I hope this takes off, but like other sites/companies trying to do the same thing it may be too soon.

It's a great concept,  but if few people use the site then it dies quickly.  No one wants to put a listing on a website and just have it sit there with no buyers.

I'll support this site and I do think at some point a decentralized "ebay" will get a strong foothold.  Hopefully it's this one, if not then hopefully it's the next one that pops up  Smiley

I just purchase something and listed something for sale on CrytoThrift to try it out.

I just checked out Cryptothrift.   It is pretty cool.  Obviously it could use more listings, but I am sure it will soon...

I have an old set of block erupters I might list on there to try it out.

I can't wait for this to be released. I've read about it a few days back.
Should be great for Bitcoin.

What is decentralized in Cryptothrift ? It appears like a normal market place that accepts Bitcoin !!!

This is a great idea. I remember posting this concept in a thread 4-5 months ago when someone asked "what types of BTC businesses would you like to see in the future."

If done correctly, this will be a hit...

Looks interesting. How far are they from launch? Are there any major open problems/tasks or is it just finetuning at this point?
I can't really guess at what point they are based on the forum..

I really like this idea. I am not sure how long it will take to pull some significant numbers away from epay-bay but I will definitley support it.

Wont they get into trouble openly devolving this sort of thing?

Anonymous markets are always controversial ... I am not talking about sell drugs and guns, but for example sell patents essays too ( btw came to my mind Aaron Swartz Death ) ... but all this already exist in real world (take a look on dark pool liquidity on financial market)  , I think openbazaar would be "free market" to regular people

What do you mean exactly? It is a marketplace but I don't think it's gone live yet.

Yes. The site is not yet online. But their forum is very active (open to non-members). A lot of meaningful discussions are going on there, and there you'll get an idea of what you can expect from Open Bazaar.

I think it's the software or protocol for it isn't it? I could be wrong though. Hopefully this solves all the problems other markets like Silk Road and Atlantis had etc.

I'm sure it will solve many of the problems Atlantis and SR had. I wouldn't really trust those markets but I'd have a little more faith in this one I think. I hope it works out well.

Finally something I have been waiting for, OpenBazaar is pretty much a decentralized ebay based on DarkMarket which is a P2P trading platform.

http://www.btcfeed.net/news/openbazaar-is-the-decentralized-ebay/

Can't wait to use it, theres not gonna be the 15% ebay fees and no more paypal stealing your hard earned money

Is OpenBazaar itself a marketplace ? I was checking http://openbazaar.org ...there is nothing !!!
