I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
I mean, getting vaccinated is good and all, but of course as far as I am concerned you should not coerce people to forcibly do it, in hopes for a financial reward. There is a reason why vaccines are created and from day one it should be all clear to us already why we need to get vaccinated. If we are going to believe fear mongers to change our minds about that one thing that could change our lives then of course that is already deadly and irresponsible for the part of the person spreading false news. I will get vaccinated without nothing in return but peace of mind.
It is not really coercion, this is an incentive, coercion would be if there was some kind of penalty if you did not get vaccinated, while this is an offer to get some financial gain besides the gains you get by having the vaccine that will help you combat the virus, if you would get the vaccine without any financial incentive then good for you because that is to me the right way to think but if some people need a little bit more convincing then this prize could be the difference maker which is why I think Ohio is doing the right thing with this.

With this incentivizing for the covid vaccine shot that has been initiated, there are now more states that are going to follow what has started.
That only means that it was a successful uplifting the trust of people to the vaccine just because they've made an incentive not only about lottery but also in the form of other incentives that will surely be liked by the person taking the vaccine.

Only first world countries can do this while the third world countries are struggling to get a vaccine to get their people who are desperate to get vaccines, even in this pandemic, there is no equality, the rich and the privileged are being urged and given gifts and requested to get a vaccine, while the third world people are begging to get a vaccine, if you are living in a third world country you need to take care of yourself until the time you get vaccinated and you will have a long wait, the rich come first.
That is true. They are mostly the manufacturers and the makers of the vaccine and that's why it's easy for them to give incentives for those who will take the shot. Whilst the other rest of the world who can't make a vaccine and not capable of, are only waiting for those supplies to go to them at the mercy of these big countries that have manufactured it. But so far, there's continuous progress for many countries for the vaccine. It's just all about their choice and which vaccine they trust or which is the most available.

It looks like not mate because as of tomorrow there is already 39% of People from Ohio already got vaccinated

I think even though there is no Lottery offering yet the people are willing to take part and this is one good thing.

Yeah.. so far 39% of the population in Ohio have received two doses of the vaccine, while another 5.6% is waiting for their second dose. However, compared to the national average, these numbers are very low. Across the United States, 49.2% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. In the neighboring states, the rate is higher. For example, Pennsylvania has given at least one dose of the vaccine to 56.7% of the population.

Yups how can they offer a Million lottery wins when they even struggle to accumulate enough vaccine for their people like mine?

there are limited funds now for the vaccine and more of those are just donation from other countries .

I have a feeling that this desperate move will actually discourage people from getting vaccinated. How much does an Ohio state lottery ticket, with a jackpot of around $1 million cost? $5? or $10? The state of Ohio is offering $5 for its citizens to get vaccinated. Do you really think that this paltry sum will encourage a lot of people? It could have been much better if they had given $5 or $10 worth of supermarket vouchers to those who are willing to take both the doses of the vaccine.

I agree that the lottery prize worth 1 million is not worth the many lives that might have been saved if more and more people were enthusiastic
about getting the vaccine. Because indeed the main purpose of this lottery is to invite people to be interested in vaccines, and like you said after
the vaccine, if getting the lottery prize can be considered a bonus. Hopefully what the governor of the Ohio has done with the idea of a lottery
can raise people's awareness about vaccine. At least Ohio residents can be more concerned with this pandemic condition, it requires cooperation
from all parties and cannot rely solely on the government.
I hope that too because that is for their people healthy and to survive in this pandemic which we do not know when it will end. If many people want to get the vaccine, it will make more people realize that and that can attract them o follow their step.

If you allow to be vaccinated by the first vial , then you must also have the second and final vaccination so there is nothing to explain about the second has been given because that is the step 2.
and also there are more than Half of people in many countries that had already initiated to be vaccinated so i think it is the supply that slowing the process because the Major countries are the first to be allotted before 2nd and third world countries .
The government needs to concern about the supply of the vaccine as there will be many people, elderly or younger people, who will get that vaccine. I think maybe there are many processes before the supply can be delivered to the other country so that can make a delay to receive the vaccine.

What the government needs to do is in addition to giving lottery prizes, but focus on education and socialization related to vaccines to the citizen.
Don't wait for people who are actively looking for information about vaccines on social media and their environment. It could be that the information
that the public gets is far from the truth, that's why most people end up looking safe by refusing vaccines.
Maybe the government can send their officers to many places and educate and socialise people about the importance of the vaccine so they want to be vaccinated. If they can do that, maybe people can open their mind and accept the vaccine so that will help the government distribute the vaccine. Both sides, the government and people need to be active to give information and search for the information, so there is a "take and give" action between them.

It is indeed a sad fact that is happening now, with the spread of the virus continuing, doesn't make a lot of people aware of the importance of
getting a vaccine. Maybe the government really should be more serious in educating the public about the importance of vaccines, because there is
still a lot of misleading news that continues to spread today regarding the side effects of vaccines. Maybe this is the factor that causes people to
hesitate to get vaccinated. I agree that everyone should be enthusiastic about being vaccinated with the lottery or without the lottery,
if they all understood the importance of vaccines.
People can easily get misleading news from social media and they will spread that news to their environment and say that is what happens to their country. But if they can ask the right person or health institutions, they will get the right answer that the vaccine can help them protect their body from the virus, but they still need to take care of themselves in the public area and other places. Giving a reward may be a solution to attract people to want to get the vaccine and the government must educate people about the side effect of the vaccine.

