just to have their lives safe from the virus is pretty appalling. I find this kind of thing sad and impressive because people are outright rejecting the vaccines because they believe that it is the one that's going to kill them and impressive because they found the right bait for those stupid anti-vaxxers to vaccinate themselves.

There is almost the same game in my place now in which the Mayor of the city is offering amount tfor those who will go with the vaccination , actually everyone is entitled of small amount and some foods for all of us.

But of course i love if this will come to 1 million bucks offering   Cheesy

The level of entitlement is surprising. First of all they are offering the vaccines for free. And remember that these vaccines are quite expensive. One dose of the Pfizer vaccine costs $37 and on top of that there are logistical complexities to take care of. Storage of the vaccine is very difficult, as it needs to be kept at extremely low temperatures. A large part of the tax revenue (which is affected by the economic downturn resulting from the pandemic) is going towards the vaccination program. And despite all this, people demand more and more freebies.

In an attempt to increase the number of people getting vaccinated all kind of incentives are being given in the US, one of the most interesting is that those that get at least the first dose of the vaccine at Ohio will have a chance to win one million dollars, apparently there will five be prizes so a total five million dollars will be given for those that are willing to take the vaccine, and for those that are below the age of 18 there will be full scholarships being offered as well.

What do you think of this? Do you agree with what the governor of Ohio is doing or are you against it?

There are some things that must be happen now before this will continue to spread and offering such amount will attract people to make many vaccination happened.
also this is our obligation as People of each country to help the spread stops and that is how? with vaccine and the winning is just a bonus for all of us.

I think that with a gift like this it will certainly make people interested in vaccinating, but with a large prize that is offered, it will certainly cause suspicion towards the government, because the public will naturally think that if they can only be made guinea pigs by the government with vaccinations that are not yet 100% in clinical trials, I think some countries are a little doubtful about the vaccination because it might have other side effects even the Malaysian government compensates its disabled or dead citizens being vaccinated.

The indemnity agreements demanded by vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer and Moderna have triggered a lot of suspicion among the people. According to the agreements, the vaccine manufactures are not responsible for any adverse reaction resultant from the vaccine (including deaths). On top of that, they are not even responsible for negligence (even criminal negligence). So in future, if someone gets handicapped or undergoes a serious medical condition due to an adverse reaction to the vaccine, he won't be able to file a lawsuit against Pfizer or Moderna.

Despite negatives thought about the offer, come to think outside the box. There are lots of vaccine doses available in the states that can accommodate all people there but some are still in doubt. In other countries such as India, there is a wild call that they really need a vaccine but lacking supply and these rich countries are overwhelming with supplies but some of their citizens don't want to be vaccinated. The reason is, "they aren't struggling".

I'm not against this offer even I don't want to be vaccinated. My only concern is, the amount involved can be used in other ways instead of only a few people will get benefits from it.

.. it will certainly cause suspicion towards the government, because the public will naturally think that if they can only be made guinea pigs by the government with vaccinations that are not yet 100% in clinical trials,

Vaccines are rolled out for several months now and the positivity rate is so high. If there's a complication, maybe the health of the person is involved and not directly because of the vaccine. Their citizens also have the freedom to choose their vaccine brand.

And reading the news related to that offer looks like it gained much attention and more people join the vaccine club.

In my opinion, such important decisions as vaccination should be made without any outside incentives. The loss of profits syndrome is very strong (especially if we are talking about gamblers who are a lot among ordinary people), so this lottery can become (for some people) a decisive factor in making a decision.
I doubt that those that have a strong opinion against the vaccines are going to get convinced by the chance of making one million dollars since they are going to think their health is more valuable than that, however for the ones that are on the fence and that do not really have any kind of good argument then the incentive could be good enough to increase the number of people that are vaccinated, and taking into account the mutations that are being discovered all over the world getting the vaccine even if it is not something that aligns with what you want it may be the best option as I do not think anyone wants to go back to the strict lockdowns we have left behind just recently.
People would have different impressions towards on getting vaccinated. Some would argue and some would agree even if there are no deals or perks like this and imagine that
getting yourself a shot just for having the chance to win a million wont really be enough.

If you had been hesitating due to side effects then these kind of plataforms or ways wont really work out on some people.

We know that they are trying out their best to get people vaccinated due to this worsening situation of pandemic but it seems there are still lots who arent that confident.

