Just read on espn Bruce Springsteen daughter won silver in horse riding, or whatever the proper name is.  I don't know anything about that sport but does anyone know if she was expected to medal this Olympics.  Pretty successful family I'd say lol.

Horse riding is one of those sports where I'm a bit skeptical of the athlete's abilities. In my country at least, the horse riders in the Olympics seem to come from very wealthy backgrounds. Certainly winning an Olympic medal is a huge achievement whatever the sport, and requires a lot of skill, talent and dedication... I'm just saying that the pool of possible contenders is significantly smaller than for other sports, because there appears to be a considerable barrier to entry. Bruce Springsteen's daughter may be hugely talented, I don't know, but she is certainly one of the few people who can afford to enter the sport.

**In BTC since 2013**
For the first time in 25 years since 1996, Russia has failed to win gold at the Olympic Games in artistic gymnastics! The Russian athlete performed the programme perfectly! And the winner, an Israeli athlete who won gold, dropped an object... All this happened because of unfair judging!

Do you have any news that you can indicate about this situation? I would like to understand better what happened.

The Russian Olympic Committee team took the gold medal. Are you talking at the individual level?

Good data! It is surprising to think that a country like India wins even few medals, if we compare its population versus medals ratio it is insignificant and it is obvious that it leads to a statue being made to the winner of that medal. It is a fact that one believes that it is not like that, certain countries in reality surprise with their very poor performance, India is one of them.
Many countries are filled with corrupted sport authorities so the real talents are rejected and India is one of such extreme, they even send someone as athletes for Olympic if they just came from their families, friend or region circle. I will be looking forward to see the sports with no corruption and real talents to spice things up atleast in the future.

One of the things that most caught my attention about Brazil is that until the last moment he fought and gave everything, but the most important thing is that Dani Alves publicly made his declaration in Brazil of wanting to go to the Olympics, a player with more than 46 titles and winning the Olympic gold is worthy of admiration, the fact of asking to be taken and brought the gold is a unique conviction of a champion, my total admiration for the player and the entire Brazilian team, how good that South America is shining in the world.
Though he has many major titles, he is always striving to win a new title. The 38-year-old right back has played throughout the Olympics. Dani Alves is thrilled to win this Olympic gold. What a great day! Another one was added! Congratulations to the Brazilian team for winning back-to-back Olympic gold medals.

I like the efficiency the Bermuda team have, send 2 athletes and from the two, one delivers a gold medal 🏅.  Other countries should emulate this to avoid investing so much resources without returning  home without medals.

They are the most successful here as they have a 50% success rate and they get the biggest win which is the gold medal. Maybe some that have few delegates because they did not qualify on the Olympics qualifiers and I'm pretty sure the majority of the sports in the Olympics are also played in most countries, even the poor ones.

It is true. There are very few team games that you don't need a lot of resources to be able to play. And in poorer places, football is played, even if you can only have a ball made of rags.

Running is also a sport with practically zero costs to practice, just go out and run. But it's a solitary sport, and people like to have fun with other people. That's why football easily becomes popular everywhere.

I guess football became the most popular game because it can be played with almost no costs thats why kids like it and are interested in it all around the world me personaly i prefer tennis but the problem that to play tennis you need the equipment and the court to play and that is a problem and we do not see much interest in it and thats why in the olympics we see that most countries to win medals are well known countries like usa, china and some europe and some south american countries.

Finally India got a gold medal on javelin throw. The first medal in the track and field is taken today in the history of Olympics. The 23 year old Neeraj Chopra had made it for India. Now entire India will be in celebration mood, because its a gold for India. This wins will make more younger generation focus on athlete in a country where cricket is a big attraction.

Congratulations to india for their first gold medal and it was a completely unexpected one too, as the german Johannes Vetter was the huge favorite to win this competition because he was throwing over 90 meters pretty regularly in the contests before the olympic games and he is also m holding the record for the longest throw so far this season with 91,50 meters, but today he just couldn't deliver and did not even reach the stage of the last 8 athletes with a throw of only 82,52 meters which means a 9th place for him. Chopra took this big opportunity and managed to win this competition with a throw of "only" 87,58 meters. An unexpected win is probably the sweetest one , so congrats to him.

The odds for Brazil were to generous and anybody that knows this should have staked some coins on them, I was expecting Brazil to have a price of 1.5 there about but they got priced at over 2.5 odds.
Half time scores between Brazil and Spain (1-0) and as expected Brazil are currently in the lead thanks to a goal from Cunha despite Richarlison missing a penalty earlier on, match remains evenly contested, can Brazil hold on to their lead ,let's watch and see.

After Brazil failed to realize some of the hottest moments in the second half, Spain was able to score a return goal and now you have a chance to bet with a much more generous odds than before:
3,95 - 1,80 - 3,95
There is more than 20 minutes until the end of regular time and the chance that someone will score is very high, especially considering that many goals are scored in the last minutes.

I must admit that the old football rule worked: "If you don't score, they score to you."

This year's Olympics have the peculiarity of giving medals to several teams and athletes that were far from being "favorites" or weren't even known until recently.

Not only India and others getting their first medals, but the overall ranking of medals are more distributed.
I don't want to take the credit of athletes, but I believe that the "blame" for this is the pandemic that imposed difficulties for many athletes to train professionally, reducing the inequality between the richest and the poorest of access to good coaches and equipments.

And that's why some countries didn't want the 2020 Olympics to be held.

Congratulations India!

^ That is a good update, it seems the two leading countries Philippines and Indonesia in the medal tally.
However, on the other hand, and in the boxing division it seems Paalam did not bring down his opponent and that is a good point to the Philippines if he was able to win the fight but unluckily, he did not. Nevertheless, it seems the Philippines now has major wins in all categories of sports.

Javelin throw final will be played in Olympic Games tomorrow. This is our country (Pakistan) last hope to get any medal in this Olympics. We have high hopes for him and wish him best of luck. Lets hope he win a Gold medal for us.  Smiley

When looking at the elimination results of javelin throwers, there are a few who have throw on similar distance as Nadeem. Of course, anything can happen in the final and good luck to the Pakistani representative. However, it seems that the competition will be very strong in tomorrow finals. However, it seems that Vetter is the favorite and it will be hard for anyone to threaten him.

Pakistan was not able to win any medal and finished on Number 5.  Sad

Indian N. Chopra won the Gold medal. He was lucky as he throwed Javelin over 87 meters in the first two throws and that was the decider. Pakistani player Arshad Nadeem looked out of form and his throw was also going a bit wide. You need to be fully fit physcically and mentally, if you want to achieve a medal.

I am a bit disappointed and will only say "Better Luck Next time".

The Philippines might be so competitive enough in the Olympics but this is a historic year for the Philippines.

As of now, Philippines already bag 4 medals (1 gold, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze) which was never achieved in the past.

Also, among the southeast ASEAN countries, Philippines were leading in the race in meal tally and would probably end as the best.

CCTO.

and this fun fact.