What the government needs to do is in addition to giving lottery prizes, but focus on education and socialization related to vaccines to the citizen.
Don't wait for people who are actively looking for information about vaccines on social media and their environment. It could be that the information

In an attempt to increase the number of people getting vaccinated all kind of incentives are being given in the US, one of the most interesting is that those that get at least the first dose of the vaccine at Ohio will have a chance to win one million dollars, apparently there will five be prizes so a total five million dollars will be given for those that are willing to take the vaccine, and for those that are below the age of 18 there will be full scholarships being offered as well.

What do you think of this? Do you agree with what the governor of Ohio is doing or are you against it?

I find it quite interesting. However, it might be better to distribute several smaller prizes with a higher chance to win instead of one big prize. It is well known that especially poorer people are not so interested in vaccination. That is why $10k would be a big profit for them. So I would rather give away 100 times $10k with a higher probability to win than one time $1 million.

In my opinion, this is a very strange management decision by the Governor of Ohio.

The goal of the Covid-19 coronavirus vaccination is the safety of the patient, his friends and relatives.  As well as the safety of other people (US citizens).  It is not very clear how this relates to the lottery.  The lottery is a game of chance.

The lottery is able to stimulate only gambling people to vaccinate.

At the same time, total vaccination is needed to defeat Covid-19.

I don't think so even if you are not into gambling or betting in a lottery, this is one million you will take a chance, not every city or state offer this kind of opportunity, they are lucky that their local government is offering this, no other country like Ohio is offering a chance to win one million to all who will take a vaccine, while other countries are in a hurry to get their citizen to get a vaccine.

In my country people have got some negative opinion over the vaccination. This has made most people stay away from vaccination. In such a situation I don't think people in my country will agree for vaccination even when they're given the access for million dollar lottery. However the step taken by the government is really an appreciable one.
The people should appreciate the step from the government and they better do not stay away from the vaccination. Moreover, the government just works to spread the vaccine to their people and the option will be from the people. If they want to be vaccinated, they will register and come to the hospital, but they will not come if they refuse. I hope by getting a vaccination, and we can get more protection for our body to prevent the virus from attacking us.

Vouchers or not then it wouldnt really matter much because people would always mind on the monetary value and if they do find out on having less 10 bucks or even hundreds then it wouldnt really be putting up much
interest.

This isnt a desperate move but rather they do find out some initiative or some idea that would make out citizens to take the vaccine but same as you said this wont really be enough.

There might be some people or person who would take the deal but majority would be still hesitated to do so but its better to make out some step rather than not
showing some ways at all.

I don't want to blame the governor or the state government for this. Their intention was good and they wanted to encourage their subjects to take the vaccine. But the move may be interpreted differently by different people. But overall, let's acknowledge the move from the government. I don't think that there was any ill intention and the problem may arise when their political opponents use these incidents to badmouth the authorities. I believe that it was a brave move from the state of Ohio.

Sure! In addition, I would consider this issue from this point of view - isn't it too immoral to psychologically put pressure on people when making such a responsible decision as vaccination with a poorly studied vaccine? All this looks very, very muddy and wrong.
Kinda immoral yes, but it is an incentive that people need for them to vaccinate themselves. I don't really know much about the effectiveness of the vaccine themselves (haven't gotten one yet), but considering that Ohio has offered vaccine shots, it should have been plenty studied that the shot is effective, or at least creates some form of resistance against the virus. Ofc, vaccinated people themselves shouldn't be stupid thinking that the vaccine would make them immune from the virus, but it does give them some leeway.

I'd suppose the government just wants the transactions to go back to normal, hence why they're pushing for everyone to get a shot, just so that they can increase the accepted capacity of most places. I'd still rather have a system where scans of you getting vaccinated or not be a thing though ngl.

In my opinion, such important decisions as vaccination should be made without any outside incentives. The loss of profits syndrome is very strong (especially if we are talking about gamblers who are a lot among ordinary people), so this lottery can become (for some people) a decisive factor in making a decision.

Hopefully, with that lottery's, people wants to get the vaccine because that is for their health and protecting them from the virus. The prizes are not important, but their health will be the important thing that they need to concern about. If they can be the winner after the vaccine, that will be their bonus because they follow what their government suggested. It should need more attention from people and awareness to get the vaccine. Besides that, the vaccine is free and they do not have to pay anything.

Several months have passed since the vaccination program has started in the United States. And despite widespread concerns initially, adverse effects from the vaccination have been noted from very few recipients. Almost half of the population has so far received both doses of the vaccine. At this point, there is no point in encouraging people who are reluctant to take vaccine to get inoculated. The field data is already available and if someone still don't want the vaccine, then IMO he or she shouldn't be forced.
Although they can not be forced to get the vaccine, that still for their health, especially if they want to get out in the public area. That vaccine can give protection to them, although it is not full protection because that will depend on their health. Yes, the second vaccine is already given to people, including to the elderly. But still, many of them do not want to get the vaccine. They can leave the lottery and do not fills anything, but they should concern about their health and follow their government suggestion, especially for their health. That is the important thing.

It's not just money, but the governor of the Ohio offering lottery's aim and purpose is to increase the number of people willing to get vaccinated.
Ideas like this should be appreciated, apart from being effective in getting a lot of people interested in vaccines, it is also very helpful for lottery winners.
This big lottery prize can change the future of the winner, I really support this idea.
Hopefully, with that lottery's, people wants to get the vaccine because that is for their health and protecting them from the virus.