By the way, they can give a lot of money to the lucky lottery winners, why don't they do that apart from the big prizes, they will also give all the vaccinators even a little help or support for their daily needs especially among the poor. Even if they don't prosper on the day of the raffle draw, they still get something like a package.
That's asking for too much for me, I mean vaccine should be the least a decent person can do but not everyone is a decent person so they have to be given some sort of reward before they even consider vaccinating.

Two doses of the vaccine cost the authorities close to $100 per person. And despite the cost involved in procuring the vaccine and logistics (Pfizer vaccines need to be stored at -70 degrees), they are given for free. Now if some people are still reluctant to get the vaccines, then IMO they should not be forced. Around the world a lot of countries are facing shortage of vaccines and if any of the Americans don't want to be vaccinated, then their doses should be distributed to those in need.
I agree that if all doses of the vaccine are completed even if there is a shortage of the vaccine its spread will decrease. In many countries of the world even if the first dose is given many people are reluctant to take the second dose and the government will not be able to force them to vaccinate. If the vaccine is rewarded for free in poor countries then everyone will accept it.

With this incentivizing for the covid vaccine shot that has been initiated, there are now more states that are going to follow what has started.

That only means that it was a successful uplifting the trust of people to the vaccine just because they've made an incentive not only about lottery but also in the form of other incentives that will surely be liked by the person taking the vaccine.

I think that every state should seriously consider splitting the prize pool up so that there can be lots of winners with a lower amount. They could take that $1 million and offer 20 weekly prizes of $50,000 or 10 fortnightly prizes of $100,000. It would help many more people, keep the scheme going for longer and should still achieve exactly the same effect. At the current rate of vaccinations that would cover 3-4 months worth of prizes and get more publicity for the cause. I think anyone who would be susceptible to a monetary reward in return for vaccination would see those as worthy amounts. Sometimes you have to give a good idea a little rethink and optimization.
I agree to that idea that each state should have come with that prize splitting so that the more the merrier for the winners. But if that's final and that's the decision that they've come up to encourage their citizens to take the vaccine. There's nothing we can do with that still, it's a good way to introduce the vaccination for their citizens and that would at least remove the doubt that those anti-vaxxers and those people who don't like to take the shot. I hope that idea of yours would be come to the thought of anyone who's in the higher position to take it into consideration.

Thats a good initiative to encourage their contituents to be vaccinated, its like an incentives while making yourself safe to become infected of the virus. However there's still questions that need to be answered before letting yourself to have a shot of vaccine, like the brand and effectiveness plus the effect of it in our body or if there's a contraindication if you're taking other medicines.

The price is huge so its not surprising if many people bite the offer to have a chance to win 1 million. But I think its best to give an incentives for each people who will get themselves vaccinated instead of conducting a lottery. That way, all people will be benefited and not only the lucky 5 winners.

Would really be good if the prize pool would really be divided into smaller parts just like what others been talking into rather than on having only 1 winner of 1million which wont really be a good motivation
for some people to take the vaccine as they do know that chances on hitting that jackpot is slim compared into those chances if the prizes is divided into smaller parts
not on the sense that it would turn out to be a small amount though.

This is a good initiative but i doubt that it wont be giving out 100% assurance that all would be considering to taking a shot because of this method but it isnt
'really bad neither.
That will look like an incentive to those who want to get the vaccine. Besides that, that money can help people who are less able to buy food. Maybe that can be a win-win solution for people who can not have money to survive. People will see that it is their chance to get the vaccine and get money to survive.

Maybe the government needs to think about another solution to invite more people to get the vaccine.

I think that with the gradual and increased vaccination the day will come when the population of those who have been vaccinated will be larger than those who have not.  And maybe at that time, they will regret that they did not get the vaccine earlier, where it is still free for the people to use and come to the point of having to pay for it.

I don't think that this will be a good idea. One million USD jackpot creates a lot of hype.. but the same amount of hype is not possible if the first prize is just $50,000 or $100,000. Also, the United States have already vaccinated half of their population, and therefore the entire process may be wrapped up in 2-3 months. Overall, I am not happy with tax money being used for this purpose, as I am not in favor of coercion. Non-vaccinated people represent a health hazard to others, but that should be combated with legal avenues and not with lottery jackpots.
